Fall Line – The shortest and steepest way down a hill.

Fall Line was shot last winter in the Sea to Sky corridor with rider Jamie Biluk and filmmaker Connor Macleod. The goal of this project was to have fun riding and shooting in some of our favorite local riding zones. We both love riding trail bikes and wanted to shoot a no frills shred edit. We also wanted to have that classic shore vibe – dark, green, and wet. I think we achieved our goal of having some fun riding and shooting bikes and we hope it inspires you to get out with your buddies and do the same

Screen shot

Rider- Jamie Biluk
Film – Connor Macleod

Why describe the meaning of fall line in the title and then show a regular ( though amazing ) trail ?
  • 110 5
Obviously IMBA held his family hostage till he replaced his fall line video with something with a sustainable grade.

Absolutely loved the riding in this edit but... if its called the shortest and steepest way down a mountain why was their pedaling?

Hahahahah! You guys have no idea. I've ridden Bend.. never ridden North carolina, but I can assure both of you that the trails on Cypress and the vicinity would terrify you.
  • 10 1
Having ridden all three, NC is a lot closer to Cypress tech than Bend and has plenty of steep gnarness. However, the trail shown in the edit is not an example of Cypress gnar

Lived in Vancouver for 1 yr. I know.

Great riding, but not an inch of that trail was steep
  • 3 1
Isn't the shortest steepest way down a hill just stepping off the cliff?
  • 4 0
Agreed - sea-to-sky the shortest way down trails are Village Chair liftline and Disneyland - the title was very misleading.

 Nice video. Misleading title.

Homeboy needs to dial back the rebound in his shock a bit.
  • 5 4
 I noticed that too
  • 15 4
Jamie rips. I think he can set his bike up how he wants.
  • 8 7
May be he could rip a little harder if he dialed his rebound back a bit.

Out of interest and continual learning, I rewatched it based on the rebound comment, and I think it was merely that the trail had a few lumps after a point of compression (@ 29s and 43s), kicking up his back wheel. In other places where had had some drops and chattery roots, his rear wheel looked planted after impacts.

It could be the bike geometry/personal preference. I noticed my nomad wanted to be in the air a lot more than my enduro, the nomad was a bit more playful because of this, but my enduro stays more planted and feels more stable and fast which is what i prefer. I could be wrong, it's just what i noticed. Killer edit either way, the scenery was beyond beautiful!

His Elevinsix is dialled now, his bike in the vid has the choppy Monarch. Jamie rides his shox slow and stiff, really fucking stiff. it's all in your head. He was good back in the day, real powerful rider. JB so dreamy

beautiful froest, great riding, but if youre traversing benches and pedaling, it aint the fall line.
  • 7 1
Might as well have called the vid 'Big ass titties'
  • 4 1
Nice edit! Solid riding, no unnecessary kick outs, no replay of the same jump from three different angles, no putting on the goggles and glove scene, chill soundtrack with raw sound, too. This makes me want to ride!!!!
  • 8 5
ugh. had to turn the volume down three different times just to get through the edit. give me some real fuckin music please!
  • 1 4
What's wrong with it? Just because it isn't the type of music you listen to it's bad?
  • 9 4
 Damn that guy is sexy
  • 5 3
 Agreed
  • 4 2
 JB sex on wheels
  • 4 1
Can we all just agree ODESZA and Black Sabbath or the only appropriate edit choices?
  • 4 0
Still waiting for the fall line.
  • 4 0
fuck me, i don't dream a trail ride as good as that.
  • 4 3
OK, so I go to see where this is and it turns out its just up the hill from my house! SCORE!!!!! I know where Im headed tomorrow!

How many cameras do you need to capture that run in its entirety, .........or..........did he stop and go back every 5 secs........the reality is lame
  • 2 0
ace riding, perfect filming - though it seems some scenes have some speed issues, for example 0:59... Wink

I liked it! Killer looking trail reminds me of where I used to ride in New York.
The "music" sucked wet muddy balls!
That suckage also reminds me of NY.

Great riding, edit and trail, regardless of title misconceptions. Those trails looked steep and gnarly enough for me, dig it!
