The jacket is a great fit and certainly feels flattering, in terms of fit I was able to wear sub gear underneath as well as a base layer with no issues in manoeuvrability on or off the bike. Riding in freezing temperatures I was surprised how warm I was with minimal layers underneath - even with a crash on the ice the jacket fared well without so much as a scratch, testament I think to the quality of the fabric. On the warmer days the underarm vents were a welcome addition when I'd been riding for a while. The hydrophobic finish is brilliant and it kept the water away, even the mud was minimal after a few hours in the saddle through snow and slush on one particular ride and it's easy to clean, I wiped the excess mud with a cloth and left it to dry. I would say that wearing layers underneath is the best option as the waterproof fabric can feel cold against your skin, but it isn't uncomfortable. The branding is subtle with the reflective logo at the back doubling up as protection, I also found the rear light hoop an added bonus when riding at night. The jacket has been great in all weathers, and looks good enough to wear casually when I'm not out on the bike. The waterproofing is second to none and it's hard to find much I dislike aside from the fact it would be nice to have something to adjust the hood as it wouldn't stay up in very windy conditions, but apart from that I find it hard to find any flaws. 179.99 may seem a lot, but it's worth paying out for a well thought out product that will keep you warm and dry in most conditions. - Lauren Jenkins |
