Nathan Riddle Wins The 3 Day Fluidride Enduro DH On Mt Hood

Sep 15, 2010
by Mike Estes
Mt Hood Oregon was the location for a 3 day stage DH race starting on Friday with an 18+ minute stage starting at 6,000ft, at the base of the Palmer Snowfield above Timberline Lodge, descending over 4,000 feet into pristine singletrack. Saturday was using a portion of the track, but ended in a completely different location in Government Camp at the Thunderhead Lodge. Sunday the course was held at Mt Hood Ski Bowl and was an incredible challenge of rocks, high speed turns, a sweet dive into a technical woods section with a really fast ending.

After the racing wrapped up it was time to prep for the awards and raffle. Huge props to Carey Hopkins at Momentum Bike's in Sandy Oregon for supplying one of the nicest end of race raffles I've ever witnessed. He had two Mountain Cycle frames, lots of Kali Protectives, Sombrio, Arrow Tires, Wall Street Pizza Gift Certificates, Dakine, Loeka and a nice donation of Pedros. I dropped off some Alpinestars to add to the mix and almost everyone had thier raffle # called. Thanks to Mt Hood Ski Bowl, Timberline Lodge, Hurricane Racing, Simon Lawton of Fluidride, All The Bike Park Crews, All the Lift Operators and Racing Staff for making this race absolutely 'the buzz' right now. Endurance racing is hot!

Adam craig is the best one out there, Riddle lives there and of course he rides those trails all the time.We have guys here in So.Cal. that pull the same crap, winning local races but unable to do it somewhere else.

For the record, Nathan Riddle is from Ashland OR, Adam lives in Bend OR, that would make Adam the local. Adam also suffered a flat which took him out of the overall combined times of the 3 days. I agree with you that a mulitple time US National Champ and Olympian has a decorative resume compared to Nathan Riddle, but Mr Riddle won the event. "if you ain't first, your last" Ricky Bobby!

Mike, a jammed chain up top kept me from the win. You might want to fix that! I just won the overall, not the race.
