VI's own FOE Magazine

Jan 10, 2011
by Taylor Leigh
FOE Magazine is Vancouver Island's (B.C.) first expressive magazine that's completely rider owned and operated.

"I felt that Vancouver Island lacked the exposure part for people such as artists and athletes. If you spend some time on our little gem of an island touring around viewing galleries, trails, and skateparks, you'll soon become familiarized with the immense amount of talent that we produce...

This place is full of it and it's that much harder for those who hold the skills, but lack the funds to leave our rock in order to gain the type of exposure that they deserve. This is one of many reasons why I created FOE and put it in motion. I want to help people achieve their dreams and it seems like a magazine is a great opportunity to open doors for those who kill it."

In a nut-shell :: FOE Magazine (Freedom Of Expression) is Vancouver Island's first expressive magazine catering to the different arts, cultures and extreme sports on VI. FOE Mag brings you a collaboration of everything that is awesome in life; art, artists, culture and lifestyle, the freedom to express, skateboarding, surfing, mountain biking, BMXing music and the list goes on. This puppy is yours, so write in and tell us what you want to see, or if you have any bright ideas that need the attention of fellow Islander's.

How often is FOE Mag published? FOE Mag releases an issue every six months. Eventually we will be publishing issues quarterly, but for now you'll have to hang tough.

FOE Mag is available online, but our main intentions for FOE is to keep it a super high quality magazine that's completely free. We print every issue on White # Titan 100lbs gloss paper with slightly raised ink throughout. Yeah, we know it's a bit over the top, but we feel that it truly enhances the interactive experience when flipping through an issue of FOE Mag, whether it be on the couch or the can. FOE Mag will continue to be a free read, no matter what.

Excellent idea. Would be very cool to have a magazine to connect with your average everyday rider who just loves to ride. Just as cool to have it island based! Deffinately going to be checking this out often.

Taylor is one of the most talented people I know. As an artist, web designer, photographer, rider, etc. etc. etc. Amazing for someone by themselves to put out such a quality magazine. Anyone on the island HAS to check it out. Keep killing it brother!

I couldnt agree more with Aaron. Taylor's talent goes beyond that of riding a bike, whether it be a BMX or a mountain bike. He truly shows that it doesn't matter what size your wheels are. Taylor, keep up the hard work dude. Your a beauty!

Taylor is a renaissance man, probably the most multitalented person I know. The web is awesome but nothing will replace flipping through crisp pages in a new magazine. Support FOE!
