Follow Me - New Zealand Behind The Scenes

Nov 12, 2010
by Anthill Films
Winter is fast approaching and for many of us that means less real riding and more dreaming of riding. To help ease the pain (or make it worse depending on your perspective) Anthill is going to be releasing a few tasty bits from the DVD extras of Follow Me. First up is short behind-the-scenes video from Gee and Stevie's trip to New Zealand paired with a slide show from Caleb Smith of Spoke Magazine.

Check out the video and slide show inside...It's been more than 7 months since Follow Me came out last spring and we've been holding on pretty tight to a lot of content. But it's time to start sharing. We just finished putting together an edit from our trip to New Zealand that combines some behind-the-scenes footage with a few shots from the film. New Zealand is definitely one of the favorite segments. But it didn't always feel that way. As you will see in the video, we weren't even sure if we were going to have enough footage to put the segment together.

Caleb Smith was instrumental in helping us pull this segment off. He embodies the generous spirit of everyone we met down in NZ and we're stoked that he agreed to share his slide show with everyone. Make sure you check out his website: calebsmith.co.nz.

Uplift now in tow, www.skyline.co.nz/queenstown/MTB not to all those tracks!

Don't let the lack of lazy arse mans shuttle deter you, oh though we get the trails to ourselves I guess lol.

They're is so much good riding here not just Qtown in an hour radius, it would blow u away for life, finding stuff and being shown stuff is the adventure not riding a chairlift all day!

You miss pure gold here if thats what ya looking for, skiing boarding is the same back country kicks the fields no end yet the ski fields rock here too! Grab a van bring ya missus so they can shop and shuttle ya kiwi style!

And leave the country clean we don't want litter bugs, carry out what you carry in!

Love the NZ section but with SH, Brendogs and Qtown I could just watch a 2hr movie on those sections of follow me alone, wish they were longer and the movie was longer, my only neg, was awesome still.

I just bought the movie, and love it. The NZ section made me all homesick - for all that I live in Canada now and love it, it reminded me of why I still think Queenstown is one of the most kick-ass places on the planet. I've only ever been there once in the summer ... the next time I visit, I'll be hiring a mountain bike for sure.

I bought and after a few times on it started to jump. No scratches but a spill like stain on the disk, wont even work anymore. shit quality if you ask me!!! Good film although way to short.

Sadly, this movie didn't get me quite as excited as some other more recent bike films. While the concept was cool, something about it just didn't quite work for me, particularly the "bike parks" segment and the "Vanderham/Hill" segment. However, I did really like the "Smith/Atherton" segment at the end. The riding really look like wide open, high-speed good times.

@sheffy7: I love that about the way he rides. He's so "poppy" and nimble on the bike. And you can REALLY see a huge difference in the way he and Stevie ride just from that segment. I love the one jump during that long shot right after gee says the tracks could rival world cup tracks where they keep hitting all kinds of jumps along that kinda flat part and Gee boosts the one like 3x bigger than stevie who floated over it. It's at like 37:48

Oh, also karl-burkat, if I say purchased the movie 4 times (once for myself and 3 times as a gift for friends) does that mean I'm entered 4 times?
