The pinnacle of Enduro fork performance is now available in a Boost version. The exclusive Internal Floating Technology (IFT) gives the fork a previously unachievable level of smooth function while the Compression Tuning System (CTS) gives the rider a greater level of compression adjustment.

The Remote Cartridge Control (RCC) puts the high-speed compression control on the handlebars with its 13 positions from completely open to fully locked.
The stanchions use the Hexagon Design making the Selva stiff and reactive, creating huge gains in riding precision and reliability.

RideFormula

A strong fork, unequaled in its sensitivity for even the smallest bumps is available in 27,5”, 27,5” Plus and 29” with 120 - 180mm travel.

The Selva is the sum of all our suspension knowledge and your definitive weapon for Enduro.

RideFormula

RideFormula

IFT - Internal Floating Technology

The IFT (Internal Floating Technology) is what truly differentiates our forks from any other fork. Smoothness is very important in terms of suspension performance.
All forks, regardless of their stiffness, experience some kind of lateral stress while riding. This type of stress increases the friction of the internal parts.
Thanks to Formula’s design, our hydraulic cartridge is structurally merged with the stanchions and lower legs. In a riding situation, our internals compensate for the external stresses placed on the fork. This causes an incredible reduction of friction.

RideFormula

CTS - Compression Tuning System

The overall fork compression damping profile can be adjusted based on the rider’s needs by changing the CTS (Compression Tuning System).
This set of three valve heads change the compression rate from soft (gray), medium (blue), and firm (red).
Located under the low-speed compression knob, the valve heads are easily switched with a simple tool without losing fluid or needing to bleed the cartridge.

RideFormula

HEX - Hexagon Design

The ability of a fork to resist flexing is a key factor for maximum riding precision.
A fork that rebounds too fast may make riding unsafe with an overall lack of control, above all when braking and cornering. In the same way, it is important that the fork is not too stiff, because it may make riding too tiring.

Many riders are skeptical about using boost because they fear the forks have too much flex and added weight.
When designing the Selva we had a fundamental aim in mind, finding the perfect balance point between stiffness and flex, this is the same as our standard forks.
Thanks to the Hexagon design, the natural flex of the fork has been dramatically decreased with this lightweight method. In this way, we have managed to combine the advantages of the standard boost with the stiffness of a traditional fork.

RideFormula

RCC - Remote Cartridge Control

The high-speed compression is managed by our wide range lockout lever, located on top of the cartridge.
Our RCC (Remote Cartridge Control) is a handlebar mounted 13 position lever created put control in the hands of the rider.
Becoming a part of the cartridge, the RCC adjusts the high-speed damping from fully open to completely locked out. Its innovative design eliminates cables and hydraulic fluid; instead, the hose rotates with the movement of the lever changing the compression damping.

RideFormula

ILS - Integrated Locking System

Connecting wheel to fork, we have the ILS (Integrated Locking System) 15mm thru axle, designed to take the guesswork out of wheel attachment.
Once tightened, the ILS lever is designed to be removed and reinserted at any position for perfect alignment with the fork lowers.
The ILS lever may also be removed and left behind during a ride for further weight savings on an already lightweight fork.

RideFormula

Instead of the standard lever, you can use the ILS Key Tool on your Integrated Locking System. The ILS Key Tool makes your thru-axle lighter and thanks to its design you get 2mm and 5mm allen key integrated in your fork.

Yep, that was the reason I couldn't read the article just scrolled down to read the comments... Smile

I genuinely want to know what their "hexagon design" is. Apparently it dramatically increases stiffness in a lightweight package, but the only real info I can glean suggests it is simply a white hexagon drawn on the lower casting...

"The ability of a fork to resist flexing is a key factor for maximum riding precision" Bollocchi Grande. Mi sono molto irritero, la una cosa marketingo molto bulshiti. Marketingo bum bum. But no worrisi, everybody hurts sometimes, eee la musica di R.E.M.

 Crazy one....

Really good review (RGR). These forks look decent (TFLD), but I'll probably stick to my Current Forks (CF) for The Time Being (TTB).

give this man a bike, or a fork!

 Epic!!!

I like the colours and being able to "customise" the fork with decals.
Why is it so incredibly hard to find fork decals!? Like come on man! You are better off finding the Arc of the Covenant than having a fork manufacturer sell you decals for the forks they sell.
They probably have pallets full of stickers that go unused, they probably at lunch sit on 10 foot high stacks of unused fork decals. They are eating their peanut butter sandwiches laughing, manically laughing!! knowing that the stickers would make thousands of humans happy knowing that they would be able to refresh their forks with new stickers, but no, they refuse to make a profit by selling them to you because they know it would make you happy!

But anyway enough of the this sticker rant, nice forks.

Stikrd is the place to go for custom decals.
  • 1 0
Stikrd.com has a good list of available fork, shock and rim graphics WITH an interactive graphic design program to see how your plan will look before print. if it's not on the website, message them and ask, as they are uploading more daily and have access to many not listed.
  • 2 0
Having tried both Slik and Stikrd for both fork and shock applications, I would have to say that the quality of Slik is beyond that of Stikrd. Currently running Slik decals on my monarch and float 36.
  • 2 0
Rockshox Totem used to be the boy - full sticker kits inside each box

and we saw some Rockshox Argyle like that with sticker kits and custom wrist sweat bands - very cool.

the big manufacturers can do it if they wanted, but considering many aftermarket boxed retail forks and complete bikes don't even come with a suspension pump.....Frown
  • 1 0
@acidwire: surprising stikrd has fallen short, how was the quality less?
  • 23 4
The amount of marketing hype describing the features of this fork is pretty incredible and ridiculous haha
Really distracted from the fork itself...

and wait, and a lever so you can lock out high speed compression? Did I read that right? I can't imagine why one would ever want to do that
  • 12 14
Many lock outs out there use high speed compression valve. CC, Öhlins.

 www.canecreek.com/products/suspension/dbair-cs/climb-switch-technology

"LSC and LSR" not HSC. Lockouts should lock out LSC to work effectively. I understand not all suspension works this way, but it's ideal as presented by CC and Ohlins.

"Hey guys let's quote Dante in our ad for this bicycle fork"

"Great idea Steve!"
  • 3 0
@scottay2hottay: i tried to find the dante quote but the article is too boring...
  • 1 0
They present it as a "remote control" instead of a lockout. Maybe so you can adjust your setting while riding? Doesn't make any more sense though... ^^
  • 9 0
 @scottay2hottay:
The original version of Dante's quote:
"Midway upon the journey of our life
I found myself within a forest dark,
For the straightforward pathway had been lost."
Sounds like this:
"Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita
Mi ritrovai in una selva oscura
che la diritta via era smarrita"

This is the incipit of the Inferno, and this is where the name Selva came from. Selva is the word for woods in old italian and other languages like spanish.

Cheers, Formula staff.
  • 2 0
@FormulaItaly: are you telling me this fork is going to help me descend into dante's inferno? hell yes.
  • 3 0
@FormulaItaly: I actually really liked it I was just being a douche.
  • 1 0
@FormulaItaly: welcome to the jungle! gn'r
  • 1 0
@FormulaItaly: How about a longer travel Selva 29 with offsets less than 46mm? Same with the Nero Air 29!
  • 12 0
 I like the matte ultraviolet
  • 3 0
 It is pretty damn sexy.
  • 9 0
Even with trying to explain what HEX was, I still don't know what it is. Someone want to clarify?
  • 24 1
You couldn't figure it out from the description and the picture?

Dude, they even have a detail blowup Right There!

It's a line drawing of a hexagon that keeps everything lined up nice and flexibly stiff. (Not stiffly flexible mind you!)
They originally used a pentagram but for some reason the lowers kept melting...huh.
  • 1 1
They seriously needed an English speaking editor for that section. IHNFC (I have no f***ing ) either.

I will guess that they've made the lowers lighter and use a hex shaped axle to limit flex likesome USD (up side down) designs?

WFK (who f***ing knows)?
  • 2 0
Looks like they added a "power bulge" to the lowers like rock shox does on their forks. But mentioning rebound and relating that to stiffness make absolutely no sense.
  • 14 7
Tested a Formula ThirtyFive this summer. Best fork I've ever tried. Go buy one, now!
  • 8 9
Nah I'll stick to my bos n lyriks
  • 7 2
I agree, my 35 was an amazing fork.
  • 8 0
 So many acronyms...
  • 4 1
 I know, WTF? SMH
  • 6 0
Dammit no 26" 1 1/8" steerer and 20mm axle :-( I'm never gonna be able to rebuild my patriot back up again!
  • 4 0
PinkBike had this wicked cool place under the tab that reads "buy and sell". It's magic; people from all around the world post their stuff for sale, kinda like a world-wide bike flea market. You can see pictures, read about what you're buying, and message them to negotiate a price. People trade BMX bikes, scooters, weed, and even Xbox's! I hear there are lots of relic parts your looking for and at a great value!
But seriously, just run a 27.5 fork if you have a 26. You get wicked tire clearance, and a fork to transfer on a new bike. You can even run a larger wheel up front like Zink does.
  • 3 0
@mtnbykr05: Cool story bro, I checked it already, no one wants to ship the right kind of fork to ozzy and there's no 2nd hand market here
  • 1 0
@ctd07: there are 178 26" forks for sale on PinkBike in which the customer is willing to ship globally. 4 of them on the first Europe page are 1 1/8" and 20mm axle. Just make sure to offer to pay shipping because no one wants to pay $100 to ship their fork across the world when you only paid them $300 for it.

www.pinkbike.com/buysell/list/?region=5&category=9&shipping=5&wheelsize=8
  • 4 0
You can switch compression rates. 180 mils of travel. Some of the descriptions loaded with acronyms started to bore me so i never finished readind........
  • 3 1
Wish they provided max tire clearance. 46mm offset on a 27.5+ is a pretty nice option. Currently RS is the only ones who do that with the Pike/Lyrik, but they aren't "true" Plus forks, and the a2c of the Pike and Lyrik is higher (at 471) than the Selva at 160 (465).
  • 3 0
Looks like a nice fork, but I am just ignoring all the BS and abbreviations etc. Just get me a few reviews in a couple of months, and we will see whether it is a good fork or not.
  • 2 0
The forks look good, really like the ultraviolet color option. And the new branding/decals really were an improvement over Formula's previous designs.

But maybe I just didn't see it between all the acronyms, what do the travel options translate to? 120-160 means that there are internal spacers are available to switch between different amounts of travel? So, what's different for the longer travel version, longer stanchions?
  • 5 0
Formula I can tell, this looks like a great fork!
  • 4 0
It's a good thing we can get custom stickers.... It's all about steeze in the endur-bro works
  • 9 5
Hope the fork is better than their throw away brakes.
  • 7 2
You should take a look at their new Cura brakes. They're completely reinvented, and are now using mineral oil. The bleed ports are placed in a better position, and they have a little nifty "speedlock" function on the caliber, to remove and attach the cable on the caliber.
They will be my next pair of brakes.
  • 3 6
@FrederikHP: I am going to give you a strong NO THANKS! I will stick with some brakes that are tried and true. Formula to me has dependability of Walmart quality shit.
  • 3 2
@FrederikHP: Cable on the caliper? They're even worse than i thought! I hope you mean hose.
  • 6 0
@Csmitty: I can't change the opinion of a strong independent man as you, apparently. Smile At least take a look at them, and read up on the specs.
  • 8 0
i mean dude... The Ones are kinda dope, not gonna lie. they bite hard as shit and have anazing power. mine didn't cause me any particular troubles over the course of 4 years that i had them.
  • 2 0
@stumpymidget: Sorry, Hose of course Wink
  • 4 0
That violet reminds me of undercarriage lights on a low rider. Pimp.
  • 4 0
I want this. Black with red decals.
  • 3 0
The black version with black stickers looks damn sexy but the purple version reminds me 90's mtb clothing.
  • 4 2
Purple lowers, handles berms and jumping?! All the 26er dirt jumpers are gonna love it!
  • 2 1
If it's anything like my brakes they are amazing, but will go out of adjustment if you look at it wrong. Sorry, ABWGOOAIYLAIW technology.
  • 2 1
 good one, that's very witty!
  • 3 1
Why not Trail Fork? Enduro Fork, so the manufactures can justify charging arm and leg for everything Enduro.
  • 3 1
glad someone said it. As soon as I saw "Enduro" I took a dislike to what is in all probability a great fork...
  • 5 0
Especially when the trail in the video could have easily been tamed by a Sektor or low end 32.
  • 2 1
Why the name? Selva means jungle in spanish and wood in italian... Looks like they spend too much time thinking in acronyms and not so much in the name.
  • 1 0
 Also means jungle in portuguese.
  • 6 0
I think they named it Selva to include the first lines of the Divine Comedy in their marketing video

" Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita
mi ritrovai per una selva oscura
ché la diritta via era smarrita."
  • 1 0
@madbob9: Oh, I see. Selva means forest, my bad.
  • 4 1
An enduro specific fork. Never thought I'd see the day.
  • 3 1
Unfortunately we have. A simple Formula, then the travel, then some letters and numbers would've done...:-)
  • 2 0
With all this Tech incorporated in this fork I had to check the date and make sure it wasn't an April fools joke.
  • 4 1
Wow that was UBRD!! (unparalleled bovine rectal discharge)
  • 2 0
 Yeah, Rincine Trail Area!
  • 4 1
 I love technobabble.
  • 2 0
565m should really slacken out my 29er!
  • 3 2
 Lack of stiffness with boost?
My boosted 32 forks are way stiffer than any 15qr 32 I've used before.
  • 4 2
Someone who made this needs to stay away from marketing.
  • 2 1
1 1/8" called and wants their standard back. When will a niche suspension company pull a smooth one for the relic lovers?
  • 6 0
MRP will press straight and even threaded steerers into their forks for custom orders. Relic lovers rejoice!
  • 1 0
@ninjatarian: Any info to validate this?
  • 4 0
@ctd07: Shoot them an email. Here's an example of a custom Loop SL they did w/ 1" threaded steerer- http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/download/file.php?id=287365
  • 3 0
 @ninjatarian: So good!!!!
  • 1 0
I don't care about the fork, but that song was really really nice. Sounded a lot like Brant Bjork.
  • 2 1
Is this really a 180 travel single crown 29er fork?
  • 3 0
 nope it's not... le sigh...
  • 3 2
Formuoli Formuoli, give me the Selvioli!
  • 2 1
Details on the internals would be nice...........
  • 2 1
They used the word "weapon" so... yeah... very enduro
  • 3 2
 no love for the 26"

Nevermind, i´m buying a Pike instead Big Grin
  • 3 2
Yes, if you tried to put. 26" fork in there it explodes.
  • 1 0
Are we still labeling mtb equipment 'enduro specific'?
  • 1 0
I will stick with my BOS and Manitous thanks Big Grin
  • 3 3
Just another $1,000 nothing new here
  • 3 4
If their forks are anything like their brakes I feel sorry for anyone that buys it
  • 5 1
I'm sorry you've had bad luck with them. I've been running the Formula RO's for two seasons of hard riding now an the only adjustment I've had to make was realigning the calipers when I changed rotors.
  • 6 7
Our forks suck, what can we do to market them? I got it, more acronyms! Brilliant!!
  • 18 2
 Works for SRAM
  • 3 4
@ThomDawson: Is there an easier to rebuild or more reliable fork than rockshox? Not to mention the performance is pretty good. What is your issue with them?
  • 5 0
@DirtyRider13: no, there isn't. My issue isn't with Rockshox forks, just SRAM and their constant stream of BS.
