Forrest Riesco has been a staple on the Canadian DH race scene for many years – since 2007 Race Face has been a supporter of Forrest and his progression in the DH ranks. Forrest has been charging hard the past few years, including racing full World Cup DH schedules as a privateer with consistent and solid results – in 2015 he finished the year as the 2nd highest ‘privateer’ in the World Cup DH overall standings! He has an unmistakable style and fluidity on the bike that we love to watch and when it's put together with his unwavering work ethic and spirit we know that 2017 will hold even greater things for him. Riesco's jam packed 2016 schedule of riding and racing left us with very little time to work on a video with him until recently when we sent our new in-house videographer Connor Macleod to Whistler for the last day of the Bike Park's operations on October 10th. Connor and Forrest’s goal with this video was to have the most fun possible with the time they had left to shoot before the WBP closed up shop for 2016. We think the goal of a fun edit was achieved.

Enjoy!!

So true! I'm just glad they replayed it a few times, because that was well worth watching again in slow-mo, and again from a different angle

the massive editing in the song was slightly distracting... i want to know what the rapper was trying to say hahaha
  • 1 0
Maybe because the rapper is actually a professional chef. No lie. He's a big fat dude who cooks and decided to take it to the next level

Will stand to be corrected but I think the stabilization was done in post production. Although it was more noticeable than other stabilized videos it was very captivating, and made you really feel in the moment. Solid edit

Forrest was wearing a gimbal set-up that allowed for the stable POV footage.....no post production stabilization was used! Smile

@raceface: Well done. Immediately noticed how awesome it was, about time chest cams started to capture footage like that Beer
  • 2 0
@raceface: Can you expand on that? What gimbal manufacturer? Action cam make and model? Chest harness? The market is flooded with products that don't always play well together but you clearly have it sorted out! Excellent video!

 Forrest's got some chops, alright.

Another edit with sweet riding and shit music!
  • 2 3
that music destroyed that video. with the stabilisation going on (I don't care pre or post is felt like your vision was contracting and expanding) and the music doing sort of sounding klike it was skipping it destroyed it. #alloffbikeforthewin

 That´s a sick vid!

To make the video that smooth I believe they would essentially trim off the sides of the full video clip, and then counter any shaking in the video by moving the grabbed section along with the shakes. I dont know how to put that into words very well, but I would love to know how to do that with video edititng software

You can buy a gimbal for your GoPro that stabilises it as you film
  • 1 0
Looks to be some kind of a gimbal setup. Also the quality is better than a GoPro, maybe a DSLR
  • 2 0
The new GoPro is supposed to have awesome image stabilization. It can be done in Premiere Pro with the warp stabilizer.
  • 7 0
A gimbal set-up was used....not post production tricks were need to make the footage stable and shreddy!!!
