Fox Racing Shox knows more than a thing or two about suspension, they are industry leaders in every outlet of action sports they are part of. They do one thing and they do it really well, they make suspension that works, so that you can go faster. This year the Atherton's brought home TWO World Champion jerseys on the Fox 40 RC2 and the DHX RC4 platforms.
Have a look at the all new limited edition World Champion 40 RC2 Fork and DHX RC4 Shock inside, along with an interview with Gee and Rachel Atherton.

Working directly with athletes is an important part of any relationship and getting feed back from them to improve the way products handle is invaluable. Fox Racing Shox together with the Athertons have spent a lot of time making changes to the already impressive 40 RC2 fork and now the all new DHX RC4 shock. This direct relationship has earned them not one but two World Champion jerseys this year in DH racing. Check out the specs on the race winning suspension:

Sick!
it is nice but the limited edition is a load of bull they should just sell the rc4 without all this "limited edition" crap otherwise no one will ever get one
it would be hard to decide between the two, but since this is one of those limited editions, i get disappointed, so id go for the BoXXers too...tho i luv Fox stuff..
i agree... i dont like bright stanchions like mz'z WC or fox limited edition, i preffer boxxer or normal fox color... still those are amazing
i wonder how that new rear shock compares to the double barrel now they it has high and low speed on it
So they spend time developing a new rear shock that they aren't going to mass produce, that makes absolutely NO sense
maybe there only making 200 of them so they can see what the 200 people that buy them think about the shock and maybe based upon those riders opinions they may decide whether or not to mass produce it...

Probably one of the better interviews interbike has produced. Well spoken and no "ehhm", "ehhm" every tWo seconds. Gotta love the athertons.

The avalanche is the best fork out there bar none (you just need a fist full of cash, kidney, and 3 units of O negative for one).

they are mass producing both the fork and shock, just 200 world champ editions with the stripes on them
Where is FOX's 7" freeride fork???
Like 66, totem, i think that FOX should have one too...
and those 40's are very good looking!

Fox has the 36 Vanilla. At 6.3" (160mm) I doubt it makes sense for them to either rework or replace that with a 7" fork.
cause the weight on those inverted forks are concentred on up side of the fork , while on 888 and boxxer etc the weight is in its major on the bottom, better to do curves

fox racing shox is truly the plushiest and the best..that goes to for it's female rider rachel atherton..she's soo hot i'd like to have her for dinner hehehe.. oopss. kidding
being a marrazocci guy for years i recently switchd to fox rear and boxxers on front , wow ! have ridden 40,s but prefer world cups
thats soo awesome! its really a shame they are only doing it in a limited edition. because they are probably all sold out by now and according to this it both rear shock and fork have great adjustments for racing downhill! i mean c'mon their 40 and rear shock is already pretty much the best. why not make it better and totally dominate?!
i am looking at some boXXer world cup forks and i am wondering how much turning they have because a part of the fork is up to the frame, so that could stop the fork.........
The suspension is so sick. But to be honest. I think the fork should only be bought by expert riders and up (racing) or someone who can bomb the crap out of a mountain. My reasoning is think about how hard they ride. They have to be able to make it strong enough but stiff enough so they don't blow threw there travel while racing. The forks are made for a world cup riders and they are on a whole different page then us. I have a buddy who raves for Factory Yeti and they have there suspension set up differently as well . I got to see the Atherton bikes at Rampage and it didn't even seem like they blew threw there travel like some of the riders. Most riders you could hear the tire hit the seat. But all in all its a bad as set up for anyone who is getting one.
