2016 French Enduro Series Round 3 - Millau: Saturday Practice
Practice was well under way today in Millau for the 3rd round of the French Enduro Series, riders have been unable to practice the stages before today, they were given a timing chip and times at the end of the day for their first and only practice runs.
We didn’t quite have the beautiful sunshine we’d been graced with the day before, it was cloudy most of the day, with a big rain storm in the middle of the day, which caused chaos on stage two.
The times from today don’t mean too much, but Florian Nicolai put down the fastest time in the men’s, and Anne-Caroline Chausson came down fastest by a hair’s breadth. Wow. That’s an incredible feat in itself, massive respect.
Respect.

This sun came back out in the evening and people flocked to the river.
But back to this morning, Elliot Baud (left) and on the right some rest before the big day.
The meeting point this morning was at the top of stage one, it's a few miles out of town so most people uplifted to the top.
The riders briefing took place at 8.30, just before the start of stage one.

And practice begins...
Irenee Menjou was looking quick and came in 7th today.
Dylan Levesque is normally a Downhill World Cup racer, but decided to make an appearance here today, and is sitting in 3rd on the timing.
Sabrina Jonnier is looking more and more comfortable to be out racing and she is looking as quick and stylish as ever.
A few mini drops at the start of stage one, but this guy fancied turning it into a huck.

Sebastien Claquin came into 4th place in the timing today.
After each rider hit this corner you would hear a 'wooo' or 'yeee,' a super fun section of trail.
The rain came about half way through the day today.
This made the danger more treacherous and exciting.
As soon as it came, the rain left.
The first riders down stage three had to deal with slightly slippery rocks, but this didn't cause many problems.

The bottom of stage three was like a rollercoaster, undulating mounds and loads of natural features.
