George Ryan and the Evil Insurgent - Video

Jan 28, 2016
by Pinkbike Staff

If you've ever wondered what the recipe is to a great video, this is a fine example... Throw in some killer riding, a great rider to execute said riding (insert East coast bad ass George Ryan), some sick trails, a nice bike (insert the Evil Insurgent) and lets not forget some proper music...

Yes you did! and...ohhh so refreshing!!!!
  • 21 2
Yeah finally someone who realises you can actually jump the damn things. He might want to share this insight with the EWS riders..

Only part of this filmed at moûntain creek

@Schofell i would say a ''bikepark edit'' and a nice one!
  • 39 4
Shame you have to sell your kidneys to be able to afford the frame...
  • 15 4
 It's not THAT bad...
  • 46 4
For the frame UK pricing is £2799, just over $4000 or, a Capra CF Comp delivered to your door, or my entire trip to Les Arcs then Lake Garda last year flights included. Whether or not the price is fair is matter of opinion, but it is a shed load of money for one bicycle frame.

God gave us 2 kidneys for times like these.
  • 15 1
But kidneys are an essential part of taking the piss, can't be snarky without 'em.
  • 17 1
@Fix-the-Spade That sucks.. but over here in the USA it's 2600 usd so it's actually below Most of the big brands frames...
  • 9 2
You kidding!? Not like it's Transition's ridiculous $3200 Horst link Patrol.
  • 4 0
@chyu actually looked at how much a kidney goes for a while back... only about $1500 usually, so you may as well give up both.
  • 5 1
 Get a better job
  • 3 1
@Deville64 on that note learn to weld! Get about 5 years experience and average $50-75k a year and more!
  • 7 0
you can sell you arse mores times than you can sell your kidneys
  • 2 1
@Fix-the-Spade You're kidding right? US pricing is 2800... not 2800 pounds. Evil is based out of Seattle, Washington, so their prices are in USD. You will have to contact them for your price and shipping
  • 3 1
@JumboJack, that's excellent for you, but I was talking about the UK pricing, being a Limey and all. I'm looking at a few on different retailers and the price is the same all over £2'799 sterling. If Evil would like to sell to us for $2800 USD that would be lovely.

To the COP21 : warning ! EVIL throws some carbon in the air! Big Grin
  • 14 1
At the current rate of $100000/kidney we take a race down a local trail and the slowest sells his kidney and finances the whole crew for years to come.

 Sabbath makes it extra Evil.

Obviously an awesome frame, but what's people's thoughts on the Suntour Durolux r2c2 forks, they're running? No info in the UK yet,any real riders, got any realife feedback,Do they compliment this frame,or are they a weak point.?
  • 2 0
I'm looking at them too...no reviews or stock in the UK. Found a place in Germany that has them though..
  • 1 0
Spoke to the Uk distributor (moorelarge),said they should be available in March, they'll be supplying them to retail for £375 if the are available as an individual item.Might only be on complete bikes, sure they'll be some bike snobs taking them straight off,so might be some bargains to be had.How much in Germany, and where?

I remember George ripping streets in Chain Reaction 3, it was a killer one in those years to me to watch as a teenager, and I see he still rips, but something else on such a level above the past...
  • 3 0
Loving my following and evils new bikes. But, the only issue is slackish seat angl. Wish it was 74.
Maybe they'll eventually do what SC did to bronson/solo..make minor tweaks per rider feedback.
  • 1 0
Agree. Although the following was amazig fun and super fast, I Had to sell my following because of fhe slack seat angle - ive got long legs so it put the saddle to far behind the pedals and gave me knee pain :-(

Moved to a intense spider 29c with a steeper seat angle and no pain...

Can we just come to the conclusion that creek doesn't open for almost 3 months, next season is going to be insane for mtn biking
  • 3 0
Great to see your hometown spot with a sick edit and killer rider putting it down.
  • 4 0
Well, that's one sick edit, sick rider, and sick bike.
  • 2 0
 You forgot sick tunes!

Looking for MR Ryan, need a coach one day a month to help with some DH riding for a 11 yr old. If you read this George Ryan
Let me know if this might interest you. Tex me (845) 518-8062 thanks

The music always on point in George's videos.
  • 1 1
These are sweet f*cking bikes but I just wonder if their whole metal/rebel/slayer/dirtbag branding is realistic given the price of the frame alone. Then again, I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground.
  • 1 0
That looked like that new trail at the end... May can't come soon enough. Great song and great riding!
  • 1 0

  • 4 1
depends on the job haha Wink
  • 6 2
Job is still fine, it is the kids that eat your riding time. don't take anything for granted... I do remember those times with a shitty wallmart bike, and ability to just go out and ride...
  • 6 0
Yeah it seems to be either a case of little money but lots of time or vice versa.. enjoy what you have.

Am I the only one who's bugged my the dropper post being external routing?
  • 2 1
I have an insurgent. Dropper post is internal. Derailleur and brake cables are external. Routing for the external cable look pretty sleek.
