GoPro and Pinkbike have teamed up to bring you a POV video contest like no other. Think you have the gnarliest line and can capture it in a unique way? Bust out your GoPro and start submitting those POV clips to get yourself into contention for the $20,000 and all the glory that goes with winning the raddest POV contest ever.

You. Your bike. Any Line. Anywhere.
Submit your stunning, technical, or just plain rad raw one to two minute GoPro clips and you’re eligible for the $20,000 grand prize. The judges will also be selecting the best of the month and counting on the world’s vote to select monthly winners.

 my local trails (which I made cuz I was the only downhiller in my area) had a drop of like 5 metres and took 30 seconds. I also know other things which take 30 seconds.

 Waki, you've been quite unhinged lately, perhaps a tad of anger loitering amid your words. I suggest taking your bicycle to a large hill, sit atop sit bicycle and ride down that hill. It will enlighten you, rid you of that anger and most importantly, get you back to talking guff every day. Go on young fellow, you can do it

 So sorry man, but I can say it with clear conscience - I have never chosen trolling over riding, some people just can't do that, I'd say a few people over 25 can do that and find relief in writing stuff all over the internet. For us "just go out and ride" is the one most pointless thing one can say Big Grin Cheers!

 Here in Utah I can be dropped off the top of a shuttle trail and 2900 feet of vertical later (and lower) I can coast down the street to my house.

I grew up close to the Italian Alps but I also lived in Berlin where the highest hill is 110m and it's man made. I can feel their pain.

 Looks like there is going to be some footage of me riding up the hill... I struggle to get lines over 30 seconds long without going over 2 hours away... and I only have an xc bike now... *sigh*

 my local highest point 30 m 100 ft. + it is sand still i make the best of it.
i went down 22 ft and i went down 15 ft 40 ft wise back in the days. want to get back on that... but sand is really bad for my bike.
these days i am Lucky.
there are urban north shore skinnies in a build project. barspins leave me with 2 scarves on both my upper arms...

 My brain processed it as a raw video straight from the camera/memory card. No nothing, just uploaded. So they can have free clips for their commercials too. But that's just what I got from it.

 They mean an unedited run/line so no multiple camera angles. Just one raw clip of you ripping a full line. At least that's the explanation I got.

I would like to ask a question, politely, and would appreciate a polite response since I believe it warrants an answer.

Here you are a joint partner in a contest asking people to take time, and make efforts to create media content. People will spend their time in planning their work, time carrying it out, maybe many times, before submitting it for consideration.

The same could be said of the "Photo of the Year" contest; people will spend time and effort creating shots for consideration. The deadline for submissions was mid October last year. That is three months ago.

Could I ask what has happened to all those photos submitted for consideration, because since mid there has been no movement apparently. I asked SRAM, one of the joint sponsors of the event, and their response was:

"Hi Dave, Thanks for your message. This competition was originally hosted by Pinkbike- please check in with Pinkbike for final results. Regards, SRAM USA"

 Looks like the most recent 7 entries on the “entries” page (www.pinkbike.com/contest/gopro/entries) are all invalid and should be rejected. The contest rules at www.pinkbike.com/contest/gopro/rules specify that “To participate in this Contest, a rider ("Rider") and/or videographer ("Videographer") must film with a GoPro camera between October 30, 2014 and February 28, 2015.” The most recent 7 videos (i.e. Carson Storch, Geoff Gulevich, James Doerfling, Jeff Herbertson, Makken Haugen, Mitch Chubey, and Mitch Ropelato) appear to have all been filmed during the 2014 Redbull Rampage, a month prior to the October 30, 2014 start date for the Contest. Accordingly, they are all ineligible for the Contest.

 A few things -No pro rider should be allowed to enter Added props should be given to people that live in parts of the world that don't have A bike park or World Cup corse - anything from whistler should be thrown out immediately - expand the contest date . So it's not winter in half the world

 The new Sony Action Cam HDR-AS100V is out to take GoPros lunch money. I picked one up at the Sony store the other day and it's totally sick. Live view pov with GPS and image stabilization on a wrist band plus a free carrying kit with 50 bucks off for over a $150 bucks less than a GoPro4. A new hero is in town and yes I also own a GoPro.
