Greenhorn Beginner Trail Now Open

Mountain Creek Bike Park, home to 47 downhill mountain bike trails and 10 miles of cross-country terrain is proud to announce the Grand Opening of its new top-to-bottom Beginner Greenhorn trail.

Mountain Creek Bike Park officially opened the nearly 2-mile beginner flow trail on Saturday, July 18 with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony, celebrating the culmination of two years of construction totaling 2,500 man and machine hours and 1,200 tons of dirt.

This new trail was specifically designed to introduce new riders to the thrills of gravity-fueled mountain biking by using the pitch and grades of the terrain to naturally control riders’ speeds. The Greenhorn Trail is a long awaited addition to Mountain Creek’s trail offerings, opening the world of downhill to all levels and types of riders.

"I'm super excited to see our guests riding this trail. The resort and the Trail Crew worked long and hard to bring this addition to reality,” said Marc Tremain, Mountain Creek Bike Park Operations Manager. “We have a great group of instructors and lesson programs here at the mountain and now we've given guests the terrain to take those experiences to the next level."

They never really had a rideable trail for beginners so this is an awesome addition! Should definitely get more people onto their trails.

This is a solid move! I have brought my girlfriend with me to Mountain Creek the last three years and we love it! The only thing that we thought was missing was an easy trail top-bottom. She will rip some of the blue runs but still nice to be able to get warmed up without having to navigate some of those rocky switchbacks before you get to the midway road. She took a dirt nap after about 4 runs this year so this new trail will be a great way to convince her to come back later this season and conquer those demons!!

It's a hard thing to work on a trail that isn't full of "fun" features and elements. But it is a worthy cause.

2 years seems like a really long time to build a 2 mile trail with machines.
