No World Cup in Schladming this year and that's a bloody shame. A little mud on the camera lens is a small price to pay for watching Danny rip down the track.
I've put up my downhill bike for sale with the intent of getting a more versatile enduro bike. After watching this, I'm starting to have second thoughts...
@nhp890, you could always look at getting a 180mm travel bike like the scott voltage, ns soda etc, I,ve got a 180mm yt noton pro2 and love it, it's great downhill and ok at riding back up
There's something about this type of bike I don't like. I can't put my finger on what it is exactly. I was looking at getting a Commencal Meta SX 650b in a mildly dh-oriented spec (chainguide, dh tyres)
@Rabbuit: Wish it was that easy. I also need a (single speed) xc bike, a track bike for the streets, a track bike for in the velodrome, a dirt jump bike, a street bike, and a commuter. And a freeride bike with +-120 front and rear suspension would also be nice for the freeride tracks in bikeparks.
@mark3 I have the same bike and I have to agree its the perfect middleground. I race dh on mine but I can keep up with my enduro friends too with just a couple of mods e.g 34t nw chainring and a rockshox reverb.
Technically you could ride it on a cyclocross bike if you really wanted to and have the skills for it. But it would be terrible, super slow, sketchy, and not fun at all.
@nhp890 check out the banshee darkside. Get a 2.5" stroke shock, single crown and flip the dropouts for enduro. Then a dh fork, 2.75" stroke shock and slacken the geometry back out and bam! Two bikes. I'm still waiting on my single crown fork for trying this idea out. As a dh bike it's kicking ass though.
@Mattin as a lady myself I fully believe in n+1, so do most of us that ride bikes. Women in general are not dangerous. but if you have a bad moment and end up dating a girl that doesn't ride bikes you could find yourself in trouble and having substantially less fun.
I dont think this track got the 'ripping' the title claims. If anything Danny was just having a gentle coast down to the bottom. Love to see him hit this in full race mode!!
This goes on the favorites list for study. So fluid and smooth. Makes it looks so easy! I want to ride like this in my mind when I ride!
Knee position, bike position, wow. Impossible grace on the berms.
That jump! Must have been a few hundred meters!
Would have been nice to see Danny slay the wooded-gnar sections at the 2:19 and 2:39 marks. But it is mega greasy right now and now point risking an injury before Fort Bill. Give 'em hell, Danny!!
COULD SOMEONE AT THE AUSTRIAN GOVERNMENT PLEASE RELEASE SOME FUNDS TO HELP MAKE SURE THAT THIS TRACK GETS USED BY THE UCI AS A WORLD CUP VENUE EVERY SINGLE YEAR...... fans favourite for sure!
It was Innes Graham in front i believe, Danny was filming. There's videos from a few days ago where Innes was hitting the big gap after the fire road where, in this case, Danny rolled.
Wow, this wasn't even cool. I don't know what you guys are talking about!! For starters I could barely tell what was going on do to the crappy video quality. Second this literally looks like every go-pro video I've ever seen. They are not even going fast either. Like why do all these B level riders get crappy go-pro footage put up on here? It simply doesn't make sense.
This mud on the lens looks interesting I use in downhill drift stealth camera, which is so small and sleek that it's difficult to "aim" with mud into its lens
