The course at Innerleithen for this round of the iXS European Series is muddy following recent inclement weather and this course run from Johann Potgieter of the Canfield Brothers Factory Team shows that riders will have to have their wits about them when they ride the slippery conditions underneath.
That was the best go pro video i have seen. Most video even tho they are doing stuff i could never do its just a bit boring. This video how ever was top, the extra narration made it all the better
its vary breath taking to just ride a bike and talk! NOW downhill and narrate it as you do it thats would just make you like 3X more out of breath as the average biker. cool vid though.
Damn that was intense lol , i felt like i was going to crash into a tree just watching it. VERY skilled rider and man he was ripping thru there faster then i would if it was dry ! Ha excellent video .
Amazing track. But no “catchnet” and foams on trees makes a dangerous track. Ok there are thousands of trees but some ones should have foams to protect riders from braking themselves
It's not steep enough to require catch netting and the trees are close enough to your bars that the last thing you want is a thick foam pad on it to narrow the gap further still. Trust me, I've been racing there for nearly fifteen years and we've found what works and what doesn't. In no way was that a dangerous track, it looks a lot faster than it actually was.
any good DH track is dangerous, I can see that is not like Champerry and have lots of flat parts. looks like you work as organizer. for sure in tight parts with trees close together the foam is not good, but I could see many trees that deserves a foam. but if for you is good like that, no problem.
You're right, I am involved in organisation to a degree, and have marked out a good number of tracks over the years. However, my prime involvement is as a rider, and it's from this that my comment about the pads originates. I started racing at Innerleithen in 1998 and since then then there have been very few occasions where pads have been necessary.
Would love to do an international dirt swap riiz, sliding around is fun every now and again but we all just yearn for dry flowy trails most of the time!
puts a smile on my face.
