Ike, what promise this guy has! Living out on a farm in Vuurberg, an hour out of Cape Town, he has a playground any 12-year-old shredder could only dream of. Over the last couple of years, local building OG Bennet Nel has been carving lines into their local hill with features that progress with Ike's riding. 2016 was a successful year for Ike, he traveled to Europe to compete in the U13 World Cup, where he grabbed the top step! Ike's style reminds me of some of the top World Cup guys and girls, he has incredible bike control but doesn't mind hanging it out!

so steeze
Not only is this kid fast, but the steeze!

Boom

Sequence

This off season Ike has been training with World Cup shredder and all-round good guy Johann Potgieter. Ike showing me some of his new skills, 'smashing berms'.

Step down with some scenery

Ike would like to thank his sponsors Santa Cruz, Leatt, BOS Sport and DVO Suspension for their support in his career thus far. I can't wait to see what this guy has to show us next season, keep doing your thing dude!

Someday soon I think! 12 years old, more like 12th fastest already! What a ripper! Hold on to this one tight SC as he's gonna be the future! Incredible riding Ike! I'm literally blown away that you're 12!!!!!!!!!

Lack of music and hearing birds chirp is awesome. Hope this trend continues.

The return of the killer bees, though.

I can vouch for this kid. Seen him riding for the last two years in Serfaus-Fis-Ladis in Austria at the iXS International Rookies Cup. Just need to get him over to a BDS when he's old enough to see how he fares against the Brits.

The pros need to learn how to make videos from a 12 year old(even though He probably had a team filming and editing)
No music, sick drone shots and rolling footage, great riding, and less talking. Perfect.

12 years old and a 10K$ bike... Ok I'm out....

Lucky to born wealthy, lucky to have the choice to ride all he wants. Bring it on!

well thanks to his cool dady that puts him on the v10 and the little mx, i'm working on my kids with the same path....wouldn't you do the same with your kid?
i'm sure you will...

He definitely has some kind of hook up, and you guys can bitch and moan about how he's on such a nice bike etc. but I guarantee he shreds way harder than you do and has a serious future in the sport. And to both of you, sure he has a nice bike, he grew up in an area with good riding, but don't let that discredit his natural skill on a bike. You are both just jealous that you can't shred half as hard as he does.

If you can buy a bike for $10k and sell it for $5k then the bike only costs $5k.

Well, that's what I tell my wife.

@icespec: Of course i would! As u said, with resources and a cool daddy, the kid is gonna kill it 24/7!

I heard Furberg has a lot of bushes
  • 3 0
Ha! Furgerg is on or near the top of my list of places to visit with funny names. Balzac, Alberta was a kick in the pants though, not cool at all.
  • 4 0
@VwHarman: I love going down there! Furberg that is, not Balzac!

Holy smokes, what are they feeding these kids nowadays, hell of a rider, I feel inadequate now, damn it!!!

I always find it funny that manufacturers always put kids on two stroke platforms. Some adults can't even handle the sudden surge of power. But here you go 5year old. Ride this 50cc fire breather.

12 year old with Enve wheels!?? That little shit!!
  • 2 0
If it makes you feel any better he is sponsored by Santa Cruz which obviously all their top riders ride with. My point is he's earned it if he can be sponsored by a good company Smile

Born and raised on two wheels gives good things! Way to go, Mike!

All his ""family's property"" certainly comes from his grand parents or before, when South africa was a colony of the Netherlands..... i bet they own square kilometerS ... this isnt right. It belongs to the after African people.

I'm against the fact that they show that and then 1 hour away people are starving ...... idfc about dislikes, this is true

mx and DH at a young age is all you need....... to start pretending you're Minnaar
  • 2 0
@JC9won4: lol....u right, but the kid is on the right path and his pretending is not so bad for 12 years old
  • 2 0
@icespec: Not bad at all........ THE BEST thing he could do, Shit I'm 36 and still pretend I'm Minnarr, unfortunately my imagination isn't what it was at 12, so reality hits a little too quickly haha

So jealous of those trails...and being able to ride with such steez at a young age. Keep it up Ike.
