The sun is shining bright right on time for a wonderful weekend and we are celebrating the ninth season of the iXS Dirt Masters, Europe’s biggest mountain bike gravity festival. More than 1000 riders, more than 100 brands and thousands of visitors are ready for an incredible weekend filled with both sports and parties.

Dirt Masters Day One
Valentina Höll (AUT - YT industries Spielhaus)

A first look at the weekend’s timetable already promises some high-class action: TSG Cash for Tricks, Slopestyle, Warsteiner Whip Offs, combined with some high-speed Fourcross and breathtaking Downhill races just call for a highlight of the season! Can you feel it pushing up your heartbeat already? We definitely do! Instead of watching sports events on TV, we will just take the action, the riders and the elite and bring them right to you.

Today was all about the youngest riders with the iXS Rookies Cup. Almost 200 young and extremely motivated riders pushed themselves to their personal limits and fought for the title at the slightly modified track of the bike park Winterberg. Fortunately, the sun was at its best today, and after last year’s rather disastrous conditions it was nice to have the sun guide the way through the trees.

And also the female riders showed some skills: while Jessica Kalbitz (GER) went fastest in the U19/17, Stefanie Monshausen (GER) took the title in the Women category.

The races of the Rookies Cup are always special: with extremely motivated riders and some real fast results, the races are always filled with huge excitement and fun. As a part of the iXS Dirt Masters Festival the RDC provides a perfect platform for young riders to probe, prove and expand their skills.

Over the next few days, there are lots of opportunities to watch the elite at work with the iXS German Downhill Cup. Among the starters are some of the real pros, including Ed Masters (NZL - Bergamont Hayes Team), Nick Beer (SUI - Radon Magura Factory), Manuel Gruber (AUT - Radon Magura Factory), Harry Molly (GBR - Solid-Reverse Factory) and Casey Brown (CAN - Bergmann Hayes Team).

This weekend we invite you to non-stop action and 24-hour entertainment: today we will celebrate the end of the first day with the VANS Music Night, before we enter into another day, filled with the Red Bull Berm Burners, Slopstyle contests and the Warsteiner Whip Offs.
