It is the sixth race out of seven and the iXS European Downhill Cup will once more return to Italy. As usual, the annual race in Pila lures numerous riders to the Aosta valley as it promises high-class racing on a challenging track!David Trummer (AUT - RRP Ghost)
It is simply unbelievable, with five races completed and only two more to go the season will soon be completed and this year's winners will be in the books. The last stop of the iXS EDC before the finals in Leogang will once more be Pila. After an interesting race in Val di Sol, the series returns to beautiful Italy, offering another chance to collect important points for the rankings. However, the track will be far from easy at 2600 meters in length and a difference in altitude of 520 meters since the European Cup includes the most popular, but also the most challenging tracks in one series to test the riders' skills on all levels.
To check out the track, watch last year's course check with Emile Siegenthaler:
The field of starters this weekend will be filled with 350 riders from 27 different nations. Among the starters will, of course, be some of the big names of the scene with David Trummer (AUT - RRP Ghost), who currently is the leader of the rankings, and his strongest competitor Manuel Gruber (AUT - Radon Factory Team) who definitely proved his skills at the World Cup in Windham last weekend.

Slawomir Lukasik (POL - NSbikes FroPro)
At the end of the season, the rankings will include only five out of seven results, while two results will be erased. At the moment, David Trummer sits atop the standings with a clear lead. Nevertheless, everything is possible. Especially Manuel Gruber is eager to take over the lead within the two final runs. In the Elite Women category, there is no obvious favorite yet. In Val di Sole Jana Bartova (CZE - Bikeplac Racing Team) edged out last year's winner Zarja Cernilogar (SLO - Blackthorn GT) in the rankings, but a few points would suffice to alter the standings again.
