In September Jaws and crew headed to Livigno for a quick trip to test out brand new Antidote Bikes Darkmatter prototype. Italian rocky slopes seemed to be the best for Jaws to test the bike that was built one week before the trip. From the premise, the frame was designed for 27,5 wheels, but Jaws put 26' wheels because 26's ain't dead!

bigquotesWe had a big luck with the weather, most of the time it was very bad, mornings started with the rain showers but after the sun came out, it was time to hike! In the end we managed to ride and shoot in the Alps. We didn't go there to ride in a bike park. I wanted to shoot pure freeride. I've been to Livigno before and I saw there some huge lines. This time, I finally went there just to ride them. - Jaws.

When you are ready to drop in after 50 minutes of hiking, and you're thinking: "okay there was one more bottle of the water at the bottom". About 40 seconds later, your desire is fulfilled.

One of the steep wild slopes with partly hard ground which was quite tough to brake on.

The Darkmatter has been well tested!

Why do I love the way the Dorado looks?
  • 2 1
IT does look good, USD maybe.

You like 'em beefy? Wink The moto style and added thickness of the guards balances nicely with tubing sizes. A little less chicken leggy looking.

Ill be honest. I don't like Dorado forks at all. The ascetic doesn't appeal to me whatsoever. With one exception...this thing looks mean!! I may have a new outlook on Dorados...

Yes Dorados are beatiful! I'd love to have one. With coil spring and Ohlins damper inside...

@WAKIdesigns: Whats wrong with the stock damper? Feels pretty dialed.

 @WAKIdesigns:Perhaps you'd rather have this?

I hope they come out with an upside down fork!

Agreed! Many years ago in a different life I had one on my shop demo bike. Great ride, great aesthetics, good conversation piece!

Because its tubes are in the proper places. Chicken legs are ugly on a fork as they are on a woman. Inverts look better because they just are, better.

UNNO dh bikes are damn sexy too ! But they didnt prove their abilities until now since they re not available yet

 What - like a bike?

An aesthetic triumph, to be sure...
  • 1 1
I´d say the UNNO has proven itself already under Cesar Rojo with a masters world champs win :-)

I think that bike is the sexiest DH bike out there. And that is a competitive field. I would sleep with the darkmatter. I would hang it on my wall. I would take it out to dinner. I would love it and cherish it. Oh and I'd probably ride the hell out of it.

If you had a choice I bet you'd ride that bike, with THAT fork, down that line.. I know I'd be there in a heartbeat...you prob don't have that option neither do I so enjoy your local trails on the bike you're on!!! Snow is falling on the gnar in my home town. now the gnar has a layer of gnar on it, shred that too!!!!!!

And now compare number of comments under ugly carbon bike, and under beautiful carbon bike. Not to mention that Paul will not write a separate article on it Smile This is what marketing is all about (I mean not Antidote's marketing, it is not enough to have great vid of great rider on a great bike - this is boring).

Comments are not everything my friend... but I agree, a fantastic bike!
