In this sequel to Joe's 8 Wild Terns, Joe sets about taking on the infamous and treacherous Slop Mountain. It's one hell of a wild ride in the filthy conditions and Slop Mountain delivers its finest!
Around here, there are peeps who would have their panties in a bunch if you even thought about riding trails that wet.
And amazingly...the trails are still there after he is finished!
Dusty ain't great. California has been getting amazing rain and it's been so refreshing riding wet and muddy trails. I prefer a dry day after a rain. Utter perfection.
Some whiny dry weather riders (mostly americans i think) kicked up a huge fuss on IMB a few weeks ago about a video of Ratboy riding revolution bike park in the wet - a for profit bike park where he had been digging and was allowed to ride. I guess a lot of people don't realise that if us brits didn't ride wet sloppy trails, we wouldn't ride at all for 11 months of the year.
sam- That's so absurd, haha. There are certain areas where you shouldn't rip on wet trails because it completely f*cks them up for the rest of the season, but this... doesn't look like one of those. Good lord was he ripping so fast... almost too fast because you can't get a sense of how steep/gnar those sections are.
I don't get this imba trail thing there are like there are about 60 withing 40 min of where I live all built by mountain bikers. Can't you just go talk to the local government and find an area that is currently unused and start building a trail network run by mountain bikers for mountain bikers planting trees etc. We started off with like no money and now have about 300K a year in funding from grants and the council because they see its working.
My point was, they were complaining about ratboy shredding on an open bikepark trail, that people pay to ride and has regular maintenance, and looks very much like this. Some people need to get a grip. Obviously there are trails that probably shouldn't be ridden in the winter - and they're usually the ones that are shit to ride anyway.
Awesome soundtrack! Awesome riding, not too long, best video I've seen this year. Props to the bloke who filmed it for going out there in that slop. Great choice of music too mate! I'm going to watch it again now and crank it up. 19 years AD and still awesome as shit!
Exactly. I've seen so many edits with Joe riding in slop. I would think that "Joe Barnes' Chief Bike Cleaner" would be the worst job in the world...and most of us would probably sign up.
SteveDekker, if you had watched more than one of their vids you would of noticed they use alot of old school rap/hiphop. It's not my 1st choice in music but it's kind of a signature of their vids.
The Dudeumentary's all have awesome soundtracks, and none of that raphop. Maybe the filthy conditions and slop inspired the rap, but actually they do use nearly every form of music in their vids. They are all killer by the way, but I have'nt watched them all.
Outtakes please.
