Scott Enduro Cup 2015

The Scott Enduro Cup presented by Vittoria will kick off the 2015 competition season on May 9 in Moab, UT, featuring Klondike Bluffs as the exciting new race location. Event organizers have been working closely with the Bureau of Land Management and Grand County Trail Mix to bring the event to the Klondike Bluffs trail area for the first time. Course details will be announced soon. Registration is still open and filling quickly at EnduroCupMTB.com. Athlete categories are open for all levels of riders both women and men.

"A major goal for the Enduro Cup is to create the best experience possible for athletes while helping to progress the sport of Enduro racing. Hosting the Moab stop at Klondike Bluffs this year is an incredible opportunity for Enduro Cup as we continue to provide fresh and challenging race terrain for our athletes. We hope everyone will come ride with us." - Ben Nelson, Event Director.

Moab is an iconic mountain biking location that embodies an adventurous outdoor culture accompanied by stunning scenery. The Klondike Bluffs trail area provides a variety of terrain including slickrock, wooded and dirt trails. These trails feature swooping curves, slickrock raceways, rock-paved bench cuts, technical ascents, and incredible views of Salt Valley and Arches National Park.

"Moab is always a fun place to ride, there is just nothing like it in the world," said multi-year Enduro Cup veteran, Ross Schnell, in response to his second win in a row at the Moab stop. "It's the perfect place to hold an event like Enduro Cup." Schnell won first place in the Enduro Cup at Moab in 2013 and 2014.

Enduro races challenge riders' physical endurance and technical downhill skills making it an excellent discipline for riders of all ability levels. Three races will take place this season at Moab, UT, May 9th, Sun Valley, ID June 27-28th and Canyons Resort, UT August 15th. Spectators and athletes may view live timing results throughout the race on ItsYourRace.com and the ItsYourRace App. To kick off the season, Enduro Cup and Cycling Utah magazine are hosting the Utah premier for the film, The Rise of Enduro, at Brewvies in Salt Lake City on April 23 at 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. MST.  I think racers will find this to be a great race. There are Strava segments setup that can give you an idea of what they'll race, but it'll probably Baby Steps, Mega Steps, and Alaska. It's a solid day of pedaling, usually racking up about 3500 vert over ~22 miles to do all three.

The Ho-down is over Halloween weekend, it is our end-of-season party so a darn good time, and we raced Ahab and Hymasa Last year. Come because it's a great time to be in Moab, and the race supports our little, but solid bike park. Lastly rumor is that the folks hosting the Monarch Crest Enduro will be hosting a Whole Enchilada race, but seriously? Everybody's over actually racing that trail. How about this: Catch the shuttle, beat everybody up the climb, and then try to make it off the top, to the river in less than 2 hours.

Would be cool to incorporate the La Sals into this event. Eventually a 2-day race in Moab like Sun Valley? Hell make them all 2-day.

Niiice, the Mag 7 trails seemed more like a sprint XC race so this will be awesome.

Have you ridden there much? The downhills are over before you know it and you will be sprinting more than you think. I personally wouldn't want to race there, and would rather ride Ahab or Porcupine Rim. But at least the price is cheaper.

Nah mate, first time in the bloody States Wink There are some sections that are very fun sustained descents with minimal climbing and with these races, they can break it up over sections of trail that are in the same system. Its not ideal for what I think is a true enduro race (over the whole series the DH trail at Sundance and Insurgent to Lower Holly's at Canyons were the best stages) but it will still be better than Mag 7. You can race on Porcupine, its called the Moab Ho-down. Ahab would be sick but then again getting in a car and traveling to the next stage on top of doing a regular XC ride to get back to the cars would be whack.

Ahab/Amasa Back, or Porc would be RIDICULOUSLY awesome for this. They're also my favorite trails in Moab haha.
