The boys hook up with Graham Agassiz and Matty Miles to get loose on some coastal loam. Brandon and R-Dog then hit up some secret Vancouver dirt jump trails before heading to the premiere of Brandon’s film, Rad Company. Along the way we get to see some behind the scenes of the coastal rain segment with guest rider Nico Vink.
Think about how many shots in other videos are set up. You ever seen any buddies roost a 4 foot wave of dirt? Probably not because you have never thrown down a ton of loam on a berm before hitting it. Its a movie man, everything is set up and shot to look a certain way. Just have to appreciate it for what it is I suppose.
Yeah man, and I'm like so totally yanked at how they photoshopped that drop they hit in the life behind bars intro!! First Star Wars then Indiana Jones and now bike movies? Come on guys, its getting outta hand with all this computer trickery. Hell they shouldn't even color correct the shots. It should be as raw as possible as to not distract people like coolbeans and myself.
As a filmmaker and editor in the industry, well said my friend. It is an art. We all look for ways to make something different and unique. Progression in riding is the same as progression in filmmaking.
i loved the fake rain part. When ever something is new and unique its fun to watch i dont want to see the same thing every movie. Rad company did a good job of making a unique movie every section is different and has a theme and it was all made for the movie. If they just filmed stuff like a line and things that everyone has seen before it would not be nearly as fun to watch
Agree. People are whinging about a little bit of creative license need to check out Sherpa Films 'Into the Mind'... now THAT is overkill: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WdBgqZ4ZbY
Lol yup, into the mind took it way too far.
I'd say in part the rain can be justified because it's not unreasonable for those conditions to avtually exist but its much more difficult to film in real rain.
NOOOO we need this it gives us inspiration to do what wee want and live how we want!!! If you take this away how will I get pumped for mtb when I go out know!! DONT DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!
me and my buddies when we were 8 would always bike down the train tracks just to go see if someone was shredding those dj jumps, its crazy cool to finally see someone hit them!
i think it wouldve been better if they had waited for real rain i think it wouldve looked better, the riding was insane in that part and i liked the song but the fake rain looked kinda weird
I'd be more shocked if you didn't realise the rain was fake. Tbh I wasn't a big fan of that particular section but overall I thought Rad Company was awesome. Well worth the money.
choose a wheel size and be a dick about it
