Total legend! I have 13% burns at third degree and know that it's all mental, just Horta get on it. I rode solidly throughout my rehab almost everyday if the skin tissue allowed (tough some days as it was predominantly my hands that bore the brunt of it) but it now means I can live a pretty normal life, if I hadn't have ridden as much then, my right hand wouldn't be any use now. Proper trooper this guy, that's great work & wishing you all the best for the 2016 season!

Top vid and very inspiring, good work and good luck for the 2016 season :-)

In fact that was so inspiring that I am tempted to give up the rat race, buy a Landy and become a full-time adventurer :-)

Had the pleasure of meeting Jamie during the 2014 trans savoie, he's a real nice guy lent me a waterproof coat when the weather was bad as my clothing got delayed by easy jet. It was the slowest that coat ever went. Thanks again Jamie and good luck in everything you do.

hiking with a jack hammer strapped on your back, overcoming a death defying burn -- to podium in a 6 day beast of an enduro - jeez. I'll be showing this video to my two boys as to what it means to be a man. Helluva inspiration Mr. Nicoll.

Mate I was thinking the same, if this isn't enough inspiration to dominate 2016 nothing is.

Great video, glad to learn of ur story Jamie, keep the drive alive, this was inspirational, I was burnt 40% face an body 3rd an 2nd degree(amongst other injuries) and ridings the only thing that keeps my head on straight, way to follow ur passion and keep the focus strong, thx for what u've given to the sport, congrats on ur successes man

Had the pleasure of working with Jamie in South America and he's seriously one of the toughest guy's I know. Absolute legend on and off the bike and huge inspiration to alotta people back here in NZ. To come back this strong from such a terrible accident in such an isolated place is nothing short of a miracle. All the best for next year Jamie!

Being burned is really bad apparently. I remember falling by a campfire, and burning the side of my leg when I was six or so. It sucked for a few days, and took forever to fully heal. Apparently burns are one of the more painful things that can happen to a person.

I watched one of those health and safety vids for a site I worked on, the vid was about a guy who worked in an oil refinery, basically the guy cut some corners in a process and ended up with some thing like 90 percent burns, including burning of his LUNGS where some vapours got in and then got ignited, he said when he screamed flames shot out of his mouth

Was probably the most shocking and horrific H&S video I ever seen, he described the years of " peeling " he had to go thru to prevent his whole body from scabbing up, I felt like throwing up and crying and I didn't even have the pain he did !

It's worth watching the video if you can find it, though it's quite depressing at times, it's probably the only safety vid I ever watched that actually had an impact on me.

Here ya go vimeo.com/121077965

saw this guy take out a Marshall while cutting a course. guy just got clobbered. not saying it couldn't have happened to anybody (including me) or that he's a bad person or anything...just that whenever i read about him....it's the first thing that comes to mind. I think I just need to get over it.
