A few weeks ago I picked up the new Patrol from Transition and met up with videographer Jack Anderson in Seattle for a few days of shooting. Jack and his friends cut a new trail through some classic northwest forest that was a prime spot to put the Patrol through it's paces. With inches of fresh dirt, moss, leaves and pounding rain, we came up with Loam Patrol. Enjoy!

I also like the music choice, (prepares for the hate) it made the video feel fun and not too serious. There are other videos that do this too. My point being that not everything needs to be "epic". Dub-step, trance, and imagine dragons get played out real quick. Too many mountain biking videos take themselves way to seriously for what this sport is.
The Patrol is 3500 USD / 3900 CAD ish, but the parts speck is no where comparable. First off you get a Monarc plus RC3 Debonair, and a Pike RC, race face ride cranks with NW sprocket, lower end SLX der, Sram AKA formula sealed bearing hubs, and Hive 42 extended range rear cog, same Deore brakes. Also comes with Scwhabble magic marry and Razor Rock tires. Very few corners cut. at most the norco has the XT der.
The price difference for the upgraded suspension, sealed bearing hubs and race face speck is well worth the extra $$$. especially if your already dropping that kinda cash.

I was torn between black or orange, build up or stock, and then Belmont Wheelworks in MA put the orange medium Patrol 3 they had in stock on sale for 3325! Awesome bike and awesome price! $3666 with the dropper post and needs nothing!
Still waiting for all the snow to melt before I can give real ride impressions but so far I can tell it is a wheelie/manual monster!
Truthfully I'd invite you to ride with me, but if Duthie and Galbraith are easy for you then you are above my skill level and I would hold you back. I am still improving at Duthie and it really is a great place to learn to ride. I like to progress at my own pace. I finally got a bike worthy of riding everything. Before I was on a hardtail 29. I felt very limited on that bike. I am ready to do more now.
