If I had a Million dollars, (Background*: 'if I had a million dollars....') It better be in USD cause the Canadian peso ain't worth anything but fire starter!
Pfft, no one said it had to be an environmentally friendly fire starter! But in all seriousness I am absolutely unable to buy from Price point/Jenson and even CRC cause the pricing is so outrageous and everything I have is going towards paying the bills.
$3300 usd for the intense m9. May be sleeping on the couch if the wife sees another bike getting delivered. Haha. Pinkbike can you send me a letter saying I won it or something?
Well, i live in California where my $ isnt worth nearly what its worth a state or two N or E. But, we got year round surf, mtb, and pretty girls....dang population outta control tho errrrr
Maybe this is old news but Jenson has Zee brakes for $105/each. That's cheaper than any I could find on the buy/sell here. Just a heads up for those looking.
Challenge your LBS to match...you may be surprised! I don't work for one but I do this regularly and they get really close if not match before tax. Plus if something breaks they've got your back.
Yeah I work for the biggest one where I live....so it hurts my employer more than myself. I don't envy the owner. I do agree, a lot of price matching can be done...
Thanks PinkBike for sales information!!!! I hope you will give this information really regular. I am currently building my new bike and I have got the fork already, but its not as good as I want to have. So I am now out of money but soon I will store up some money and if I see then some information like this I would be happy! So I hope to see this information really often! Thanks a lot!
@RedBurn Not sure what are you refering to, but not long ago I've bought m8000 drivetrain from hibike for 195€ (m8000 mech, casette, shifter and xtr chain)
It's essentially the same as the Hammerhead Thumper (also similar to Kona Satori - same front triangle, but this has Horst rear end). Lots of info here : www.pinkbike.com/forum/listcomments/?threadid=160449. I have one and I like it a lot.
If you have ridden the O/C CTD Damper Cartridge you would know that's no quality. it bottomed out like crazy it had no support once you got to a certain point in travel. Those forks between 2012 and 2015 are trash. I haven't ridden the 2015 RC2 or the damper FIT4 damper but everyone who I talked to said it was a big improvement. The Yari would make a much better fork than those.
The O/C damper is terrible, but the nice thing with fox is that you can retrofit the new damper in it. I realize thats not all that cheap, but that would bring it to around $1000 all in, and you would practically have new fox fork. I have a 2013 36 Talas with the RC2 damper, and I added an SKF seal head and the gold oil and it made a massive difference. It feels almost as smooth as the 2016 version.
I am looking to buy either a FOX 36 29er or a Yari (then upgrade to the charger damper later) but the Canadian Peso isn't doing so good right now. Hopefully I get a new fork buy late spring.
No matter how good the deals are, I still gotta go to my lbs. I'm gonna have Matt from Stout build me some bars for my bike and told my lbs I would give them $20.00 to give me the rise and sweep measurements I need just to keep them in the loop. (they said free of charge, but I'd feel to guilty) I only felt ok with this as Stout is custom craftsmanship my lbs could never do it. Without my lbs I wouldn't be biking. Loyalty goes a long way to patching up this crumbling world we ride in.
So Canadian dollar seems not a bad thing)
But, we got year round surf, mtb, and pretty girls....dang population outta control tho errrrr
No joke I just ordered a near-complete XT M8000 drivetrain from them for under $200!
I have one and I like it a lot.
