Damn that sucks, I know what it feels like to lose your house to a fire, the pictures remind me so much of when I arrived at my house, charred stuff all over with little to be recognized or worth saving. Wish you luck for a quick rebuild and to return your home into well, home again.

o my god he lives in my town i've never heard of him, i feel so bad,and i respect him, hope he and his family are o.k. and hope they find a place to stay while they're rebuilding his house!!
- + 3 Show
especially for being a rider in novato everyone has heard of him hes the best ripper in this town
- + 2 Show
It's great to see that he maintains a positive attitude and a sense of humor and looks for the good, even in this terrible situation. And its a pity about the bikes, but luckily he has great sponsors who will replace his bikes. He's a legend and will have no shortage of friendly people to help him out i'm sure, and hey, though it sucks he lost his house, he'll get a brand new one!
- + 2 Show
True, But I know exactly what he's going through. As an 11 yr old kid, it sucked. Having a beautiful house destroyed with everything in it destroyed, along with memories of the place is horrible. But I will admit my house burning to ashes was a good thing because of all the new shit.
- + 2 Show
Yea same, I miss my old home, memories are all that remain but I wouldn't trade my new house for the old one.
Hope the insurance people don't low ball Mark like so many other before.

wow, the rims on the car melted but not the spokes or the rotors on the bike, that certainly says alot for the components
best of luck to you tho
best of luck to you tho
- + 2 Show
I noticed that as well, funny how the rims on the car are bigger hunks of aluminum so in theory they would take longer to melt than the bike parts but i guess having the burning tire around the wheels sped that process up.

shitty, but it says this guy is only an employee for a company? many people everywhere lose everything they have and unfortunately lots of them lose their lives, something he still has. i mean, its still really bad that he lost everything, but this happens a lot everywhere in the world and people come out worse than him. this guy is only an employee for the company and so i dont really see why it was posted? i'm gonna get neg-propped to the max but ah well
- + 4 Show
So why don't we post a news article about every person in the world when they lose their house, sound like a great idea? He may not be the most important person in the biking community but he is a biker, and we look out for each other. This is bike related news, do you see why it was posted now? Something unfortunate happened to a fellow biker, that's why this was posted.

im sure something unfortunate has happened to many, many people within the biking community

My boss lost her home in some of the wildfires down here in CA and it was truly terrible but, thankfully, they were traveling when it happened. He and his family is alive, that's why. The rest are just inanimate objects, that's all they are, worthless piles of trash that can be damn fun to have and use while time permits. I admire Mark's attitude. May I take note and learn from their losses. He knows what's up. Mark is truly a lucky man and father. Unlike the 1 in 17 families that live off of zero income and receive only food stamps to survive on. Their homes will not return to them as quickly a Mark's family's will. The sick thing about all of this is that their homes are probably still standing. In my opinion, it's better to have a fire ravage every possession than to have the scum on Wall St. and Washington Ave. f*ck up our lives, but what do I know, sitting here warm and comfortable in front of my nice computer, typing as if Mark is my best friend. Be strong life is short.

What a crushing blow to life. Being a new home owner, I can slightly tell what this would be like. Without a doubt Mark is lucky to still have his family safe and sound. If he is really lucky, it’s all just material items like his bikes that can and will be replaced. Here is to more good luck in the New Year Mark.

Thank you all. It’s a crazy feeling to know that everything you ever had is gone. I’m sure like most of you the garage is the place you spend most your time. The place where you get to know people better and always have plenty to talk about. It took me 36 years to fill that space and only 30 minutes to lose it all.
Setbacks like this make you realize what’s really important.
I few thing I have learned.
Get good insurance. One that will cover all your bikes. Not just one.
Get full coverage on things you love. I just finished restoring a 86 CJ7. It was not covered.
Hardwire your smoke alarms. So when they go off in the garage you can hear them in the house.
People that ride bikes are the best people I know.
Cheers to a simple life with good friends.
Thanks for the support
