Marzocchi Suspension is back on board with the Pinkbike.com/Devinci DH Team for the 2008 season. Marzocchi has supplied our team with ROCO World Cup rear shocks and 888 RC3s and 888 WC ATA front forks. Our team will be pinning it across the rough stuff with confidence this year.

Marzocchi Canada came through again with a bunch of goodies for our riders. For front forks, the guys will be running the 2008 888 RC3 forks, while the lucky ladies will be rocking the 888 ATA WC. All members will be racing on the ROCO World Cup rear shocks.
What's the difference between the RC3 and the ATA 888s you might ask? Well, without having to go to the Marzocchi website, I'll let you know. The ATA system is air sprung as opposed to coil springs and features an Air Travel Adjustment (hence ATA). This means that the ATA is lighter due to the air spring and that the gals can lower their front ends by 40mm for better stand over and a more aggressive riding approach for various courses.
The 888 is Marzocchi's high end downhill fork and is designed to take abuse, and stand up to the roughest conditions that are thrown at it. The 888 RC3 is built with 200mm of travel which is coil sprung. With 38mm stanction tube's, the 888s are designed to be super solid even on the hardest hits, something our team riders are known for finding.
The 888 ATA WC features a 200mm to 160mm adjustment through the ATA system, and 38mm Nickel Coated Alloy Stanchions just to make them slide that much smoother. They also feature the same RC3 dampening system as the RC3s, something Marzocchi is very proud of. Let it be known, these forks are "butter out of the box".
Onto the ROCO World Cup, this rear shock features external High speed compression, external rebound adjustment, and external bottom out resistance through the air valve. As well as those features, it also has the ability to alter spring pre-load. What this means is you can adjust the initial resistance that the shock is providing against your body. The team will be warming up the shock oil in these puppies and letting them rip all season long.
The team is super stoked on the suspension Marzocchi has provided them with, and we're sure that the team will be just as stoked to kill it on courses all over this year.

The 888's are still going stronger.Love mine 888 ATA WC it's so awesome
ive got the new 66's. their smooth and flush. brilliant forks.
does the 888ATAs have the same problems of beeing stuck down in the travel like the 66 and 55 ATAs??
i rode with a kid the other day he could push it up to 8 but as soon as he did a drop if would stay down at 7 inches, but marzo will fix it for u
thats them sagging under their own weight, and its a good thing
Not at all iv'e riding the ATA WC for 1 month now with out any problems to mention.
the 888's have to be my favrite fork ever
there evry bodys favourite
there no everyones favorite. the roco is an amazing rear shock, but the 888s are shit. evereyone should ride 40s and boxxer world cups.
not everyone can afford those products plus they arent even necessary
yeah,for sure...
Boxxers are "Undestructable" (joke of course) and if U ride without sponsor U might have problems with Ur cash to ride them for a long time.
they're great for DH racing but they suck in FR.
foz is f*cking expensiwe,2 times more expensive than 888 rc3.
and they don't work as smooth as 888.
furthermore they are much easier to broke than 888.
so,the 888 are the greatest fork ever.

i wanna see a full bike build up...
Soon you'll see the finished product.
my buddy is buying one next week hes excited
like these 888s, cool design!
just got an 08 zocchi 66 ATA and it was butter out of the box too...not to mention that its stiffer than the totem and WAAAY stiffer than a 36.
and ya fox is so plush cuz there a racing company along with rockshox
wrong stiffness. he means laterally and rotationally, not how the dampening feels
i dono no matter what i still think that fox and rochshox are wayyy better race forks, because its all they focus on,whereas the 888 probaly is better for everything else, they mite be getting better each year for dh but a wc is better for racing, but a 888 has more adjustment then you need anyway and can go years with a great feeling and zero maintance.
i like the 888's the shape looks nice and the detail is great but those decals will be out dated to fast. they look a bit tacky for me but other than that they look ace.
weight at 3800g (888 rc3) is quite a lot for a "dh racing fork". fox 40 and boxxer RLZ!
Marzocchi forks are starting to date themselves.. They were the best thing going back in 2000 - 2004. No one could touch them. The Marzocchi lineup still does well with freeride but nowadays you'll get better performance weight from a boxxer/fox as a race fork. Lets see how the Roco compares to the Vivid.
i had a roco no so long ago but the casing on the piggy back developed a crack. probably a manufacturing error but i got a refund and brought a vivid. still haven fitted it yet as im still waiting on the mounting hardware.
the rc3 is amazing. im lucky to own one.
monster t are much better
Looks like a lot of oil changes in you future
love the 888'and 66's but fox 40 and talas 36 are where its at
Personally I thought they got uglier than the older models. 38mm stanchions are unnecessary. and the loss of the M-arch. Its all just tpo try and copy rockshox and fox. and 3800g? thats 8.4 pounds
the M-arch cause the axle-to-crown height to be too high, making the front end ride funny. its good they got rid of it.
i never noticed any problem with it. the back of the new arch is so hollowed out its probably weaker.
i meant to say to* try and copy. but anyway everything they make now is made in China or Taiwan or whatever instead of Italy. only the top model is made in Italy now. They make a lot of money why can't they make em all in Italy they sure can afford it. And ya the decals are gross
say what you will, and i do agree with you guys on some points but not all.
Yes, you can argue that Fox and Rockshox make a better race fork b/c thats where the focus is. I'll tell you through experience of owning ALL THREE that a Marzocchi will last FIVE TIMES LONGER WITH NO MAINTENENCE.
If you are a joe-schmo all-mountain/freerider/occasional Whistler trip guy like me, you'll probably be happier with a Marzocchi in the long run because of pure reliability and price (not that a 888 or 66 is cheap!)

.....but if I were racing DH, I'll admit that I'd take a Fox 40 as my first choice. Wait oh no! Sam Hill rides a Boxxer!!! I better get that instead! Seriously, who cares what the "best" is? That is a subjective statement. They all work great. Fabien Barel won a WC with a Kona Stab (regarded as shit to many), so clearly its the rider, not the bike or components. I'm sure if Sam Hill had a 888, he'd have still won the championships.
except the fact that all pro riders' forks are far from stock in regards to setup and internals anyways...
true. like the blackbox thing that only the world cup level rockshox riders have or something like that?
i like the look of the 2006 2007 888's better
True.. Rider skill is the main component. I've been riding 66's for the past 3 years and nobody passes me on the trails at Whistler. I love my 07 66 eta. I don't like how everything is being made in China or Taiwan now though.
why was this comment negative propped?
i got soe of these new forks....there awsome and the graphics are mint (imo)...
Roco needs some work they suck.
iv got the 08 66 ata they r so nice
the feel realy strong bet that what the 888 feel like

888's do kick ass
888's do kick ass
I have had 888's and 66 loved them both and truely a reliable fork with low maintanance thru the season my Fox 40RC was an awesome fork as well. I am trying out the Totem Solo Air to see how good it is this year. I loved riding the single crown 66 as a do it all fork last year. If I hate it its back to Marz for me!
gooo devenci
f*ck yea
