Marzocchi has just released information on a works for that they've put together for one of their riders that is built using updated gold ti-nitrate coated stanchions that not only look the business, but should add an extra bit of sensitivity that Marzocchi forks are already well known for. Besides the stunning looks and improved smoothness, the ultra silky surface treatment can have the added benefit of offering a smoother and better surface for the fork seals to work with. The sliders are also still teflon impregnated as well. This should all add up to a fork that is as sensitive as an emo teenager kid, but a whole lot more fun to abuse. It's also worth mentioning that the process and chemicals used for these stanchion tubes is different than found on some other options available on mountain bike forks today.
There is goodness to be found on the inside as well though. Polished bushings, teflon oil additive, tweaked oil level heights, as well as a custom valved shim stack that is tuned for the riders weight and preferences.
As of right now there is no official word on availability or cost, but there are whisperings of it being available to regular peons in 2011 as either a complete fork or possibly a works upgrade with a few different stanchion color options.

I tested the fork before it came in to production (check my profile)
We had at hand a fox and others, not only our fork came a few ounces ligther, the 888 is the only fork that can be serviced by your local bike shops, shim and stack system can be adjusted at marzocchi at no xtra cost to you (170.00 for fox)
Maybe you have better credentials and wish to clarify this.

1. The tube is aluminum not steel like the boxxer.
2. It is nickel plated and then ti nitride coated.
3. The fork has 38mm stanchion tubes and is only 6.5lbs
4. It is dead SEXY!!!!!!
Sounds like you haven't been inside of either fork that you've mentioned... Just because the stanchions happen to have a similar color? Massively different forks, obviously.
..Where is the Face-palm icon ?? lol
"1. The tube is aluminum not steel like the boxxer."
Uh.. I have never known any Boxxer to have steel stanchions.
here it is
in short:
"Molybdenum disulfide, a lubricating material, is deposited by electrical induction inside countless pores in the formed anodized aluminum (anodicoxide) film.
The molybdenum accumulates in the micropores of the anodized aluminum to fill them in.
A combination of “hardness + lubrication” can be achieved with approximately 70 billion pores per 1 cm2. As a result, the abrasion resistance of Kashima Coat is drastically improved and significantly higher than that of hard anodized aluminum.
There are high expectations for Kashima Coat as a revolutionary new material, and it is being adopted across a wide range of fields."
got it? ok ! :p
These forks will no doubt blow any other product away, but will cost an absolute fortune!
