Locally sourced, Sean “Griz” McClendon has been hired to manage the BIKE division. The resilient Pine Valley, CA native was a natural selection for the Brand Manager position with his motocross influenced gravity racing heritage, industry relationships and entrepreneurial spirit.

At Maxima, we have a proven track record and the capacity to develop product in house which gives us an advantage over our competition. Combine vertical manufacturing and development with the best athletes in MTB and the end result will be the best lubes, bicycle care products and MTB suspension fluids available globally, period.” - Griz, Maxima BIKE Brand Manager.

To set the record straight on PLUSH - This suspension fluid is much more than "re-branded" oil. PLUSH is a brand new formula with a viscometric profile perfectly matched to meet the specific demands placed on MTB suspension systems. The technology in PLUSH considers unique performance attributes, such as breakaway torque, inertia, operating temperatures and internal components. Proven performance found in some of today's leading systems (e.g., Charger damper in Pike and the redesigned Boxxer.) PLUSH will not crossover for motorbike or automotive use and will be exclusively available at your local shop or suspension technician. Stay tuned for more info.

We use the Maxima products across the board at the shop. We also ride the products. The new bike line is and has been thoroughly tested not only by the manufacturer but by local shops and riders. They have taken all feed back and created some of the best products out there if not the best. This is definitely not re-branded moto stuff in fancier bottles. This is quality mountain bike product by mountain bikers.

Been using maxima products in my MX bike for years and still use the suspension clean on my forks on my MTB love the products and will now use the new stuff.

@MaximaBike I probably missed out somewhere. But do you guys have a date when it will be out?
I'll be the first to buy the Plush oil from you guys.
  • 1 0
Sorry, @enduro94 No definitive date at this time as we wait for lab test results. We are looking forward to getting Plush to you!

I'm all for trying new bike maintenance products but i'm forever finding myself returning to my usual lubricants and cleaners. Maybe Maxima could be the company to make me change after many years.

Been using Maxima motorbike fork oil on my mtbs for a while now, it's good stuff, hopefully the bike stuff will be just as good and no more expensive.
  • 5 6
Of course it is more expensive, look at their website. I am using their moto stuff too and will continue so for my mtb, I am not paying extra for the two words "bike specific". Nice try though. But to be fair, many riders enjoy being ripped off because, more expensive must be better.

There suspension clean is the shiznit!! Cleans out oils evaporates quickly and leaves no residue. It also smells really good too.

I love their moto suspension fluids. If there isn't a huge markup on the "bike specific" stuff (prob will), I may give it a try. This looks kind of wd40's bike line.
  • 3 0
Just looked up their mtb stuff on their website, 10WT MX 'racing' fork fluid is £111 for 5 gallons, 10WT 'Plush' MTB fork oil is £175 for the same amount.
  • 3 1
yikes, guess they gotta pay for the marketing.
  • 3 1
Their bike stuff is amazing. Well worth every penny. The biowash and Sc1 keep my bike looking fresh and the chain lubes, suspension cleaner, and oils keep my bike running as good as it looks. I've honestly never been so impressed by a brand

I've been getting biowash from my local shop for awhile. Works awesome. SC1 works good as well, especially on the dropper post. Been very happy with the chain lube as well. Always used their moto products since I was a kid so I figured I'd give it a try. Pretty happy with it.

i mean... why wouldn't they? MTBrs will pay $23 for a quart of Fox Green suspension fluid when a $7 bottle of 10w moto fork fluid does the same thing - designing for the "specific demands placed on MTB" requires making smaller bottles of the same stuff that sell for more.
Not hatin, just sayin...

I have been using the motocross aerosol chain wax on my bikes for years. Still on the first big can. The stuff is awesome and super easy to use. Only reason I would try the bike stuff is the small bottle for travel.
  • 1 0
The dropper bottles of it are way easier to use than the spray wax on your chain. Same with the lube and MPPL.
  • 1 1
Telemahn, you are the exact kind of people I shake my head at all day long at the bike shop. NEVER use aerosol chain lube!! It gets everywhere and I spend twice the amount of time cleaning the customers bike, plus its unnecessary. Also when the customer wonders why his brakes are contaminated, it's because of aerosol lubes.

hahahah that video was so irrelevant it made me laugh! hahaha just a huge sick boost air...not that theres anything wrong with that!
  • 3 0
Haha it's better than watching somebody lube a chain up and say "oh this lube is better than the rest of the competition". Might as well show some sweet riding footy.

The video clip is Griz, our BIKE Brand Manager blasting his jumps.
  • 1 0
doesn't get much better than that clip. Props to him. griz is a rad dude, and goes huge on those jumps.

WOW would love to try some of this stuff. The Lube/Cleaner market is so crowded. My first thought was geez yet another lube/cleaner on the market. how much room do shops have for this stuff.
  • 4 0
 This is a good thing.
  • 3 0
Do they have a "Not Plush" fork oil?
  • 5 0
 That's exclusively OEMed to Fox
  • 2 0
twebeast, you win the internet today. Enjoy it!!
  • 3 0
Oh great, now MTBers are going to SC-1 the crap out of their bikes too.
  • 2 0
Just don't get it on your grips!
  • 1 0
Been using their oil for years instead of the re-branded overpriced oils. Even fox is rebranded oil. Slick honey Yup its rebranded also.
  • 1 0
@MaximaBIKE is the plush oil on the market yet cause I cant find it anywhere?
  • 1 0
Almost! Lab testing has taken longer than expected but we'll have it out this year. Feel free to send us a message directly if you have more questions.
  • 1 2
Rockshox oil used to be rebranded maxima oil with a markup. So same oil for a hopefully lower price?
Also, use cst as unit for viscosity instead of some useless wt number that can mean anything.
  • 1 0
I am using the Moto stuff in my Fox 36 right now and would try any of this but will be trying the SC1 for sure.
  • 1 0
So, is it just more expensive now?
  • 1 0
If its good enough for The Griz, its good enough for me.
  • 2 4
damn, i was hoping for more than a re-branding on the fork oil in order to increase markup. I want synthetic fixed weight fork oil!
