 boost 148 though?

This was a truly amazing era of the sport, we see new tech these days but it just does not carry the hype as Myles mentioned like the Volvo Cannondale team and others used to get. Cannondale should make a comeback in the DH scene produce a something like the fulcrum or the Gemini with modern materials and geometry and then sign Sam Hill

 @ PLMedia: Made me LOL.

If Myles rides it Im sure you will not be able to keep up regardless of the modern carbon wonder you chose.

Great Idea redburn I emailed admin a few months ago about an idea i have had for years about something along the lines you mentioned but never heard back

It's a great idea guys! Our newest series of videos will feature modern day pros on vintage bikes!
  • 2 0
That would seriously some of the coolest content. Can't wait! On another note, Myles is a rad dude. Seems like a nice guy too

@TheProsCloset thats an amazing idea, the idea I had (which I mentioned to Dirt and recently Pinkbike) was to put newer tech on older bikes especially suspension to see what the bikes would be like, I understand that there are somethings like BB's and Cranks but everything would be worth a look and the fact the Cannonades had a massive head tube getting a modern day 26" boxxer on it would be possible. Be interesting to do 5 runs on an old original bike and 5 runs on an older bike with modern parts and find an overall time difference if any ?

Holy S**t! Look at that geometry and those stem/bars! I remember when that bike came out. I thought it was one of the most innovative things out. It was back in the day. Cannondale really was pushing limits of tech back in the day. The suspension linkage on that bike was very forward thinking.
  • 12 2
I remember wanting one of those. Might still want it since it's not Boost.

You said it flag bman33. Cannondale sure has forced the others to keep up thought mtb history. In production and racing .The old Cannondale I will truly miss.
  • 2 0
The geometry is still pretty standard these days apart from the bb height. 66degree head angle and 440 mm chainstays with 150mm travel.

From my standpoint as a Professional Mechanic all I can say is that this is what both Dreams and Nightmares are made of!!!

One of the bikes I lusted after most as a kid. That and a GT Lobo carbon. Still have a Volvo Cannondale jersey somewhere, but the Super V I bought because it was kinda like Myles' bike is long gone unfortunately.
  • 5 0
That Lobo gave me a Lobon
  • 1 0
@maxyedor Reminds me... I think I have one of those jerseys as well. Ah, the old days. It seems it's been a while since a big car mnfr aligned with a bike company.
  • 2 0
 Jeep + Atherton's?

I have old VHS tapes of this bike in action. I also have bad knees from downhill riding on a hard tail 24 years ago. Aren't you glad we invented this stuff for you! Thats why every one of you guys on Pinkbike should donate a few bucks and buy me a new Spartan or a carbon Demo....or maybe a Segway.
  • 8 0
I still ride with those bars! Azonic double wall FTW.
  • 3 0
+1 I have a set on one of my DJ bikes still.

i still have one irc tyre like the front one! it was awesome tyre at its time!
  • 3 0
I wish they still made IRC Kujo 2.65's. They were awesome!
  • 5 0
And the red wall Mythos... Legendary! Those were the coolest tires when I started riding!
  • 2 0
I was just reminiscing about the Kujo's The Kujo was THE tire that helped me minimize snake bites. 2.35 in the front and 2.25 rear.
  • 4 1
Those were the days!! breaking products and smashing bikes like that gt lobo/lts crack n dale v10 then a small company made the TMX . Brooklyn nailed it with a similar design of the can/Volvo . that whole drive system freeing up the rear wheel is were its at. (life saver many times on the trails). MTB industry exploded after 98.

That bike was way ahead of its time.

What a down to earth dude Myles Rockwell seems to be. Great bike, great memories and it would appear great guy too. Another decent feature PB - cheers and keep em' coming!
  • 4 0
Superb! I would love to ride one of these. Modern bikes look boring when compared to the old stuff.
  • 5 0
Ladies, one at a time please

I was riding Brain Lopes old Mongoose team bike (made by nicolai) with a trombone shock and I wished I had kept it.
  • 2 0
NICE, one of the few others that knows that.
  • 8 5
Innovation like this we need to see more of, enough with the bland mass produced crap we have now a days.
  • 3 0
Ahahah, look at the transmission! Absolutely genious in the front! Smile
This bike rides faster than others.

Thanks for the history lesson Pros closet. The only thing better than your stories are your Ebay deals.

  • 1 0
i was twenty! and man did I wanna ride that thing
  • 2 1
Effectively a zero degree reach stem on that (in relation to weight over the suspension). Interesting way of going about it, for sure.
  • 1 0
I can't wait to come check you guys out at the end of April!! You think I can take that out and huck some stairs to flat? Please?
  • 1 0
Ill buy a ticket to try that!
  • 2 0
While it sounds tempting, we just donated this bike to the MTB Hall of Fame.
  • 1 0
Shitty!! So I can't fondle it in April? I R DISAPPOINT.
  • 1 0
The only takeaway I got was, whoa there's $15,000 worth of track frame on the wall.
  • 2 0
I had the Coda stem on my hardtail and felt like a pro Smile
  • 3 0
 Looks like a volvo
  • 1 0
is it just me, or does that front tyre look very similar to the modern day ardent?
  • 3 0
The IRC El Gato was a great tyre, but I preferred the Kujo. Still, both were bombproof, and gripped well and you gotta love the sidewall colour.
  • 2 0
 like a Nicolai only modern
  • 1 2
 haha, not even funny.
  • 3 1
You don't want the truth you cant handle the truth!

So "technological", yet the rear rotor is backwards.

 more bite
  • 1 0
How so? It is the same surface area either direction. You're dumb.
  • 1 0
actually it has to do with the direction and pattern of vents, soooo, i guess you're the dumbass!
  • 1 1
The structural integrity during braking is compromised in that direction as well. You're still dumb.
  • 1 0
^HA do you actually believe that crap you just made up? the only difference will be your pads will wear quicker. f*ckin grom.
  • 1 0
Your pads will wear quicker? You are the most unintelligent individual I have ever stumbled upon. Your stupidity is astounding. I really hope you do not have children or plan on having any.
  • 1 0
Oh. You're from the east coast. That explains it. Have a good day.
  • 1 0
and i didnt know i was arguing with a child.
  • 1 0
I know. It's pretty sad that a 17 year old is more intelligent and has better punctuation than you. Just in case you didn't pass second grade, which apparently you haven't, the first letter of a sentence is capitalized.
  • 1 1
sub 25lbs definitely. Looks fun to ride.
