Ninja Cougar - Whistler's Newest Trail Addition!

Jul 28, 2008

Ninja Cougar is Whistler's newest trail addition and we at Pinkbike.com along with a few Norco Factory team riders got a first hand experience of this new creation. This amazingly well hand crafted trail will take riders from just above the mid station gondola (think B-Line entrance) and will tie in to Karate Monkey.

Have a look at the Pinkbike.com exclusive pics, the three videos and the crew that has made it happen:

Ninja Cougar will be a blue level run that will teach users the proper way to ride corners and to really pump the back sides of rollers. If ridden correctly a rider shouldn't have to use their brakes on this trail and simply flow its smooth line through the woods. 9 months in the making results in one carefully laid out piece of art work.

Gotta earn the run down the trail with these guys:

But the little hike was oh so worth the reward of the rip down:

Check out our footage of the trail and a helmet camera run that Chris and Andrew did down the section that everyone was sessioning:

Ninja Cougar Trail Builders Interview:

Like we said this trail has been in the works for 9 months now and has literally become a baby to this hard working crew. Trails don't build themselves and those that do the hard work are often over looked by the ones that enjoy the end result. So we want to take a moment to say hi and thanks to the crew that's hard at work in Whistler working on trails like Ninja Cougar and the rest of the bike park. Next time you see any of these guys stop and say thanks for all their hard work. Actually any time you are on a trail think about those that built it and offer to help out sometime-it'll do a lot for your trail karma.

Ninja Cougar is slated to open August 1st, 2008.

Please visit www.whistlerbike.com to learn more about the whole Whistler bike park and the trails within it's boundaries.

Ok now get off of the computer and go for a ride, I am!

Shaggy hair and scruffy chins seem to be the theme amongst trail builders, nowadays. Anyways, amazing construction. I give you whistler guys props for keeping the whole bikepark in order with only 10 guys.
