NS Bikes 2010

by Scott Bowman
Sep 17, 2009

NS bikes is a company out of Poland that most people have heard of. It's getting insanely popular, and as 2010 is around the corner we're getting a glimpse of what's to come. Stoked!

Here we have it boys: NS bikes 2010.

Pics by Moritz Langer of www.ridelite.eu

Trailmaster Rims
Built specially for freestyle mountain bikes-These rims are a 100% custom NS Bikes design. This is not another clone copy from a rim maker catalogue! After spending almost a whole year analyzing every single aspect of the design, the material and the quality of the rim makers, we teamed up with the best rim factory to build this unique product. The trailmaster rim is a high end product made from high quality 6066-T6 heat-treated alloy, about 30% stronger than standard 6061 used by most company, and has a sleeved connection. This kind of joint results in a strong and impact resistant rim and also saves weight due to the specific rim profile. The rims have 8mm asymmetrical offset drilling for optimized spoke setup and stronger structure (design for standard lacing- no cross lacing). Wide, pressure resistant NS rim tape completes this ultimate dirt jumping rim.

SPECS:
-Front and rear use
-Width: 33mm
-Height: 16mm
- Material: 6066-T6 heat treated alloy
-Sleeve joint for grat strength and impact resistance
-Size: 26’’ (559mm) and 24’’ (507mm)
-Drilling: 32 and 36 holes
-Disc brake only
-asymmetrical spoke drilling
-Big 8mm offset
-Valve hole: AV
-Weight: 26’’: 550g, 24’’: 500g

NS Quark Pro 25.4mm
The 2010 Quark Pro stem in 25.4 has lost some weight due to an optimized face plate and body shape. The Quark stems are now among the lightest on the market. Using our own extrusion mold, these stems are cold forged before going into the CNC department. We used a lot of precision machining on the outside and inside of the stem, allowing us to drop weight without sacrificing strength. The short reach and zero degrees rise makes it the perfect stem for New school riding. The finish is powder coat paint on the white stem and high polish anodizing with laser etched logos on the other colors.

SPECS:
6061 T6 Alloy
Weight 185g (25.4mm)
Length 40mm / Rise 0 degrees
6mm black oxidized bolts
CNC machined
Colors: black, white, Silver/Blue, grey, Purple.

Mint Bar 25.4
This Bar is the successor of the Jalapeno, however the geometry is now more dirt-specific. The handlebar is higher and has a similar geometry to the proof, but comes at a great price.

SPECS:
-Weight: 390g
-Width: 710mm (28")
-Height: 3’’= 76mm

NS Holy 2
The new Holly 2010 is available in 2 fresh new colors with all new graphics and features a bunch of upgrades. The Holy 2 is a completely new economical model for 2010. It is based on the 2009 Holy bike, but thanks to a very careful selection of parts we have been able to lower the price significantly. The Holy is the perfect complete package for hardcore street and park riding. With 24” wheels, compact geometry and no unnecessary parts, it’s an example of beautiful minimalism. This simple yet totally functional bike has a really nice price and lot’s of space for upgrading and fine tuning. However, the Holy should not be categorized as an entry-level bike! The quality is amazing and the bike is packed with high end features such as the full cromoly NS frame and fork and 3-pc Wethepeople cranks with 2 sealed bearings. For street and park riding there is really no need to upgrade!

NS aerials
NS aerials
NS Aerial
After spending months on design work and testing plus a small fortune on tooling, we have finally launched our long awaited product. Here are the 100% custom designed die cast NS pedals. Very similar to the aerial pro pedals but at a much lower price, these platforms should be one of the best selling products for 2010. Every single aspect has been analysed in order to obtain a low profile, maintenance free, lightweight and stylish pedal at a great price. Available in many colors and 2 bearing options- loose ball and sealed.

SPECS:
Weight: 450g loose/ 470 sealed
Thickness: 19mm
Platform size: 105x106mm

Martin slim grips

Martin slim grips

Martin Slim Grips
These signature grips have been designed from the ground up together with our pro rider Martin Soderstrom to meet his own specifications. NS single ply grips are made from soft kraton rubber and they are more comfortable than most mtb lock-on grips. In fact, these are BMX freestyle grips designed for mtb riders. Martin likes his grips a little bit on the thinner side so he can ride them with gloves, but at the same time, we wanted a classic proven mushroom style pattern for extra grip and great feel for use without gloves. Finally, we found a way to deliver these entire features in one product. The multi directional pattern was broken into ribbed block sections that reinforce the pattern so it wears slower but still provides same great grip. The result should please racers, dirt and street riders. The flanges can be easily removed thanks to a distinct cutting line. And the result will be a clean looking grip with a reinforcement on the inside end.

A lot of effort was also put into choosing the best kind of bar-end. We decided to use bolt-on plastic bar-ends with an elastomer inserts as this is the ONLY solution that works with all kinds of handlebars- both steel and alloy. The bar-end is our custom shape and features a molded NS logo. It’s thicker than most stock solutions so it should last a little bit longer.

SPECS:
-Diameter: 28.5mm (1.12’’)
- Length w/flange: 147mm (6.8’’) or 141mm (5.5’’) w/o flange
-Soft Kraton material

Ahaha. I couldn't think of what to say because clearly it wasn't blue, but I thought it sorta looked like a mix between blkmrkt's gun metal colour and a light blue so I just said that. lol

I'm all about NS and I even agree with that. It does look more sleek. But that's not to say the Soda looks really nice too. I'm just a little skeptical about the X-Fusion shock. Who knows what that's gonna ride like (not saying it's bad, just saying i'm not so sure about it).

It's great to see how NS is evolving and getting better and better. Great frames and graphic design. I just hope they improved the handlebars and hubs. At the same time it's a bit ridiculous for me to see on CRC the front NS hubs being more expensive than HOPE hubs which, let's be honest, are better than NS. Nevertheless, impressive good job North Shore Bikes!!! and make 50mm version of QUARK stem god damn it!

 I was agreeing with you.
Every company comes out with new bikes to fit a growing niche in the market. such as slopestyle bikes and fixes. I just found it odd that everybody drools over the latest 5 inch travel slopestyle bike and then people turn around and make a big deal about how everybody and there brother is making a fixie.
Get what im saying? maybe I should of explained it better in my first comment

i know i know but i ment that DMR used to be a dirt/street riding equipement pioneer in UK for a long long time and so as NS in Poland. Back in the day when everyone used to jump around on alloy frames from XC bikes if anyone had an NS frame was or very very good at riding or he had rich parents.

from these days NS evolved from garage welded frame makers to kick ass biking brand. I am really glad that actually happened Smile

I have two BLK MRKT Mobs, one SS with 24'' wheels and an 8 speed 26er. I think I own both of these bikes due to a solid company-rider relationship. I have always liked the looks of NS bikes but wonder about how much I would feel like one of NS Bikes pro riders. I bleed blood everyday I ride. Yep, I suck! But, I do ride and I do push myself harder every time I ride. I believe that the extra push I get is from visiting BLK MRKT's web page and looking at pics and videos of the same frame I ride doing amazing things. Soderstorm rocks and I will visit NS Bikes site to see what's up! Carter Holland is a super cool guy and he even told the world about the loss of his female pit, Sierra. I was so sorry to hear about his loss and I could relate. I have two pits that mean the world to me.
