Last day of practice was rough on the riders as well as the bikes. The track changed a lot during the day because there's no way to compact the soil so deep ruts were made and lines changed constantly. Because of this. many riders were left with minor injuries such as broken collarbones and fingers, but some were strong enough to keep riding despite a broken thumb, which is the case of Quidio rider Johnny Betancourth.
The ones to look for in the elite category are, defending champion Marcelo Gutierrez, Bernardo Cruz from Brazil, Neko Mulally from USA among others.
