@course preview -- Haha! Sad winter resort tries to capitialize on growing DH popularity by running a race down the clearcut its lift runs through--and then says it's for the benefit of spectators! Maybe that $20k of purse and however much in production (mowing) and promotion should have gone into some trailwork!

Pinnacle did its original press releases; riders said 'Well, based on our experience w/ DH and 4X (to say nothing of BMX, MX, SX), that format you're describing doesn't make a lot sense. But we love MTB, so let's see what you've got here."

The format still doesn't make any sense. And now we've seen the track. Fingers crossed this isn't the future of bike racing.

With the nothing going on at that resort you have to give them credit for putting up some cash to have any event there. No matter what it is a bike event, the jumps are big and people will get hurt. I would watch if it were online and I would go if I lived near there. Don't pick it apart for being different and ripping off the Redbull event that I think never even came true?

 1998 EXTREME!!! ...dude

Doesnt make any damn sense to have a 10 rider race with a bunch of 1 person jumps.
  • 9 2
Sounds like madness and mayhem. Carnage in fact. Imagine being neck and neck with someone as you both hit the one man booter, yeee haaaaaaa!

It has sense, that way they can go between the jumps in case they don't have enough speed to clear them

Murray, where does it say that picture is exactly how the jumps will be during the race? As far as I can tell, they're just testing the distance/speed, which only a one person jump is needed... its funny to see people making judgments about an entire event over a single photo from someone testing jump distances, haha.

"The payout is deep, all the way to 40th position" and then there is a DH race with only 10 people? I think there may be more than one event going on. One to test the booter and the other a 10 person DH race maybe?

SithBike- Each heat has 10 people, that doesn't mean there are only 10 people in the entire race... good lord.

Won't a number of riders suitable for this be out digging their lines for the Rampage?
  • 5 1
I think it's much more a downhill event. As i know most of the riders at rampage are freeriders. Sorry if I am wrong
  • 10 0
 will they do live stream?
  • 9 1
if there's no live stream, it's just half as cool...
  • 3 0
So dam true......live stream??????? Check,, no live stream...don't care.........every huge event should have live feeds!!!!!!!!

The Future of Downhill Mountain Biking!! Haaaaaahahahahahahaaaaa. Fuck I hope not. It looks like riding through a flat field to me. Unless that track gets roughed up a bit, the only reason the riders will need suspension is for all those hucks to flat. Rampage is gonna have bigger jumps AND require actual skill to ride down. I know which one I'd want to watch all my favorite riders rip up.
