Fall Riding in Pemberton with Polygon

Nov 6, 2014
by Polygon Bikes
Pemberton, British Columbia is a small farming community 20 miles (33 kilometres) north of Whistler. It is surrounded by amazing views, wild horses and perfect ribbons of mountain bike trails.

We have been having an amazing fall in the Pacific North West and as the rain has started to fall we decided to head up to Pemberton to try to capture the perfect fall riding scene.

N8
I have personally worked with Andrew Baker (@baker_bikes) and Beth Parsons (@parsonsbeth) on several different projects and I am excited to be working with them again on spreading the Polygon name in the PNW.

N8
We started Saturday morning with a shuttle to the top of Meat Grinder. The weather was amazing and we were blessed with ribbons of brown through forests of green moss.

N8
Meat Grinder has a series of rock features and Baker skipped several of them by taking to the air.

N8
Beth chased Baker all day (Baker's dream come true) with a huge smile on her face. The N8 has a way of bringing a smile to anyone's face.

N8
Once the trail opened up the views were amazing.

N8
The sun over snow capped mountains, perfect dirt and blue skies made this one of my favorite rides this year.

N8
There were definitely a couple of places on the trail where the Meat Grinder name came into play. Steep rock chutes, off camber rock sections and moss covered rock rolls kept things interesting.

N8
Afternoon rock rolls in amazing fall weather with your friends, is there anything better?

N8
It's hard to believe that the weather can be this good in November.

We started Sunday morning with the surprise of day light savings and trying to figure out exactly when the sun would rise. We got it a little bit wrong but we were rewarded by seeing a herd of wild horses on the way to the top of Cream Puff.

N8
Cream Puff makes it's way from clearing to clearing with some of the most amazing views of Mount Currie.

N8
This corner dropped into a good sized rut and Baker was having a great time slashing through it.

N8
Cream Puff has a good mixture of flowing wooded sections, rock rolls and long swooping corners in mountain fields.

N8
This shot is my definition of fall riding, a flow section blanketed with fallen leaves.

N8
There is nothing like a fast rock roll into a corner filled with water. Someone is about to get wet.

N8
The last section of trail might be the most visibly stunning. A rock roll with Mount Currie and the valley floor in the background.

N8
Rain started to roll in just as we were getting to the bottom of the trail. We had an amazing trip to Pemberton and we were blessed with some amazing fall weather. To see more picture from this trip click here.

Thanks to Pemberton Valley Trail Association for keeping the trails in such great shape. If you find yourself in Pemberton download the trail app to find out what trail is best for your skill level and stop at Mile One for a burger after your ride. You will not be disappointed by the trails or the burgers.
