The opening round of the Pro GRT/ NW Cup, affecionately known as the Underworld Cup is set for launch April 24-26. On the heels of Sea Otter, and in a gap between World Cups, should make for a pretty stacked field for the opener. Additionally, the Elite field will receive UCI points for the first time in the NW Cup's 8th year.

As always, big shout out to all the sponsors of the NW Cup:

 We all know this.

And he'll probably cause mass discomfort in the Uhaul trucks

This just in. Unfortunately it's not looking like it's going to dump rain for this race. Might actually be a bit dusty.

going to be sweet, can't wait for next weekend! by no means a complaint(last year's course was one of the most fun courses I've raced), but curious as to why they chose the same course as last year's GRT for Cat1/Pro?

No complaint taken. It's just the best combo of trails for a variety of reasons specifically for when we have as many people as we will have. Speed up top, fun in the middle, and a little gnar down low. Plus spectator/camera friendly. We've got a couple of new nuggets that will be used at the second race BTW.

 Hey!
I am flying down from alaska to do the race and had a few questions. What time in the morning should I be at the hill on practice days and such?
Thanks!

Is a DH bike necessary for this course? It seems that you could ride it on a 6" enduro.

I'd love to come up and ride that stuff. Looks fun.

Was hoping for king Diamond to Braeburn to helklers to old lower pro...

Close to that for round 2.

Unfortunately my bike won't be together yet. Waiting on some key components....I really wanted to make this event!

Maybe its just me, but thats the smoothest DH course i've even seen. Looks like a ton of fun to ride with your buddies, but meh for a DH race.

The camera stability is pretty good. Watch some of the other videos.

ACTUALLY, it's one of the best dh courses in america
  • 2 1
one of the best dh courses might be a little too big of a claim, although it is one of the most fun that I've raced. as the weekend progresses, bomb holes do open up and it does get more gnarly and there are lines that downhill bikes make a lot nicer

 It's just you!

Been out there. "Smooth" is not a word I'd pick, except for the upper part of the Cat 3, maybe.

 Let's race! WCR!!
