I had the duty of driving him back to anchorage to catch his flight home to Sweden. He keet saying that it wasn't broken and trying to walk on it. Luckily he got to ditch his stick for some crutches before I dropped him off. It was quite the drive. I could write a story solely about the trek home. We were four hours into the drive when we hit a forest fire that was clear across the highway. We had to stay the night at a lodge in talkeetna Alaska. Martin is a dude that I watched a lot through my younger teen years so I felt privlaged to be able to eat dinner with him. One of the funniest dudes ever.
I eventually got him to the airport and all was well, but it was quite the adventure home. My friends and I grew up watching videos of Martin to get stoked before riding around the neighborhood, I never thought he'd be in my neighborhood, taking my crutches back to Sweden.
90 percent of this was filmed in amazing Healy Alaska. Built or found by DOWNHILL ADDICTIONS. Take a walk about it is amazing what you can find. Also check out gravity trip to Alaska on pinkbike McGazza will always be shreding with me!!!!
It's amazing to think about the number of trailbuilding hours that have gone into those trails, especially given the relatively low numbers of riders in Alaska.
Hats off to the crew up there (hats off, beer glasses up)!
The riding and filming are fantastic in this but its the editing that really stood out for me. It's really beautifully timed and the use of sound is spot on! 10 out of 10, will watch again, and again, and again..........
Hats off to the crew up there (hats off, beer glasses up)!
