This year we call a new series of bikes ‘Purple’ and they are completely fresh out of the box! This range is more than just a colour option. The Purple range is designed for demanding connoisseurs.

SPANK is the excellent alternative brand that we have chosen to partner with. It’s a surprising, different brand with a subtle and rare combination of the ‘dirt style’ spirit and on a permanent quest for excellence and attention to detail. Four models fall into this family:

 My black and pink meta sx is more red than pink. They aren't great with identifying colors.

 HEADS UP TO ANY COMMENCAL BUYERS USING THE EU SITE THAT REQUIRES US CUSTOMS TO GET INVOLVED: I bought a 2016 Meta AM V4 off the EU site due to it not being available on the US site yet and, & even with shipping it came out to be less than the US site once available. I was extremely bummed to find out that there was an additional "customs fee" of $400.00 to release the bike to me! No mention what-so-ever on the site when placing the order of the charge. When I emailed Commencal to share my disappointment they stated that they were very sorry & were aware of the issue & have had many other customers share their "concern" & were working to change to site to notify US buyers using the EU site. Seems like an easy fix to have a note pop up when placing an order. An additional charge of $400 seems pretty note-worthy to me...

 No, it really is that easy. Editing a webpage to add in some text notes is less than 15 minutes of work.

 It's not up to the manufacturer to take your hand and walk you through the import and customs laws of whatever country you happen to be in. Anyone with any common sense would and known this first before importing. USE GOOGLE!!! It's what it's there for.

 Not like you don't need to pay import fees.... That is in every country... Import anything from USA to EU and will be the same. The EU is another thing between members

 Dude. Welcome to the struggle the rest of the world has, this is not commencal's problem it is yours, whenever you import anything from outside your country you have to pay customs fees. I thought this was basic knowledge, Murica.

Oh, and my 1995 Gary Fisher had so much purple anodized componentry, it would put to shame anything considered "purple" here.

 How exactly is this not "more than just a colour option"? I've got nothing against purple but as I watched the video I was thinking: "Great skills...check, nice looking bike...check...but are they really trying to sell a bike as different than previous renditions because it is purple?" I hope this isn't the case and there is something different, as they suggest, than just the colouring and Spank'ing of the componentry. Nothing wrong with fun new colours but to market it as a new line just because the colour and component choices are different isn;t much of an invovation. Barney has been rocking that s#$% for years. They do look like nice/fun bikes though.

 Just curious where did they say the purple series was an innovation? Because they didn't. And yes they really are trying to sell a bike with different components and color... just like every other bike company in the history of bicycles.

 I didn't say they said it was an innovation but rather that they claim it was "more than just a colour option." they don't really say what this means though. I suggested that if it is just a colour change it wasn't really a "new line of bikes" but rather a rebranding of older ones and a component upgrade. Don't get me wrong, I like the bikes, the video was great... just curious why the purple warrants the claim of a "new custom line of bikes"

 You try being an advertising dude at Commencal with words like "it's just a rebranding of older ones and a component upgrade." It's a custom line of bikes because they collaborated with an aftermarket parts company and got decals to match everything together, making the bike feel like a custom build somebody took time to piece together would versus just a stock bike.

 I notice they are bringing the price down on a lot of their bikes as well this year, but why are they still putting Marzocchi forks on a lot of their new bikes? Are they planning on Marzocchi coming back from the dead? Will people be getting a bike with a fork from a company that doesn't exist? Curious. Loving my 2015 Meta AM HT Race Plus by the way.

build quality is on point with the big brands but the direct to consumer pricing is hard to beat.(even with pro deals)

 Is the sizing of the Supreme Park DH V3 still the same? I always wished that there would be an XL/XXL frame with around 47cm for tall guys, just like some of the other brands now have.
