Following the launch of the Hail Advanced, the industry’s first women’s-specific 160mm travel trail bike, Liv has furthered its commitment to Enduro racing at the highest-level with the addition of up-and-coming New Zealander Rae Morrison as she prepares for the 2017 Enduro World Series. Signing a two-year contract, Morrison will lead the brand’s foray into a dedicated EWS race campaign. A relative newcomer to enduro competition, Rae’s varied racing background—from downhill to cross-county—has helped her develop the blend of technical skills and physical fitness demanded of the discipline.

Rae Morrison
New Zealand's Rae Morrison has become a consistent top-ten finisher after merely two seasons of racing the Enduro World Series.

Her break-out year came in 2015 as she made her EWS debut—earning two top-five finishes at the final rounds of the season—while also becoming New Zealand’s top-ranked enduro racer. First established in 2014, Liv is the first and only cycling brand completely dedicated to women. With an upbeat personality paired with the drive and confidence to take on the toughest race tracks, Rae not only values Liv’s mission but also embodies it. “I like that Liv is a brand dedicated to women of all levels—from those just starting out, to competitive racers—with women’s-specific bikes, gear and apparel that performs and looks amazing,” Rae said.

Leveraging Liv’s affiliate brand Giant, Morrison will receive complete support from the well-established Giant Factory Off-Road Team and anticipates a newfound confidence when the 2017 Enduro World Series kicks-off in March in Rotorua, New Zealand. “Having the best support, the best equipment, the best bike will make a world of difference. It takes away a lot of the pressure and saves energy for me to just focus on the race,” said Morrison who is looking to further improve on the success of her first two seasons.

Rae Morrison
Rae draws from both her downhill and cross-country mountain bike racing experience to excel on the technically challenging and physically demanding race tracks found on the EWS.

Featuring aggressive geometry and the latest in Maestro suspension technology, the Hail Advanced will be Rae's bike of choice for racing when the Enduro World Series begins in Rotorua, New Zealand.

Rae will have a quiver of Liv bicycles to utilize during training and competition but will rely on the Hail Advanced come race day. “It ticks all of the boxes: stable, yet playful and very confidence inspiring. I love it,” said Morrison after getting acquainted with her new Hail. For her training, Rae will also utilize the new 120mm travel, Pique Advanced trail bike. Both models are designed using Liv’s 3F design philosophy and are handcrafted with a women’s-specific Advanced-grade composite lay-up while featuring the latest in Maestro suspensiontechnology. In addition to Liv bicycles and select rider gear, Morrison will rely on SRAM components, RockShox suspension, Schwalbe tires and 100% eyewear, racewear and full-face helmets.

Was thinking the same, I far prefer the ladies offerings from Giant!

As a guy, I wish I could pull off that colour scheme

I'm buying a Trance 2 on Thursday and while I don't mind the green and gold (being Aussie) those Hail colours are bloody awesome.

@Lookinforit: a black frame with red and blue graphics..?

 @bonkywonky: But exactly that blue

She raced an aluminum reign in her privateer season too, just as an aside. Must be stoked to get off that dog ugly hunchback La Pierre ha.

great looking bike, based on the seat position, the rider feels the top tube is too long???

 or too slack

Maybe Chris Porter from Mojo designed it.

Short stem too, probably sized up for the usual racing reasons. Note that the dropper is slammed so the seat may have been brought forward to compensate for it being slightly too high at full extension. Most enduro liaisons are decent climbs so it makes sense to steepen the seat if you can.

 Too slack as the Reign.

What length of seatpost ist that? On my Size M Reign even my 125mm Reverb can´t be inserted completely due to the linkage Frown

@JohSch: What you're looking at is one of the advantages of metric shocks. The bike uses a nice big shock but still manages to have the top link quite low in the frame.

Where is this trail? Don't recognise it from Wellington so guess she's out travelling again.

How do they get away with the Snakeskin Nobby Nic? 3.xx bar pressure? Or "First Ride" with Super Gravity casing?

Some places don't really have any rocks.

Saw her riding the Liv XC bike back in December (the one with the RS-1) so she's obviously been with them for a while.

Being a vertically challenged dude, that Liv looks very interesting.

It's a nice intermediate between the trance and reign, I like the geometry. It's no more girly than my blue and pink nomad if that helps?

It's funny, all the rider chicks I know have a seething hatred for the Liv/Beti/Juliana mountain bikes and refuse to buy something with a cute aesthetic, swoopy lines or any bike with pink on it. Meanwhile I'm rocking my pink and baby blue with no problem. I reckon sales on girls brands would explode if they made them just look tough as hell.

@AgrAde: yeh it's a great point. If they aren't obscenely girly and plug a gap between models it could be a great option. I'm someone who seems to fall into that bit of a hole between models. Between all these dull long and slack enduro bikes at 1210+ wb and 65- ha and trail bikes at 140mm and 67ha. This sorta bike seems like something I would love to see more of ha. Playful but capable. Make something 150/160mm 66° 1170wb and I'll buy it right away!

wow that looked like a really bad ankle snap.....i admire her mindset to just get on with it. Looks pretty fast too.

Yeh crazy amount of steel in there eh! On the positive side it makes me feel better for wussing out and taking the b line on the gap jump where she smashed it in Whistler EWS ha.

Well done Rae, go get it this season!

 Rae is cool.

Is this a women's only article Liv? Am I allowed to read it?
