At Rampage! He freakin nailed it! Some people are like Cats! Glad he didn't fuck up and end up in a wheel chair. Crazy but rad at the same time!

 80ft backflip

I guess he didn't even have any opportunities to practice 70ft jumps before Big Grin

Doing it is amazing pinning it that f*cking clean is beyond words. Can you ride down those cliffs with flip bars?

Looks like Herb explodes into dust on that last one!

I wonder what happened to his bike though?
  • 8 1
Rumor has it it was stolen by the Sasquatch

I wonder if this is too big. Obviously I don't know from experience, but is a 70ft backflip require more skill than a 30ft, or is it just more dangerous?
I mean yeah, nerve counts for something, but there is a fine line between nerve and stupidity. If these guys are scared to do it maybe they shouldn't. After all, is bigger always better?
I don't want this to just be a disgusting freak show of people watching for crashes. I'd rather see incredible skill, and not sit there wondering if some kid is going to get orphaned today. . .

I think there is big slab of skill to slow a flip down that much and get the timing right to land on the wheels
  • 2 0
You would think that but from my experience at highland moving from their closest ramp to their airbag to their 40 footer I had to pull just as hard to get the rotation.

Apparently stuff is getting big enough to scare pros, even as red bull downplays it.
And how many times did Lacondeguy run up on that drop before getting the nerve to go for it? 10?
And yet I won't stop watching until some one gets seriously mangled.
  • 5 1
do none of you ^ realise that pros are still humans and they get scared of things. fear is a part of pushing limits
  • 2 0
Yeah I get scared stepping up to a new jump or drop...scaring these guys just takes it to an entirely new level which is rad for them!
  • 2 0
But to what limit? Skill only keeps you safe to a certain point. these guys are the best, but as you say, they are human.
  • 2 0
pro's get scared too.... but you have to remember that some of these guys like Zink and Gully have been in the game for 10+ years and they have progressed with the sport, things that might scare the balls off of us dont faze them because they have been hitting huge stuff for a long time so its more second nature for them.

PB please let us know what is happening right now. Is Round 2 of the Qualifiers happening or is it still rain delayed?
  • 11 0
 Still rain delayed.
  • 2 2
What's the deal...should we drive down or is it delayed?
  • 2 0
The finals that is...with this much rain hard to believe it will happen.
  • 3 1
How about second run on qualys? Is it cancelled due to the bad weather? Does anybody know anything about it? Can't believe Aggy may be out man!!!
  • 4 0
get on instagram if you have it and search hashtags #rampage // lots of vids with the rain... the road there is practically washed out
  • 3 0
I saw a message from davetrumporephoto's instagram (a photographer) saying that there is a possibility, finals may be pushed to monday. That would leave tomorrow for qualy second runs. I hope that will happen so that everybody get second runs!
  • 2 0
I would imagine Finals will get pushed back. With all the rain and lines having to be re-packed and what not. I'm sure everyone is going to take another run after all the rain. But definitely hope they get another day of qualy.
  • 1 0

memorial service during rampage half time tomorrow
  • 14 1
I actually heard he survived. Apperantly during his fall into the canyon he landed on a big pile of dead cyclists their bodies who didnt make the gap before. He got away with just 2 broken legs and syfilis.

No. Bike went into the canyon. Herbs rolled down the landing. Got out with just a few scratches.
