Here's what you missed

17:20 // I thought I'd go back and re-listen to what Claudio CALUORI had to say, and it's right, Claudio announced live on air that Josh Brycleand is quitting racing - "I had a discussion with him this week and er,he's actually pulling out from racing and the reason for that is because he's concerned a lot about his CO2 footprint." We'll wait until we have confirmation from Josh or his team.
17:15 // Manon CARPENTER injury update -

17:00 // Here's some behind-the-scenes from the flower presentation for the Elite Men.
15:58 // Your full Elite Men's results can be found here.
15:54 // "The last few months have been massive. The last five years have been a pain; [wondering] why can't I get back to it. It all came back at once...[I've] done it four times in a row - not many people have done that!" - Danny HART - 2016 UCI MTB DH WORLD CHAMPION
15:48 // GWIN suffers a huge mechanical. His back tyre is off its rim and the rim itself looks like it's taken a huge impact. Looks to have been something to do with the heavy landing in one of the big craters in the boulder field. Danny HART is your 2016 UCI World Cup Downhill Champion - Huge congrats Danny!
15:45 // Aaron GWIN is on track. He's down by 1.5 seconds.
15:43 // BROSNAN crosses the line in 4th spot, 5.8 seconds back from HART.
15:41 // Troy BROSNAN is 2.8 seconds back. Doesn't look like it's going to be the Australian's day.
15:40 // Danny HART looks stunned as he checks the time in the finish line. He's ahead by 2.9 seconds. Two riders to go.
15: 38 // Danny HART gains more time in the mid sector, then has a mistake. He crosses the line FASTEST!
15:34 // OMG! Danny HART is UP! Another Hart Attack!
15:31 // What a shame for Loic BRUNI! A flat rear tyre...he still gives it full beans all the way down the track.
15:30 // Remi THIRION is so close! Has he had a mechanical on the last jump? He crosses the line fourth fastest.
15:23 // Neither Marcelo GUTIERREZ or Connor FEARON can challenge Laurie GREENLAND's time.
15:18 // Claudio has just said on air that Josh BRYCLAND is pulling out of racing on account of his carbon footprint. Not sure how 'confirmed' this is.
15:09 // Florent PAYET splits the GB top three and is second fastest, 2 seconds behind Greenland.
15:06 // He almost flies off the track but German Johannes FISCHBACH manages to get down the track without a front break after a crash in the lower section.
14:57 // It's currently a Great Britain 1-2-3 as Greg WILLIAMSON crosses the line third fastest...for now.
14:52 // Loris VERGIER has a terrible run through the woods and slips off his bike, eventually slotting in to 12th fastest.
14:48 // Red Bull TV coverage seemed to freeze the point where Bernard KERR dropped some big style in the woods. He comes down the track second fastest so far.
14:44 // Great Britain rider Laurie GREENLAND is on fire and takes the hot seat with a time of 3:35.1, 8.5 seconds faster than Jack MOIR. It's the fastest time we've seen from this weekend so far.
14:43 // 20 riders to go and Laurie GREENLAND is up!
14:36 // Brook MACDONALD goes sideways over the rock and crashes into the spectators - who were already up close against the track. He gets back on his bike and crosses the finish line. He's gutted.
14:33 // Austrian Markus PEKOLL is second fastest, missing the hot seat by a second.
14:28 // Dean LUCAS loses control in the boulder section and goes through the tape. He stops to have a drink of water and then gets back on track. His race is over.
14:16 // Aussie Jack MOIR does a Sam Hill tribute on the infamous left-hand turn and crosses the line fastest so far with 03:43.9.
14:14 // Racers are back on track...
14:06 // There are four designated heli-med pick up points on the side of the Val di Sole track.
14:03 // We've got a red flag. USA's Charlie HARRISON is in the hot seat. Elite JACKSON is stretchered off track. We wish you well Eliot.
14:02 // We've got a DNS for Spanish rider Angel SUAREZ ALONSO.
13:57 // A HUGE impact for Eliot JACKSON. Another crash to the head. He's being tended to immediately by medics at the side of the track and is conscious.
13:53 // Frenchman Alex FAYOLLE goes fastest.
13:48 // Switzerland's Nick BEER - the 2009 European Champion races here for the last time. Best wishes Nick...the man with the best name in the history of mountain biking.
13:46 // Another massive slam to the head for one of the racers. Let's hope he's not allowed to continue for his own safety.
13:32 // Organisers report that Tom BERSSELAAR has suffered no spinal injuries and no head injury, although he was clearly concussed, so I doubt the latter is strictly true. #InForTheCount
13:29 // Wyn MASTERS is on track. He's fast but not fast enough to knock MAES off the hot seat. MASTERS comes in second with a time of 3:50.861.
13:25 // Despite a problem with possibly his pedals, Martin MAES takes the hot seat with a time of 3:49.863.
13:18 // Racers are back on track. Those who were already on track when there was a course hold will be given re-runs but we're not sure when - maybe before the top 20 final men.
13:11 // The rider - Tom BERSSELAAR from the Netherlands has been stretchered off. We hope he has a strong recovery.
13:08 // That is a horrendous looking crash right by the finish line. Rider knocked out. Understandably there's now a course hold.
13:00 // The Elite Men have started and Germany's Felix HEINE is sitting in the hot seat with a time of 4:02.238
12:55 // We can only imagine the cheers Steve PEAT got when he came down the track as the official course 'sweeper' after the Elite Women.
12:50 // Here's the full results list for Elite Women. Let's hope he had a beer waiting for him when he got to the finish line.
12:48 // "I cannot actually believe it. I was sure Tracey would win, she's been riding so well in the dry dust...This track is wild...It's like a controlled fall all the way down!" - Rachel ATHERTON - 2016 UCI MTB DH WORLD CHAMPION

And she did it again! An insane season for @rachybox who keeps the rainbow stripes jersey for another year! #MTBWorlds ????

A photo posted by UCIWomenCycling (@uciwomencycling) on

12:39 // Rachel ATHERTON wins! CONGRATULATIONS RACHEL!
12:37 // Rachel ATHERTON is now three seconds up but makes a mistake in the woods.
12:35 // Rachel ATHERTON leaves the start hut and races past CARPENTER who's now being tended to by medics outside the tape.
12:34 // That's a MASSIVE crash by Manon CARPENTER. She's holding her right arm and looks in a lot of pain. She crashed on the first big left-hand turn. We hope she's OK.
12:32 // 6.3 seconds back, Tracey HANNAH slots into second fastest with CARPENTER and ATHERTON to go.
12:31 // Tracey HANNAH loses time mid-way through the track. Can she make 7 seconds up somehow?
12:30 // Third fastest with more riders to go. Tahnee SEAGRAVE is way back NiCOLE's time.
12:30 // Tahnee SEAGRAVE is 13 seconds back.
12:20 // 04:23.3 is the time to beat. Only a few more Elite Women riders on track.
12:06 // And we're back. NICOLE is on a flying lap. She takes the hot seat. She crosses the line 3 seconds behind ATHERTON and HANNAH'S timed-training run.
11:47 // Oops! Looks like the Tissot timing screen isn't working. The Elite Women are now on track.
11:27 // Here are the full results from the Junior Men and Junior Women.
11:14 // It's a Canadian Gold and Silver thanks to Finn ILES taking the fastest time in Junior Men's, followed by Magnus MANSON. Frenchman Gaetan VIGE takes bronze. Congratulations Finn!
11:06 // Elite Men's start times are here. The first rider in this category will start at 13:45 (Val di Sole time).
11:05 // Elite Women's start times are here. The first rider in this category will start at 12:40 (Val di Sole time).
11:03 // Women's Junior riders have completed their runs, with Italian Alessia MISSIAGGIA taking the gold medal, followed by USA's Samantha KINGSHILL and France's Flora LESOIN. Looks like Frenchwoman Melanie CHAPPAZ was on a blinder of a run (second fastest through the speed trap and fastest at Splits 1 and 2 but something must have happened in the final sector as she crossed the line in eighth place, +51.829 behind the fastest in her field. Huge congratulations to Alessia on her World Champs win on home soil!

10:30 // Hello and welcome to the live timing and results page for the 2016 UCI MTB DH World Championships. I'll be taking you though the latest news as we get it from Val di Sole in Italy. - Farah, geebeebee media

The future's bright for Canadian DH. On a different note, MS Mondraker riders Gold and Silver, that's going to be a team with a BIG hangover tomorrow.

What an amazing day for Mondraker taking the clean sweep and what an incredible runs from Hart & Greenland,Hart you deserved it after an incredible season what a way to end it with gold.

Shame about Gwin he always have bad luck with world champs each year.
  • 12 0
@thenotoriousmic: I thought Payet rode for the other Mondraker Team (VVR Suntour?), not that Mondraker's going to mind. Is this a first for one bike to be ridden to all three medals? Did it ever happen during the days of the Intense M1?

@fantaman: The guy's clearly inherited Peaty's World Champs curse, hopefully it won't take him 15 years to break it!

Bryceland is pulling out of racing for environmental reasons!

Rob: well maybe he can ride a bike made of grass

Claudio: Well, he'd smoke it

Classic!
  • 61 4
Is he legit doing it for that though? I'm pretty sure I've seen him riding a two banger in some of his edits, and they're definitely not environmentally friendly

Yeah what a load of nonsense if he does quit for such a ridiculous reason I'll never forgive him. He's currently my favourite rider as well.

  • 13 2
@velociraptor-clintthrust: not to mention his drifting videos!
  • 126 26
Good for him to take a stand. Can't fault a person for making a decision like that.
  • 20 5
@bobtjustice: lives a bit in his own world I think... each their own. It would be a shame since he is such a fun rider but I wouldn't hold anything against it for moving on to something else.
  • 32 34
@bobtjustice: he just needs a confidence boost to get back to his best or just come out and admit he doesn't want to go as fast as you need to go to win world cups anymore. It's his neck that is on the line at the end of the day can't fault him for that. Not coming out with this rubbish about trying to save the world.
  • 71 7
@velociraptor-clintthrust: I don't think its the real reason. I think Josh is just having a laugh spreading some silly rumours. He's probably just burned out and needs a break.
  • 5 1
@thenotoriousmic: agreed. Be a shame to lose him off the race circuit. Great talent.
  • 5 1
@Jokesterwild: no me neither mate. Couldn't hold it against him. Just wouldn't like to see a great rider in his prime retire.

@thenotoriousmic: you wouldn't forgive him for making a personal choice? Wow, that's decent of you! God forbid your gladiator stops fighting right?
  • 11 8
@thenotoriousmic: I'm sure he'll be devastated that you won't forgive him. You must really hold yourself in pretty high regard.
  • 44 1
@velociraptor-clintthrust: Riding a two- stroke from time to time does not really compare to travelling around the world all the time with a large entourage.

On the other hand, with Ratboy nobody knows what he really said ;-)
  • 17 7
What is c02 footprint even mean in Ratboys case? He's pulling out because he doesnt like the effect of carbon bikes on the environment? This is a genuine question, I'm pointing this out because people often get down voted into oblivion for asking a real question they are curious about. Smile
  • 16 5
@pigit77: im guessing it means the CO2 of flying all over the world a lot. seems kinda silly to me. to me, sounds like he just doesnt really want to race anymore. he hasnt seemed really into it this season. and hes wearing protective padding every race. i think injuries are in the back of his mind and he doesnt want to risk injury anymore
  • 8 1
@sooner518: My guess is the way they burn through tires contributes more CO2 than the travel
  • 7 9
@sooner518: Aaron Gwin has been racing with protective padding the whole season and nevertheless he won the world cup....
  • 8 2
@Mocope: it just seems like Josh never wore that stuff before this year, and this year he has. whether or not Aaron wears the same gear is irrelevant to Josh.
  • 3 2
@tttyyler: They are both really bad, but I do think the travel is worse.
  • 32 12
@pigit77: a CO2 footprint is the amount of greenhouse emissions caused by something [event, individual, etc..]

I think Ratboy is making a smart decision and i hope to see a more environmental friendly bike industry in the future, we as riders love the trails and the nature BUT WE DO NOTHING TO PRESERVE IT. I don't get people saying this is a foolish decision, they just don't understand or don't know a thing about environmental contamination.
  • 94 10
Oh my God oh my God, I could pour so much troll gasoline on this thing... but I'll say this from the true bottom of my heart: whatever is his decision, a true fan would respect it. And if you don't like it, it's not your business anyways, no comment thread can change a mind like that. Just enjoy it as it goes FFS... Yaaaay Josh! Have a good time, whatever you spend it on, cuz it's your fkng time! Fuuuuck the Internet! Cheers Bricey!
  • 10 9
Ethics only a man who has never worked could have haha. But really its not our business and he doesn't answer to us, i respected him loads this year for ditching monster and it would be hypocritical to love one decision and dislike another when they're both a result of the same principles- all because we selfishly want to see him ride.
  • 10 2
Have to remember that Josh hasn't actually said anything himself yet.
  • 3 5
@WAKIdesigns: F##k meant to update that but I have fat clumsy fingers, everyone, please, mentally +1.
  • 7 4
Up vote not update?!? It like I'm wearing boxing gloves to type.
  • 20 7
I'm disappointed of how some people don't accept Josh decision and disrespect his reason for quiting racing. It's a very good reason and I have a huge respect for Josh on thinking for the environment. I absolutely love biking, my favourite thing in this life, but part of me will never be fine with what we do to the nature from using oils, bike production polution, parts changing all the time, trail damaging. Yes it's a lot worse with cars and bikes are usually environment friendly, but they also have their impact. And it's maybe worse when you are racing. Good to see that someone cares about that too much. The only problem I have with Josh leaving is that he is damn good from what he is quitting. He is probably the most gifted rider and he shouldn't quit what God, mother nature or whatever that is, gave to him. This can't be right. I would say to Josh to stay in the racing and try to have a positive impact from that position. World Cup's finest is a great tribune to try having such an impact, I think.

Why are you even discussing this "reason"?
  • 3 1
if this were his reason, he could do a lot more staying in the spotlight and shining on light on solutions, maybe working with new sponsors etc.
  • 31 2
My comic book style theory is that Ratboy's motivation for so many years was beating Gee. When he was finally doing it in 2014, but then choked at world champs, blowing up his foot and giving Gee the win, he lost his momentum. The following years saw them both no longer at the front of the pack. With his nemesis dethroned, his mortality confirmed, and his team disbanding, he has decided to retire his superhuman identity. His heroism is no longer needed. If Gee does return, Commissioner Warner will light the Rat Signal, and hopefully the hero we deserve will fight to restore balance once again.
  • 7 1
I'd like to think a certain steve peat won't let the most naturally gifted rider of all time quit before he's even hit his prime.

@viatch: Minnaar has publicly stated a few times that he will retire riding Santa Cruz bikes.
  • 1 1
@velociraptor-clintthrust: That was my exact thought. 2-stroke engines are incredible polluters, yet so is flying all around the world over a dozen times a year.
  • 5 2
I respect Josh if thats really true. However, its easy to decide what his carbon footprint is and purchase offsetting carbon credits. Most airlines offer this option, and may companies do it. Could be something to include into his contracts and a way to raise awareness without quitting.
  • 4 2
@peytodog: Fair enough, but I was thinking about this throughout the day, the team travels with a bunch of people and a ton of equipment. If you factor in all that, and then the crazy amounts of almost-new bike parts they get rid of ... I remember when the Syndicate switched to Enve wheels they said they went from using something like 40 rims per rider per season down to 10. 10 carbon rims, who knows how many tires, a couple frames, I doubt a chain gets used for more than a couple runs etc. None of those parts have their carbon footprint priced into them any more than plane tickets do. His salary probably wouldn't cover the carbon offsets.

Another way to look at it though, is that he simply freed up a spot on the circuit that will get snapped up by someone else, increasing that person's footprint by a similar amount to how much he reduced his own, making him a less culpable individual in an equally doomed world
  • 7 1

  • 32 0
They cut away from it pretty fast. I waited to hear more, but that never can. Gwin can't buy a break at World's. What is this, like his 3rd straight mechanical?
Warner or Claudio kept throwing shade on Greenland's chances of making the top ten let alone the podium. I knew this dude was on the podium after seeing the gap he laid down on split 2 and no one was coming close.
  • 66 7
@SamRouss: A couple of things here....

1. He needed to finish the race, just finish it, to win the entire season.
2. It was raining a lot during his run, so there was no way he could have won anyways.
3. If all he needed to do to win the title was finish, why risk injuring himself with world champs the follow week, which is the one race everyone wants the most? That would make literally zero sense.

Why don't you really just say why you have a problem with him. Is it because he's American?
  • 8 1
@Wesley-Swipes: exactly. no need to put it all out for a top 20 instead of 50. the race was lost before he got in the gate.

@EnduroBro: i dont care if hes american, it was an awkward run, awkward celebration at the bottom cause the run sucked, at least put on a show, hes an ambassador for the brand hes riding for first thing. Look at Brosnan, he finished 20th but at least he tried and crashed at the bottom. But his run was awesome
  • 35 1
Not great marketing for his new tyre lol. Jokes aside, go watch the replay. He was explaining what happened to the marshals, pointing at the rock he lost his tyre on and making a hand gesture as to say his wheel blew off the rim. To be honest he didn't look pissed at all.
  • 20 0
@SamRouss: getting down on someone for a relaxed run and a relaxed celebration, in a race they lost because of weather they could not predict, in a run that would not have given him a damn thing.....

and I didn't say anything about being American.
  • 12 1
@Jack-McLovin: Exactly...I just watched it like 4 times. Gwin isn't the type of guy to make excuses or complain. I think he was just showing them what he hit and rightfully so he was pissed, I would be too if I just shredded my tire on a critical run.

What I was surprised by is why he unclipped immediately at the top of that little drop. Something must've spooked him because he didn't seem off balance or anything. Who knows.
  • 20 3
This track is so brutal that it can easily mess up a 2ply Minion with Procore and Huck Norris on 64 spoked ENVE M160. It's just insane what sort of G-outs these guys put those bikes into, and how fast they start to roll to boince into microwave sized rocks because it's so steep.
  • 5 2
@WAKIdesigns: maybe he's thinking why the f did I use E13 TSR Enduro wheels and not DH wheels
  • 20 0
@SamRouss: Brosnan pushed because he still had points to gain and positions to lose in the overall. Gwin didn't. Gwin literally just needed to cross the finish line.

You're comparing apples to bricks.

So basically all the other riders were putting down as their strengths like steep tracks, or technical riding, and all that good stuff.
But what did Gwin put? 'My brother Jesus and Father God'. I face palmed.

@makripper: @jaycubzz: Look at the Bikes of the Best thing on pinkbike and scroll to the picture of Gwin's bike at the bottom. You can see that his tires are all black, no logos. Black paint covering most of it, but you can see a bit of the maxxis logo on the front wheel and some white text on the rear.

In the video it looks like the wheel broke, but its actually just the tire and what was in it flying out. He actually comes to a stop and sits on the bike, which he wouldn't be able to do if the rear wheel was in pieces.
  • 5 0

@mlr428: He was pointing out the rock to the marshall. Mentioned in his interview on Vital that he went through that section, tried to huck though it, and there was a big rock where he was going to land, and bailed. If you watch Bruni's run, as he goes through that section, you can see the rock Gwin mentioned get kicked into his line. That's racing though.

@westeast: Danny's doing something right, that's for sure. Maybe all he needed was just that motivation from his first WC win. • 3 2
@ldhbaker: Rumour has it Warner was sacked ten minutes before the end of the broadcast for repeatedly bagging out Tissot. Top brass were at the race and have heard it too many times, apparently.
  • 2 1
@ldhbaker: The screaming and getting excited thing is just something announcers in the UK do. Doesn't bother me one bit tho it was a bit surprising when I first watched some British Super Bike races in the '90's.

That said, while the guy yesterday was professional, he wasn't as knowledgeable. And more important than that? Rob is not the straight lace stoic professional XC, Road bike type AND NEITHER IS DH! Do we really want see DH get like XC, or worse yet, road?
  • 2 0
@BDKR: Has it been said that Ed will be replacing Rob on the ground? I don't see how DH will all of a sudden become stoic with somebody a little more conserved on the ground level.  What a massive crash of Tom Bersselaar! If you're watching the live stream it was horrible... I just wanna put to Warner, that it most certainly wasn't due to pure exhaustion. Tom goes to the gym several times a week as an hobby next to his downhill racing, so he is fit! Just look a the pedaling power he was putting at the end towards the finish jump. He charged to hard and pushed on the front end wich send him into a nose dive. I think we are seeing way to many crashes today, it's grinchworthy to be honest...

  • 7 0
When I'm watching mountain biking these days I'm always kind of wondering if I'm about to watch someone kill themselves on the course. Basagoitia was lucky to survive his crash at Rampage and is now only just walking and riding again.
  • 3 0
@combee: I thought he lives in Germany. You'd expect him to take advantage of the many bikeparks over there, though that obviously doesn't prepare you for a WC track like this. That said, I don't know the guy. Just hope he gets well soon.

More news on Manon?
  • 1 0
@vinay: Nah he doesn't. I hope he gets well too, but a broken hip can be very nasty. I tried contacting him but nothing so far..
  • 11 1
Red bull plays great on my iPhone
I wonder if Giant is kicking themselves in the ass for dropping Danny? Great to see him back on point!
  • 12 0
 Heal up Manon!
  • 1 0
Indeed that was a brutal crash
  • 7 0
We got a great crash reel from Worlds this year. Hope everyone heals up ok. Not surprised by Rachels win but I'm pretty happy for PomPon. Rough year and a awesome finish for her. It seems Gwin has a Worlds curse on him. And all the hard work is paying off for Danny. Can't wait for 2017!
  • 11 0
Good luck in everything u do rat boy!!!
  • 7 0
I feel like Magnus got overshadowed from Finn, hats off to Finn for such a dominant season but the way Magnus had been racing in the late part of the season is undreal. The guys was pinning it can't wait to see them battle it out next year. Congrats to both of them

Does anyone know if there will be a replay available to watch later??? I'm busy so i cant watch it live.
last year I was on holiday and tried to watch a replay when I got back, but to my dissapointment for some reason it wasnt available.
Anyone have any clues?

  • 14 5
Bryceland quitting for environmental reasons? I pull the hat! Classy move!
  • 7 1
@dhflow: Heard that Rat left Monster energy, he's a huge proponent of the "Drink Water" campaign. Honestly for as much shit as he gets for being a supposed cheech and chong pothead party animal, the kid actually spends a lot of time reading books and just trying to have a decent moral compass. More then I can say about a lot of my own peers, I respect Ratboy a lot. If what's said about him quitting due to carbon footprint, I'm assuming this is referring to all the travel done to get out there and travel a world cup circuit, then good on him. If he's happy, then I'm happy for him. I find his decision this late into humanities existence, which has been plagued by mistakes and the last 100 years have been filled with some pretty shit moves to our planet, quite honorable.

Not a single mention on the BBC news but the tour of Britain is...............seems totally fair

British Cycling is the superpower in Mountain biking.....4 riders in the Top 10 Men's.....awesome to watch. Then there's Rachel Atherton....what an athlete.....she works harder and gets the rewards.....good on her!!!
  • 6 0
British Cycling are like the darkside of the force.
  • 3 2
@fatduke: It's because they have Doctor Who and stuff...
  • 3 0
@Mountain-Dalek: BC will take your money and in return offer you nothing especially when it comes to events. Unless its a roadie event.
  • 3 1
@fatduke: Same here in Canada.... these club-association-peeps only want our money so they can finance their lifestyle...
  • 7 0
No one's going to comment about Sik Mik Hannah's suicide no hander?! That was sick!
  • 9 4
For all the shit she gets online even though most of it is an onrunning hilarious joke stemmed from her own arrogance, there's no denying she's fucking quick.

Anyone want to buy a set of e13 LG1R wheels? The way they blew up has got me switching back to alloy!
  • 2 0
The wheel was fine p.vitalmtb.com/photos/users/2/slideshows/10466/photos/25774/s1200_slideshow_photo_1473645861.jpg even took some hits without the tire on and still held up.
  • 6 0
Best DH World Championships of all time, incredible run from Danny and Greenland! #longlivechainsaw #dontquitratboy
  • 1 0
 Nah. IMHO 2014 was better.
  • 4 0
Team GB rules! Very proud. Shame about the mechanicals, but that's racing eh... hopefully all the broken riders heal up nice n fast. As for ratboy, if he don't wanna race fair play, it's a pretty brutal sport.
  • 4 1
I know that I will be downvoted for this but.. Rachel and Danny are both about the same size... and Danny is all but 50 seconds faster than Rachel, the most dominant female (and winningest racer) of all time. 50 seconds on a 210 second course is huge; to me it just doesnt make any sense how such a great a contrast can occur.
  • 6 1
That was amaizing.RedBullTV should sort out their streaming service ,because its bloody trash.
  • 2 1
i thought it was just me !! i nearly broke my laptop :/
  • 5 1
@psychosamer: Nope,it was ok at the beginning ,but at the end it terrible.
  • 6 1
Happy for Danny and excited for the battles between him and Gwin next year, but would have been nice if Gwin won it today.
  • 5 0
Congrats Finn! Not bad for your first year in juniors!
  • 6 1
 FINN ILES, after that crash..
  • 5 0
Looks like no one Will get the mach 6
  • 1 0
Had the women's down. But the men's... No frickin way
  • 2 0
Say it ain't so RAT!!!! my guess is with Peaty retiring, big changes in the team...Rat was only it for the fun of the Syndicate family. Now that this era has come to end.. Rat would rather retire then continue on.
  • 4 0
Huge respect to everyone that made it down that track today (or even had a go).
  • 5 1
 Stay on your bike, Danny!!!
  • 2 0
wow he almost went down! what a recovery!
  • 10 8
Dissapointed that they didn't replay all of the insane crashes. Call me cynical but i want to see them, we're not spoon fed pussies.
  • 4 0
 Dannyyyyyyyyy! What a guy!
  • 5 3
looks like Gwin was complaining at the track when he exploded his rear wheel... Id like to know what he says. Congrats DANNY you did the impossible this year!!!
  • 5 0
I don't think he was complaining. Just explaining or trying to figure out what happened and how his rear flatted.
  • 3 0
If you are concerned about your carbon footprint prob best not to ride a carbon bike, no recycling that
  • 5 2
grande Alessia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah !!! now waiting the men junior ....
  • 3 0
Finn's riding is ill!!! Way to go!!
  • 2 0
Anyone notice on the live stream that Tanhee apparently rides for Madison Saracen Factory team?
  • 1 0
 and Manon ?
  • 1 2
Naaaaah She was defo on the custom transition.
  • 1 0
@fatduke: yeah I know what I'm saying was in the interview in the pits where the display came up with name/country/age/team - team was Madison Saracen
  • 2 0
@freerideglory: aaaaaaaaaaaaah ok probably just a typo, going on how half arsed the rest of the broadcast was
  • 4 0
 Manon...!!

This track looks brutal. It reminds me of this. m.youtube.com/watch?v=YbBiXPVKuTA
  • 6 3
Aaargh, dam u red bull tv!
  • 2 1
I know it's free, and thanks, but not working
  • 3 2
Looks like apple device is the only way to go to get it
  • 1 0
@Brauck: I watched it without any problem...but what's the difference?
  • 2 1
@Brauck: Agreed. So frustrating to watch. Obviously grateful to be able to see the races but if you're going to broadcast it then sort it out and do it right. My favorite is when a rider goes past and then for the next 30 seconds we see a pan shot of some trees or a nice shot of the gondola.
  • 2 1
Red Bull TV app or are you trying to watch it through a browser?

They don't seem to care about the browser working at all anymore. The Red Bull TV App via a smart device or set top box works perfectly!

They should at least tell people to try the app. Bull5h1t practices theirs!
  • 3 0
 wow... Ratboy's out of racing!?
  • 2 2
Shocking. I can't say it's a surprise, it must be a really hard time all round for him with his injury and subsequent lack of form and desire to win and Peaty's moving on. Not sure if the Santa Cruz team can survive this - I hope Minnaar finds something to keep him going.
  • 19 19
@ermoldaker: pretty weak excuse to stop racing. The team will have the same carbon footprint with or without Josh. He went full hipster. Never go full hipster.

Minnaar will have Luca Shaw on the team next year. And I would suspect they are looking for another.
  • 2 1
 @ermoldaker: easy, shaw and troy......
  • 13 7
@RatHunter83: each to their own man. Good on him for following what he believes. And an American talking about environmentalism?
  • 2 2
@ermoldaker: maybe YT will pick them up....that would be a powerhouse!
  • 7 3
@RatHunter83: His excuse is pretty legit! You just don't like it.

Would I have stopped for that reason? No? I think that carbon footprint bull5h1t is just that. Bull5h1t!

But OTOH, and as an American (which is supposed to mean something) I support his making a choice and standing up for what he believes in. Respect!
  • 10 0
If Josh is quitting, I'm pretty sure the environmental thing is a joke about him being a hippy. Downhill racing continues to get more serious at the World Cup level, he's probably jaded on the whole thing. He just likes riding his bike like the rest of us but just happens to be really f*cking fast. Also the whole rumor could be joke or he is going to ride for a new team. Steve Peat Syndicate sponsored by Intense?
  • 1 1
@arnoldtm2: I hope it is to be honest!
  • 1 0
@ermoldaker: I think Santa Cruz will survive.
  • 5 1

  • 3 0
@Marsupilami: I'm not sure that's accurate any more...the Juniors started well before 1100 this morning! I will update the above with the official start times.
  • 1 0
Is there a list for each riders starting time?
  • 2 0
@bashhard: I'm adding these in right now to the 'What we know so far section'.
  • 4 1
 Boom Finn smoked them !!
  • 4 1
 FINN ILES
  • 2 1
Live streaming not workin for me, is the problem due to DH getting too popular, ie too many people trying to watch?
  • 1 0
Try the Red Bull TV App if you haven't already. They don't seem to care anymore about supporting their player in a browser.
  • 3 0
 Danny Hart !!!!
  • 2 0
Ha ha ha. Now that was just glorious to see.
