Norco Bikes is proud to announce the addition of Slopestyle rider Sam Dueck to the 2010 Norco Factory Team. Sam has come off a great season boasting fantastic results such as 5th at Crankworx Colorado and 2nd at Goat Style in Creston BC. For the 2010 competition season Sam will continue to compete at an elite level in premiere events on a 2010 Norco 4Hun and an Empire SE.

Norco is excited about the addition of Sam to the Factory Team. He will be a great representative of Norco on the Slopestyle circuit. Sam has the ambition and talent to be at the forefront of slopestyle competition and we hope to offer him the tools to move forward with his riding career.

Sam rode for Transition the past few seasons on grassroots and this past season on factory. Now Norco.

If i were him, i'd prefer the 250 over the 4Hun for a DJ bike.

 he doesn't haave a choice

flag scotteh (Nov 18, 2009 at 20:27)
Excuse my ignorance Dustin, but how come they won't let him ride a 250? Is it just because the 4hun is their "flagship" sort of hardtail?
  • + 4
flag brule Mod Plus (Nov 18, 2009 at 20:46)
Truffles, the option is there but the 250 is very proprietary as far as the parts go. Sam is also sponsored by Shimano - their cranks will not mount on the BMX BB of the 250, same goes for the seat post sizing and a few other bits. This is why the team riders are on the 4Hun, well that and it's strong enough to take a beating.
  • + 4
flag dustingilding (Nov 19, 2009 at 8:27)
there are strict contracts involved and yes they are trying to market their flagship hardtail

flag MCsession7 (Nov 19, 2009 at 13:18)
That makes a lot a sense, about the Shimano stuff. But is the 250 not their top DJ bike now?
  • + 3
flag dustingilding (Nov 19, 2009 at 21:33)
the 4x is their top DJ/4x hardtail

 4hun sorry

flag norcobicycles (Nov 20, 2009 at 12:51)
Norco Factory Team riders have full choice on what they ride. We manufacture a full line of bikes and want each and every rider to have a bike that will let them put their best foot forward. The 4Hun is a great street/DJ bike and the team riders have embraced that fact as many are riding this model currently. You will notice though that Dylan Korba is actually riding a Two50 and loving it. There is no dictation from Norco as to what bike a Team Rider will ride.

I wish they kept Kinrade on the whole time! He was and now is one of the greatest ambassadors of the sport! He brought the first Norco rider driven feel to that company. Nevertheless there is always room for the new styles of rider like Sam! I hope Norco keeps him rocking!

They are a great company too. They have amazing riders, this is also another great company with great opportunities for a rider like Sam to grow with as Casey Groves is showing and growing with Transition.

On the bright side, it's great that he's getting the recognition he deserves!
He's going to love the Norco Empire too! (Great bike)
