Share the Ride - Now With More Prizes For You to Win

Nov 14, 2015
by Share The Ride
It's been just over a week since we launched Share the Ride for 2015 and we have already raised nearly 25% of our goal of $40,000. We have been busy behind the scenes plotting and planning where all of your donations are going to be spent this year. We have events lined up in India, New Zealand, Canada, USA, Hungary and beyond. But we still need to reach our funding goal to make sure we can get out to more locations and buy more bikes for disadvantaged children around the world.

•Giant P-AM2 rims, Giant Performance Tracker hubs, Sapim spokes
•SRAM X01 / X1 11-speed drivetrain with SRAM Guide R hydraulic disc brakes

Liv Intrigue SX
Valued at $4,299 CAD and built with the most aggressive female trail riders in mind, the Intrigue SX was created specifically for women who like to push the envelope on challenging terrain. It has the proven geometry of the Intrigue with added travel up front to help you conquer features and reach your full trail riding potential. The lightweight ALUXX SL aluminum frame is designed around 27.5 wheels with women’s-specific geometry. With 140mm of plush Maestro Suspension in the rear matched with an adjustable 140-160mm fork, you have more control to take on rugged terrain. Additional features include the tapered OverDrive steerer tube and a 15mm front thru-axle for precise steering, plus special cable routing for a dropper seatpost—so you can attack anything the trail throws at you without hesitation.

Where does your money go?
The map below shows Share the Ride foundation's work over the last couple years, with your help we can get to even more locations and help get more kids on bikes.

How it works
-For every $5 donated between Nov 3rd, 2015 and Midnight PST of December 24th, you will earn one chance to win the Giant Trance SX or Liv Intrigue SX bike and other listed prizes. So if you donate $25 that is 5 chances at a bunch of prizes.
-The winners will be selected from a spreadsheet using random selection.
-The winners will be notified by e-mail and asked a mountain bike related knowledge question.
-We will ship worldwide ... Customs fees and other applicable taxes will be the winner's responsibilities.
- $150 is enough to buy one child a new bike and a helmet.
- We are working with community centers, schools, youth and family service programs and other established charities and foundations to identify children from low income families who will benefit from this gift.
- We are world wide.
- We aim to ensure that the children receiving these gifts are educated on basic bicycle safety and maintenance.

We appreciate every dollar that comes our way and we make sure it gets put to good use. So thanks for your donation and for giving disadvantaged children the chance to be a part of something wonderful.

All it takes is for each of us to cough up the cost of a decent meal, and we'll crush this goal in no time Smile Think of all the undiscovered Sam Hill's out there who just need a chance to throw a leg over a bike!

You just tipped me over the edge man, haven't donated before but this time I did. For someone who doesn't have a job 10 or 20 bucks seems like a lot but it makes me so happy to see little kids having fun on bike because of us. I'm glad you commented. Hoping for others to do the same!

So im reading this on my phone... "I dont have $5 to spare. Im a college student...." I thought, while waiting in line for a $5.75 latte at a starbucks. I turned around walked out, drank some water, and donated $5.
Whos the basic bitch now!?

I may have worked it out but correct me if I'm wrong.
Say PB raise say 60,000 dollars (they raised and extra 50%last year), that makes 12,000 tickets for the raffle.
Now factor that there is 33 prizes to be won it leaves you with a 1 in 364 chance of winning some sweet gear.
For a raffle with such awesome prizes that's worth the gamble for me!!

like your maths and we hope to add even more prizes to encourage those to donate.

Conversely, if you offer 100 bucks, you have about 5% chance of winning prizes worth about 100 bucks. Its not worth the prizes, but if it were, the raffle wouldn't be making any money. It'd just be one big secret santa.

I am privileged to be where I am in life and I take it as an honor to have the opportunity to be able to use my hard earned money to benefit those less fortunate. Pay it forward everyone and just think of all the happy campers there will be!

Freakin awesome! It's a great cause. Some serious swag in there too. I'm generally not very lucky in these types of things but I also don't care. Great cause.

I'm not dumb mate. I know how to do that shit.

@jack-t-media I wasn't referring to every single country, I was trying to say each nationality is getting helped out. I.e Africans, Americans, Canadians, Australians, Indians, etc. and Russia, or all the countries similar to it (Ukraine, Bulgaria, etc) are not being helped out. But I don't give a shit, at least they are trying

that's fair enough. But very, very generalized.

@hardyk, @pigit77 - We do our best to reach as many places as possible each year with the money we raise. If you are able to help us put together a Share the Ride event together in Russia, please send myself or @roseoakhill a message and we will see what we can do!

Done. Sitting here thinking about my own boy, and the bike that's hidden upstairs for Christmas, it wouldn't seem right not to donate a few ££ so that some less fortunate kids get the chance to ride a bike too. No brainer.
