The shot of the eyeball and the rider reflecting in it was one of the coolest shots I've seen. Thats next level creativity, good job dude!!!

Thank you. It took some doing too. Trying to capture the GLC Drop differently was really tough, so I went with the macro approach. I'd also written off my Nikon D4 the day before in the rain, so only had a D800 to shoot with for the rest of Deep Summer. This was a one click, one shot affair. No bursts at 11fps.

No disrespect to Sam, his slideshow was amazing, but I still can't believe the judges didn't give the win to Lawrence Crossman-Emms. Stoked he at least got the people's vote.

I disagree. these photos were better. LCE used lights, smoke and a cinematic voice over but at the end of the day its the photos that count in a photo comp. deserved winner.

That's the beauty of photography, film making, design, music, whatever... It's subjective to the viewer. Life would be pretty dull if we all liked the same things ey? My show was about the good times with friends as we did the 'Whistler thing'. I wanted to keep it simple, because that's the way the best times are. No smoke and mirrors needed

Deep Summer was an amazing experience and I was truly honoured to be invited, so I owe Crankworx and Seb Kemp a huge thanks. Every photographer put together a brilliant slideshow but, for me, Grant's was the one that stood out.

Amazing show, Sam! You guys killed it. Well deserving of the win. And that tree island shot, daaaaaaaaaaamn. Best shot I've ever seen of that feature.
