Don't put it on mountain bikers. Anybody who has driven in slop be it mountain bikers, motocross, snowboarders, skiers, hikers, climbers, campers or whoever has driven in the mountains has one time or another done stupid things. We as a human race are douches.
Agree, all driving like that does is ensure our future land access is more and more difficult to maintain / obtain. No land owner wants the damage let alone the potential liability of some dummy driving like that getting killed / injured!
Sure they're tearing up the road but every service road gets destroyed in the fall and spring. Those guys are nothing compared to the countless duallies that tear the roads up all hunting season. Yes it's not the best for the environment but there's no way in hell I'm not gonna throw my truck sideways if it's slick out
If ya wanna drift, find and empty parking lot with fresh snow. Its an insanely fun time and yeah growing up with a dirt road my father had to maintain, doing that stuff is really shitty. Dirt roads go to hell as is but then again I have no idea about this situation nor do I care. I'm watching these dudes for their biking which was sick.
I have to go on the defensive here.(from experience) I don't have an issue with the quad or the car...you'll NEVER see evidence of a little fun roosting in thick slop conditions like that come spring. It's the dip shit on the bike that's doing more damage.....all things being equal.
For everyone worrying about destroying of property, I daclare that in the video we drove only on forest roads and drift maneuvering area We respect the property and any paths.
Typically in new England, people just bitch you out for riding in thewet because its abusive to the trail. Which I agree... But we cant wait all year for a sunny dry day...
Yup, flack is certainly given in the north east when riding in a little mud. Some trails even close. That was one of my justifications for a fat bike. It sort of floats on top of the mud without doing much damage and usually people stop the guilt trip once I mention that. I can see both sides of the topic though. Our trails do get blown out quickly in the mud.
It's amazing what a bit of drainage does. We ride year round here in Cascadia where it rains for 6 months straight. Because we build drainage. Shocking concept...
Guys, it's nice that you live in countries where the roads & trails are damaged by quads or bikes. We get to ride on what's left of the roads/trails after the logging tractors finished the forest.
I saw so many videos on PB where people ride quads and co, but somehow, here, it irritated and coused a lot of negativ feelings. focus on riding. it is all about riding!
I approve of slop riding to some extent assuming you give back to that trail. Here horses run the trails far further into the season and create lovely holes a mountain bike could not do.
On a side note let's stay inside the lines at 2:03 aye there bro? I've learned this pisses people off most.
I'm sure that four wheeler blasting all that mud and shit directly into your calipers is a awesome idea. NOT, my brakes are $310 each I'm not doing that to them.
I don`t want to be a douch
Awesome comment sewer-rat
Especially in Scotland where we have 'Scottish dust', which is mud..
