SR SUNTOUR's Gravity Ambassadors Introduction

Apr 2, 2014
by SR Suntour
SR SUNTOUR would like to take a moment and introduce to you our growing gravity fueled family. They can all rip and all have a similar goal of sharing their love of riding a bicycle all over this great planet. 2014 is going to be a fun year!

bigquotesWe have a great mix of youth and experience, riding styles and passions within the family. These guys represent what SR SUNTOUR is all about; to enjoy riding a bicycle on any terrain, anywhere. - Dan Dacko SR SUNTOUR North American marketing guy

We support, appreciate and work with people that share our vision. We know they are stoked to ride for SR SUNTOUR but we wanted to share our thoughts about what each member brings to the dinner table for show and tell.

photo
Ryan Berrecloth - His vision and passion for trail building driven by the simple intent of ripping those same trails makes us smile. Dr. Green Thumb lives in the woods, the myths are true.

photo
Garett Buehler - He channels his energy beautifully into finding, building and shredding big gnarly lines. He has fun on a bike and it shows in the end. He lays it out there and we appreciate that.

photo
James Doerfling- Suns out Guns out! His effortless style makes big lines look steezy and that’s all we have to say about that. We wish our turn down tables looked so good, well, if we could do them that is.

photo
Mike Jones - He can rip with the best of them. He rides as much as he can because he loves it. His sensitivity to what his bike is doing is amazing, which helps make our products better every day. On top of that he is one of the nicest people we know.

photo
Mark Matthews - His good-natured, laid back vibe makes watching him in the woods, boosting big, a real treat. He has big goals for 2014 and we look forward to seeing him in back in action soon.

photo
Eric Carter - He is smarter about riding than most people we know, which makes him an invaluable asset to testing and teaching. He loves to ride and loves to share riding with all; an ambassador at the highest level.

photo
Mike Hopkins - His goals are simple; be creative, explore new trails and ride ’em like you own them. He cares deeply about his riding and sharing it with others. That is long term and with that attitude we know the future holds good things.

photo
Bobby McMullen (AKA Blind Bobby) - Read his life story, it's humbling. He has ridden all over the world on some very tough trails trusting his riding partner to get him down safely, he is fast doing it and not just for someone with his blindness, it’s inspiring to us. We are glad to be apart of his adventures. To learn more about what he does visit www.rideblindracing.com

Odd Couple team 4
Garrett Robertson - An all around creative master on a bike. His ability to ride multiple disciplines on multiple wheel sizes coupled with his enjoyment of riding a bike makes him one fun guy to ride with and watch, we like that!

photo
Aurélie Tournier - She has been 'fighting' at the forefront of female mountain bike freeriding for years and recently helped create the first female big mountain contest in Virgin, Utah. She was the first European female to pull a backflip in a contest; big lines are a norm and she is a blast to ride with. Crossing borders, tearing down walls and having the best time in life!

photo
Guido Tschugg - The only German Freerider, to make it to Rampage, period. With his unparalleled background in 4X and DH racing it's no surprise that Guido is all about speed, power and big engines. Living his dream recently brought him to the Himalayas pioneering MTB, creating an experience of a lifetime for him and future generations.

Bear Buns trail in Cumberland. Tippie and Hestler.
Brett Tippie - What can be said? A big mountain pioneer who loves to ride, likes to get loose, doesn’t mind a good scare and one of the funniest people we know. Never a dull moment and we love riding with him, most people do, which is why he is such a great ambassador.

photo
Chris VanDine - He flat out rips no matter what he rides. He pushes the limit and has a blast doing it. His contribution to growing mountain biking in Central and South America is inspiring. He does things for the right reasons, it’s his passion and we are stoked to be apart of it all!

photo
Tobias Woggon - Luftansa’s ‘miles and more’ program must have been created especially for him. Tobias’ mission is simply to travel the globe, scouting unknown spots, bringing back the best stories and images to the world. Get inspired, get your gear together and follow along.

This is not your typical press release, but SR SUNTOUR is not your typical company. Thank you for your time and see you on the trails.

+1 for Suntour's newer products - very impressed with a new Epicon 29er fork that is taking a beating on stuff it wasn't designed to take punishment doing and asking for more....

Once I cried in Bobby's shoulder. After he gave me some words when he broke the same pinky finger as me. RESPECT.

Suntour makes great stuff. And the stuff they make is reliable which is something you don't really find in the higher end forks. The problem with a lot of the high end fork manufacturers is they work amazingly well when they do work, but unfortunately they lack the long term durability which you get with Suntour products.

SR SUNTOUR are doing awesome job here, what can I say, I was a big fan of Fox, after big disappointment from fox 36 talas rc2 fit, went to Marzocchi 55 CR which I ride now and I can say its an pleasure riding with them, and on my Trek ticket 20 I'm riding sr suntour epicon air, such a great suspension. So they are getting there.

SR Suntour is looking like they took Zoki's spot as top dog for freeride sliders.

While I am well impressed with SR Suntour's latest offerings, I think they've got some way to go before they take Marzocchi's spot in the top 3 sus providers for DH and FR

x-fusion is coming stock on many mid range bikes now. I haven't seen marzocchi for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if xfusion is currently 3rd

 Marzocchi has become severely under-rated.

I agree that Zoki's are extremely underrated. I'm still riding the crap out of my 2011 66 RC3, and think it likely performs on par or perhaps better than any other fork I've ridden. In the past however, it seemed as though a lot of freeriders, like Hopkins, Doerfling, and Tippie rode Marzocchi, and now they are with Suntour.

You can't rank the product by who they pay to ride them bud.
  • 4 2
You can infer the health of the company by how their sponsored athletes are drying up, however.

What a great group of riders to have on your squad. Simply some of the most amazing and inspiring riders out there. Way to put it all together Suntour.

they must have paid a lot to get all of those guys....or at least I hope those guys got to make some coin for switching to a new sponsor

Thumbs up for their high end forks!

Way back SR suntour & Marz are being manufactured in the same factory in taiwan. That's why if you try & see the internals of marz before it's tagged by suntour. Not sure if until now it's still the same.
