Video: Stevie Smith and Brendan Fairclough in Trigger Happy

Dec 18, 2014
by Anthill Films

How do Stevie Smith and Brendan Fairclough cover every possible angle of a trail? A remote control car, little green men, a rocket launcher, and cameras lining the trail from top to bottom are a good place to start.

Thankful North Korea didn't prevent us from watching Brendog and Stevie assassinate a trail in this leak from Sony.
  • 67 3
Probably because both of these guys hate Interviews.

North Korea wont, but the Sony Hackers might..
  • 60 2
those rockets look awfully similar to North Korean Missiles, do you think sony traded them the rockets for the movie?

Project X in TJ, but the POV shots didn't look very good quality.

"With the new Sony Action Camera from Sony, I'm able to record my hard labor detention camps from EVERY angle! Thanks Sony!!!"

so I'm guessing they started at 6am and were able to hit that trail at least by 5:45pm.
then 19 days of editing and good to go.
  • 7 2
these two can't look bad going fast in any format
  • 9 7
Great Riding, Cool filming ideas, but man the video quality is so much worse then a Hero4
  • 12 4
Everyone is so scared on N Korea. From what I hear their rockets are very pathetically small. I mean tiny baby sized rockets if you catch my drift. Thats why all the Korean chicks love Americans! Either way the Interview will be leaked online in the next week and now billions of people actually want to see it.

 Track looked sick!

 Gooooooo Faaaassstteeerr
  • 1 2
 stop using your brakes damnit
  • 119 6
that's one of the best videos iv seen for ages. I would still buy GoPro though
  • 25 2
 Why, because the POV sucks?
  • 8 0
 audio too annoying
  • 11 4
u choose 1 gopro hero 4 or 2 sony cams for the same price Smile
  • 21 1
the main thing i dont like about the sony's are the footage stabilization ...makes it look weird and the gopro has better playback quality
  • 6 5
I imagine the sony will be reliable and have good customer service... Unlike the market leader
  • 8 1
As great as this video is, and as awesome as sony equipment is, I still cant see myself getting an action cam over the GoPro....
  • 12 4
im sorry, but gopro have better quality, like it or not.
  • 14 0
I would buy some balls to do the 5% what they did on the track.
  • 87 1
henceforth, i demand a stomp rocket camera in every edit
  • 70 1
Dear Santa, please bring me 60 cameras for Xmas.... and perhaps somer talent too.
  • 7 0
Right, i was like sick vid. All you need is 60 cams. Or lets see, carry the one... plus three... over seven, FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS in Sony Action Cam's to make this vid.
  • 4 2
Or you can do each shot individually with one camera, it just takes a lot more time.
  • 3 0
 No sit eh @Patrick9-32
  • 35 2
Red bull take note ! ......get your fingers out and give us some good coverage of the bike comps ... you've got plenty of cash as you certainly don't give it out in prize money !
  • 35 2
 ...or insurance for riders.
  • 33 1
Wow I can't even imagine the planning this took to pull something like this off! One of the raddest, most creative videos I've ever seen!
  • 25 1
Soon in the buysell 60 sony action cams, like new, few scratches
  • 4 1
Hahahaha glad I looked... I was going to say the same thing!
  • 14 1
That was sick, must have been a bitch to edit...
  • 11 0
Oh now I need to buy 59 more head cams! Wink
  • 5 0
Guys could you please post these nice clips on PB's sever? We are not as cruel as North Korea (now), but we still cannot connect to Youtube. I have to use a proxy to watch this. Pain in the ass really.
  • 5 0
I still think the GoPro provides better quality footage compared to Garmin, Sony, Contour, etc. When will everyone else step up their game. It's not like Sony are new to the camera market
  • 8 0
 sacre bleu!
  • 6 2
if i have sony sponsored me by cam why not do it too here on simi valley ca . we have best rockies view to shoot Smile awesome stevie and brandon
  • 1 0
I agree 100% Rocky Peak would be pretty epic footage like this.
  • 4 0
I'd give this a go, looks a good bit of kit....would I buy it over a go pro for the same money, I'm not sure. Class video though.
  • 2 0
Brendog is my favourite rider at the moment. And it is freaking awesome to see Stevie Smith shredding again. Next season should be amazing. Not that this past season wasn't, but it definitely missed Stevie. Ratboy is amazing, but an on form Stevie Smith will make him earn every single point. Cannot wait. And very frustrated that I have to.
  • 3 0
That trail looked awesome. Anyone who gets to ride that on the regs should be giving out money. The best part was the parachute soldier legs hahaha great vid rad riding. Loved it.
  • 4 0
That not even the best part of the trail. The lines they are taking are huge. The jump over the big rock (pictured) is pretty ridiculous.
  • 1 0
Oh man I wish we had something like that up in the north east. I mean we have highlands manicured stuff which is a blast and killington and mr snow for some gnar but something about that trail spoke to me in a way that made me wanna grab my rig and go ride in 20 degree temps. I hate winter.
  • 1 0
That Live Vew Remote Watch is pretty unique + GPS, + SteadyShot Stabilizer, + Zeiss Lens, + IPX4-class splash proof rating (without a case) and nearly 1.5x the battery life of the GoPro... I don't think GoPro needs to be worried about their market share (quite yet) but for those that don't want to drink the GP Kool-Aid it gives them another option. Sony has to redirect their Camcorder R&D dollars somewhere... makes you wonder what they are working on for their next gen.
  • 1 0
Well the idea is great, the riding is great but the quality is still shit isnt it? Im not a fan of these cams in general, they are nice for the average rider or as on board cams but I much prefer videos shot with nice equipment.
  • 3 0
That was top notch, he'll of an idea (s) . Love the imagination with all the cameras. And then the riding.....simply AWESOME Smile
  • 4 0
Spread 60 cameras on the trail; do the downhill run; hike up to collect cameras; all cameras gone.
  • 2 0
Such a unique and fun video. Funny that all the gimmicky shots (I.e. Rocket, RC car, arrow) didn't actually produce in usable footage of the riding, but were an entertaining inclusion for the story of the video.
  • 3 0
Wow, to make a video like that I only need £9,600 worth of sony cams and sum skill. still good to watch!
  • 1 0
If that was 'true' then it was pretty awesome. If it wasn't then the riding was still awesome. I'm not sure about getting usable footage from a camera attached to a speeding arrow. Anyway, what do I know, still loved it!
  • 2 0
at the press day for the sony action cam they got people to fire them at a target, there's plenty of evidence of it on youtube!
  • 5 0
 brilliant!!!!!!!
  • 4 0
I wonder if I buy 59 cameras do I get the 60th for free?
  • 5 0
 So creatively awesome.

 Mousetrap movie-making at its best.
  • 3 0
Holy editing Batman! But the POV looks annoyingly slow even at 41km/h on a rock garden.
  • 3 0
Wallace and Grommet do mtb videos? Who knew!
  • 2 0
Sweet I finally know how to make a decent film, now I just $50k to afford 500 action cameras and to raid my old toy chest...
  • 3 0
This is the Rube Goldberg of mountain bike videos
  • 1 0
What a great idea, a helmet mounted POV camera. OH WAIT, theres already on made, The GoPro. Wheres your 30fps 4k at then sony. Other than that its good
  • 3 0
so how many cameras do i need to buy again Sony?
  • 1 0
You know your pro when....... You have more cash value in cameras than most people have in their bikes.....pretty sweet clips!
  • 1 0
Does anyone know if that gps thing ( where it shows ya speed and track lay out on the bottom of the screen) is a standard feature of the Sony action cam or was edited in ?
  • 3 0
 Genius!
  • 3 1
My home trail! The wash gap is so big and uphill!

 Fun video!

Looks very So Cal. From the mountain ranges in the back ground and soil, rock, bush terrain I'm going with Idy area?

That was for sure shot in the last couple weeks because that dirt is moist looking and we more less got our first major rain for this year these past few weeks. We actually have hero dirt in So Cal right now, time to go ride!
  • 6 6
It's up in Idyllwild. Trail goes all the way down to hemet. 6000' decent. The section they were on is called Project X. Bottom section is Hellraiser but is not in this video. Gwin did a video on the same trail.

  • 1 0
 wire guided I'd guess.

I hope they do a behind the scenes. Just to show the crazy contraption they made.
  • 2 0
They used $18,000 retail just in cameras.
  • 1 1
I get the same effect with 1 gopro 4 an a plan... Kind of bummed they gave away a lot of secretes to self filming... Check my videos..

What's the bulk market price for 60 action cams?
  • 2 1
Does anyone else think that Fairclough's jersey looks ALOT like brandon Semenuk's from rampage?
  • 1 0
Isn't it a TLD jersey? Aren't they both TLD riders?
  • 1 1
Yes but you'd think they would have two different styles.
  • 3 0
perfectdirtbro, Glad you noticed, yes, that is a sneak peek release of one of the new 2015 SPRINT colorways, entire collection goes for sale in Feb. More colors and styles than 2014.
  • 1 0
Thank you Toyleedesigns for the juicy info. Can wait to get my hands on one of the new jerseys.
  • 1 0
Any chance TLD there is a black/flo yellow color way?? Good call with the flo orange and duck camo! Maybe some real tree camo next year.
  • 1 0
Where can I get one of those cameras? I'll even take the one shot on the arrow!
  • 2 1
Gwin did an edit on this trail as well and ripped it probably twice as fast which is crazy
  • 3 1
SoCal is looking so good right now

Who needs filmers anymore when riders can use 70 actions cameras instead!
  • 1 0
Who's picking up the bag though?
  • 1 0
 ...and 59 cameras.
  • 1 0
For a minute there I thought I was watching an OK GO video.
  • 1 0
Looks like the parachute man had a line over. RIP parachute man.
  • 1 0
a very ingenious way to use these actions cams, very nice!
  • 1 0
Creativity+shred=a very solid video in my book. Great stuff.

  • 1 0
 Shredding cameras. Awesome.
  • 6 5
Awesome riding but GoPro is still better in every aspect
  • 1 0
And you only need like 100 cameras to film an edit like this..
  • 2 0
 better than Macgyver!
  • 1 0
 was thinking the same thing.
  • 1 0
 LOL!!
  • 1 0

  • 1 0
 Hahahaa TOP class!!
  • 1 0
 Blue sky envy
  • 1 0
 How many camera lost ?
  • 3 6
Pretty lame. 59 cameras on a pole make no better footage than 1 camera operated by a professional.
  • 4 7
my god the action cam looks shitty, congrats gopro for getting some free advertising
  • 10 13
Now that would of looked awesome on a GoPro
