If you haven't heard of Stirling Grassick then you'd better wake up a little. He is a 16 year old shredder from Kelowna BC. Stirling and I have traveled around BC to many gatherings and competitions.
This was Stirling's first year excelling in competition riding and he placed very well at all the events he attended. Read on to learn more about what he's been up to.
Superman FTW
Stirling continued to ride very strongly up until this life changing event. On Halloween of this year Stirling and our friend Daniel Paul were enjoying a great night like everyone else. On their way home they were hit by a car. Now the girl that hit them was not intoxicated in any way, but she still managed to be an EPIC FAIL as a driver. She was following the road when it came to a corner and she lost control and went into the other lane, entering the bike lane and running into Stirling and Daniel.
Stirling suffered a broken femur and bad head injury, he is now recovering very well at home. He will be back riding his bike in 2009, as soon as his doctor approves that it is okay. Daniel suffered a concussion, a tweaked knee and ankle and was really scratched up. Daniel was back at school and continuing to complete his classes a week after the accident.
During Stirling's down time at home he has been working on a highlight video of himself from 2008, as well as continuing to make fun of me for being short. Stirling wants all his riding friends around BC to know that he is getting better and not to worry about him because he is an animal house!
