bigquotesSam was looking great. The loose dirt suits the Kiwi and pulling out a 19th place qualification run confirmed this. Coming into race day Sam was feeling confident, with some good results behind him from Crankworx Whistler and the last few EWS rounds he knew he could let it go. Top 20 in the second split Sam had a big crash, clipping his outside pedal in a corner which threw him down into the next turn, unfortunately leading him to a heli and onwards to hospital with blood in the lung. Heal up soon dude! What to say about Baz, his last world cup! With his family on track supporting, the lad from the Congo gave it his all. Having a steady quali run he knew he also had a lot more to leave on track come race runs. This was apparent as he came down straight into the hot seat, staying there for a little while before getting bumped off by a barrage of French, Spanish and Swiss riders. After all was said and done though he was still good for 24th position, his best result of the year and a good end for the lad. All the best pilot! Fraser was battling hard with his ankle, after crashing big in Whistler it was heavily strapped to try and help him take the abuse Andorra had to throw. Not feeling himself Fraser struggled and sadly didn't make it through to the big day. A sad way to finish the season but injuries can have this effect on any rider. - Thomas Gaffney, Team Videographer

Every time they do these team videos, people comment that "'videos' means there should be more than one." They upload more team vids to this page as they come out. Every. Single. Time. Thanks for the up-to-the-minute coverage PB!

First comment, and no mention of Peaty and his leaving WC racing. LAME!! TWO THUMBS DOWN!!!
  • 7 1
@likeittacky: At the PEATY time I PEATY posted that PEATY comment the only PEATY video here was the norco one... why would I mention Peaty every second word for no reason? He's a living legend not a bloody conjunction.

wow very emotional seeing Josh and the Syndicate tearing up over Peaty, clearly means a lot to them all
  • 22 0
Bit of a lump in the throat at that point here too
  • 46 1
Josh all teary eyed was a great moment in mountain biking. I have ALLWAYS been a Steve Peat fan. The class that this entire team shows is really a rarity in sport. From Cathy on down to the wrenches and drivers I would be in bicycle heaven on tour with this lot. Just imagine what our riding would be like if we were nurtured and cared for like these amazing athletes. Long Live Santa Cruz and indeed Mister Peat, the Rat and the guy you never, ever count out.

 @madmon: Ratboy will be back!!!

What is the average duration one has to wear a goofy haircut after losing a bet?
  • 3 0
His haircut was bang on in 1990. Only Brits will know these guys: Charlatans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RJwW77Lsj8

You have to wonder if the Peaty retiring had a bigger effect on Josh and his season than we realize. They two were fairly inseparable during training runs throughout the season.
  • 1 0
@lbsteinm: Peaty is such a legend. It's interesting that kids getting involved now won't know how good he was. He will be missed.
  • 1 0
@plplplplplplplplplplplp: he's growing a new seedbed and watch out for him!

There is no vid like the syndicate's, they make it really personal and real, and show how its not all about racing, theres a real family vibe to it... love it

YT Mob vids are brilliant too.

@Shimanosaint0097 : still no one can understand what ratboy says Big Grin

Where the shit is Wyn TV? It's not quite the same since Pinkbike took it over.
Back in the day when Dirt ran it there used to be a track walk one, a practice one, a qualifying one and a finals one. We're lucky if we get 2 per race these days.

YT Mob videos are excellent. Those guys all look like they are having a great time. Gwin is the illest dude in mountain biking.

Best results of the year for the team in Vallnord Smile

Ah Rat with a tear in his eye, all the best Steve! What's amazing is that Josh can be so positive after having a couple of offs, he's clearly enjoying riding his bike and that's definitely the most important thing!
  • 7 2
They should do closed captioning for Ratboy, I can't understand a word he says
  • 6 4
I can't believe that Peaty is retiring. I can't believe he is still at World Cup level after all these years. He has been racing since I was just a kid....and now I'm really old. There isn't anyone like Peaty with his class, talent and great personality he really is one of a kind! The Syndicate video was great and if I was able to be on a team I would want to be on that one with all of them. Aaron is another one of a kind rider and an amazing talent but the YT videos just look awkward....they barely loook like they know each other. Hopefully it isn't really like that and I'm just imagining it.

Cappuccino Steve, rainbow stylin. Thanks for all the memories big dog
  • 7 2
Blenki's crash was a big one, horrible to watch. Heal up soon!
  • 9 8
I'm desperate for more videos and yet they aren't here!?! It's almost like everyone's had a big party and hasn't bothered yet. Selfish bastards...

Congrats all on a great season, and good luck for next year. Heal up well those who are injured, my condolences for those who have lost family and friends, and congrats Peaty on an awesome career to end on a high!

Love how YouTubes auto captions can't make head nor tail of half of Ratboy's speech!!!!! Smile
  • 1 0
Hahaha...his post-race interview is interesting as well. To be fair, it messes up pretty good on Peaty and, to a lesser degree, Minnaar.
  • 6 2
love ratboy but can someone translate what he said for me?
  • 4 1
i cant understand a word josh said lol
  • 4 1
 "STEVE MOTHA FUKN PEAT" ...........CHEERS!

Why Harry Heat is retiring ? he is so young and talented!!!!
  • 5 0
Dont think pro DH racers make too much $. If you are in the top 5, or the top 10, then you are probably making decent money, but back in the freecaster days Rob Warner asked CG how much money a top DH racer made and he said about 350k Euros for the top 5. A lot of money, yes, but he also said that it drops off really fast. For guys outside the top 20 (redbull.tv public footage) I would say they are lucky to make a meager wage on top of the travel fares etc. The sport just isn't as big as hockey, football, or baseball unfortunately.

The Mob is partying I think. Got beaten by Norco...

 Well done, Spitfire Steve. #spitfiresteve
  • 2 0
What did Minnaar test/change with the Fox guy at 7:21 on his DHX2?
  • 1 0
whats the next step for the syndicate? Shaw???
  • 1 2
 Beautiful moment with the RAT!

The way Greg was talking about changes, kinda sounds more like changes due to Santa Cruz ownership; sold to the Dutch conglomerate Pon Holdings.
  • 1 0
@likeittacky: I hear you, but the company that bought Santa Cruz, own a few other bike companies and have just let them carry on doing what they do, without any meddling. Time will tell...
  • 1 1
@chadgmail: "No meddling" do you get paid to scrutinize these companies and conclude, if they make changes or not? Your claim is to me, the way I see it, your fantasy on how a new company conducts business. In the real world, changes are always made in some way shape or form as to impact it's number one objective, profit. Hence, it's subjects and structure are always the focus of that change.
