Intense 27.5 Eurobike 2014

Skin wall Onza tires mounted on Factor carbon wheels made this Intense Tracer 27.5 a head turner.

Eurobike 2014

The original Surly Instigator was a steel, 26" wheeled hardtail, one that saw innumerable hucks to flat under riders who built it up as a freeride machine. Version 2.0 keeps the steel and the 26" wheels, but this version gets a 12x142mm rear thru axle, and rolls on 2.75" wide tires that are mounted to 50mm rims, giving them a height of close to 27.5". Add a dropper post, a short stem and wide bars and this rig looks like it could be a boatload of fun.

Time Traveler Eurobike 2014

This time traveler was walking around wheeling a bike that looked as old as the apparel he was wearing.

Eurobike 2014

Cedric Gracia was looking quite dapper as he signed autographs for fans at the iXS booth alongside Richie Schley and Hans Rey.

Eurobike 2014

Eurobike is held in the town where the original zeppelins were manufactured back in the late 1800s, and there's quite a bit of aviation history related to the area.

Vee Rubber had a line of new tires developed by BMX and mountain bike legend Mike King now there s a name we haven t heard in a while . The Crown Series consists of three different tread patterns the Crown-F Crown Gem and the Crown-R shown in that order . Eurobike 2014

Every day at Eurobike is an exercise in patience trying to weave around the roller baggers that fill the halls.

Jokes

Well, that's settled. Now we know where enduro came from.

Eurobike 2014

Speaking of enduro, Ergon's new BE1 pack is targeted at enduro racers, with a horizontally oriented water bladder located at the very bottom of the back in order to keep weight low and centered. The ability to carry either a half shell or full face helmet was also a priority, and Ergon has created a recessed area in the center of the pack to accomplish this.

Dartmoor Roots 27.5 Eurobike 2014

Dartmoor's Roots Red Devil 27.5 was set up with a Marzocchi 380 CR front fork and a Moto C2R rear shock, and a large selection of components from Dartmoor's own component line, including their Shield 27.5" rims.

BMC Trailfox TF02 Eurobike 2014

BMC's TrailFox TF02, their 150mm 29er, gets a new parts kit for 2015 that includes a Cane Creek Double Barrel Air rear shock and RockShox Pike front fork. The TF02 has a carbon front triangle joined to an aluminum rear, where the more expensive TF01 is a full carbon affair. As shown, the bike will retail for $6499 USD.

BMC Speedfox Eurobike 2014

BMC also had their new Speedfox on display. Meant for trail riding as opposed the the all-mountain riding the Trailfox is aimed at, the Speedfox has 130mm of travel and will be available in three different frame constructions: full carbon, carbon front and aluminum rear, or full aluminum. The 11 speed XTR equipped, full carbon version will set you back $8999 USD.

"Skin wall Onza tires mounted on Factor carbon wheels made this Intense Tracer 27.5 a head turner."

agreed! plus that stem needs to be chopped in half

Those rims look so classy in almost all black, in contrast to the black rims with massive white decals which have become the norm. I really thought I wanted some huge white Enve stickers for my spank rims until I saw these. Now I'm considering just taking al the stickers off.

I feel repulsed and drawn to skin wall tires in equal measures!
  • 3 0
Skinwalls - I predict the next MTB trend away from blackballs. I would buy a pair today if I could find them in the U.S.!
  • 2 1
Skinwalls are f*cking awesome! Seriously, what the hell happened to colored tires? They're amazing!

FAG Velomatic sounds like some kinda high-tech vibrator or some thing
  • 18 0
With a name like that no wonder they're having a difficult time penetrating the English speaking bike market.
  • 14 0

Skinwalls are coming back. Next up, 130mm stems and bar ends. Book it.

Apparently coloured tires aren't as grippy, I'm just not sure if I'd care or not having a bike that looked cool with blue tires.

I wonder what "Schaeffler" means in German? I suppose I could look it up, but I am having more fun imagining what it could be, and why they would call their bike "Fag". I guess they have never heard of Google. In any case, it is not a great name for most of us, but it's an instant sell for 10% of the market. I'll wait for the "Straight". I'd like to be able to buy a "Bi" for my wife, but that is just a hopeless dream.

Still, speaking of hetero-oriented products, I find myself disappointed by these product shows. What I really want is a bike version of Truck Nuts. I'd store my gels in them.

I can remeber selling FAG bbs back in the late 80s early 90s when fag meant cigarette, long before american tv programs changed the meaning for us brits
  • 3 0
And why cant i write fag? its just a bearing manufacturer! lol
  • 7 1
muricans need to stop getting so pissy over the word "fag"

it is simply a term for a cigarette or in this case a bearing manufacturer.

also a "f*ggot" is actually a seasoned meatball popularly served with mushy peas and gravy or a term for a chunk of wood.

FAG aka schäffler makes parts for the automotive industrie... i stands for something... but i´m to drunk to look it up... maybe tomorrow guys.. i wouldn´t trust those spanish guys
  • 4 0
Being the first American on this chain, I must say that the word "f*g" is just something that we have grown up with, and just happens to mean something unfortunately derogatory in our language. I'm sure we have many words in our language that we use on a daily basis that many other countries find hilarious or offensive.

It's not that we're "pissy" about it, it just is what it is here in Merica!
  • 3 0
It's rather unfortunate, I rather enjoy sucking back a fag
  • 1 0
@DaveDaRocka you are drunk if you are seeing double lol! And we are not spanish are we? No, we just live here
  • 1 0
 @kdstones "your" language?

I will never understand why people walk around wheeling a bag smaller than a backpack. If you can't carry it, you don't need it.
  • 17 1
They are mostly roadies and want to keep upper body exertion to a minimum.
  • 12 3
I don't want to be the one who rides a Fag.
  • 8 3
Better to be the pitcher than the catcher. Don't brake too hard in front of one or you'll be rear ended by a ...
  • 5 0
Coversation that's awkward for non cyclists to overhear: "Yeah man I crashed and some guy riding a *ag rear ended me" or "hey man can I check out your boxxers?"
  • 10 2
I want a threesome with that intense and that dartmoor...
  • 14 1
Add the Fag and you can have a foursome!
  • 9 1
I TOLD YOU EUROPEANS HAD TIME TRAVEL FIGURED OUT!
  • 2 0
Yeah, but at the beginning, time travel machine didn't work well, so never go in the center of France, because time is stopped here (first experiment didn't end as expected), you won't be able to go back. We tried to communicate with some stuck people, but they haven't electicity yet.

Cedric Garcia is so good looking he could make just about anyone bi-curious.

I know someone whos buying a fag
  • 1 0
He looks like a "man cougar' in that pic. But is inspirational as F&$ on the trail. Riding a cruz or fag, he straight up kills it.
  • 3 0
I used to smoke fags. I don't mean shooting homosexuals (for our American friends)
  • 7 1
They should write "fag velomatic" on every e-bike.

Regarding the last 2 bikes from BMC and to this day i still can't grasp the difference between all-mountain and trail riding :\ . - " Meant for trail riding as opposed the the all-mountain riding " ? my brain hurts trying to understand the difference.
  • 1 0
Fag is one of the bearing brand in Schaeffler group, INA is the other bearing brand also in the group and used in Syncros headsets in the 90s when still manufactured in Canada. Luk are the clutch made under Schaeffler group and long time sponsor of Hans Rey.

' Add a dropper post' 'and this rig looks like it could be a boatload of fun.' You don't need a dropper post to have fun, just buy a downhill bike!
  • 3 0
and that's exactly what i did man.. can't wait for my first dh ride.
  • 4 0
I wanna see the "time traveler's" bike. WTF?

  • 1 0
probably at a fraction of the cost, hope the guys here bring it to us more of the high end Vee rubber
  • 5 3
I dont care how much money someone would give me, I'm not riding a bike that says "FAG" on it.
  • 5 4
Just add "-got" to the end and wah-lah! problem solved!

It seems what I have suspected for a while is true. In order for me to be enduro I'm going to need a bigger backpack. Oh well.
