Has Sam Hill retired??? Anyone know whats up with him lately? Hes not really being very Sam Hill'ish this past while.
  • 2 2
Yeah and nobody knows what's going on.. Neethling is even up there and I thought he was semi retired.

He's returning from injury, he's getting old, he's struggling a bit with his bike (he just had a custom one made for him with a "new" geometry), and it's timed training which he never, ever showed his cards at.
  • 11 1
 @ka-brap: Lol, he's 30. He's not old... Minnaar is 34
  • 6 2
@vroomvroompartystarter: I said he's getting old, there's a difference. Plus he's 30 (31 in a month) with multiple season ending injuries that keep coming back to haunt him. That's hardly a recipe for success in World Cup downhill.

Never understood the Sam Hill enthusiasm. Guy is a has been. Nothing personal but look at his results in the last few years. Not everyone can race at an elite level for their entire career.

@Powderface: Two wins on two of the toughest tracks around and 4th place in the overall standings in 2014 isn't what i'd class as a has been.
And he was pretty much injured all of last season. I reckon there is still more to come.

@Powderface: in the last few years? He has two WC dh wins with a handful of top 10's finishes and plenty of national wins. He still has speed. I agree he was consistently faster several years ago but he's had several big injuries to recover from that have sidelined training and fitness. I believe if he gets in the mindset and his fitness is where he needs it, it wouldn't be suprising if he gets on the podium again.

@ramymcc22 Hill finished 21st in Fort Bill. Hopefully he'll be getting back to form this year. Minnaar also didn't start well, but smashed everyone last week. Hill won 2 races in 2014, so don't count him off.

After his second place in an enduro, I was expecting him to be seriously fit and injury-free. Enigmatic.

Sam unfortunately injured himself in timed training yesterday and will not be racing this weekend.

Brayton on form! Had to podium! Would be so good if he maintains this sort of form!
  • 4 1
Imagine having to pic the worlds team for the Brits this yeah, tough job.

Phil Atwill would be a sweet win for this track. Especially if he runs slicks. Smile
  • 4 1
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Gwin qualifies and finishes better than 66th, with or without a chain.
